*~*~* September 2015 Mummies *~*~*

H16, hope everything is okay and you are feeling okay xx

Morning ladies,

Spent most of the evening in hospital but finally got home around 9.30 so not too bad.

I was shopping with my best friends in town (luckily not on my own!) and started getting what felt like a horrendous contraction that just wouldn't stop, had it for an hour and a half and was in agony so took paracetamol got a drink etc but nothing helped. Then I started feeling really faint and got those weird black spots in my eyes that you get before you are about to pass out and was on verge of vomiting at same time - fun times! Had also only felt baby 5 times in almost 24 hours so was getting rather worried it was all linked. Felt completely out of it, was horrendous so I called my midwife who was just on voicemail - very helpful. Called the MAU and they said to go straight in and get checked out. Had a trace put on, a load of blood tests, urine tests and vaginal swabs for infections and as baby heartbeat was all good and his movement became a lot more regular I was allowed home. Still waiting for test results via phone in next 2 days and they have asked me to go see my midwife on Thursday for a follow up urine test in case an infection rears its head. They basically said that I have what they call an irritable uterus which means my body has random false labour contractions but they are more painful than normal braxton hicks and don't ease up so gives the impression you might be going into early labour but you aren't. Joyous. I have been ordered to rest and drink tons of fluids and avoid going out in this heat until I am feeling better as still feel really rough and lightheaded at mo. The swabs taken were for infection and to determine the risk of pre term labour as apparently that can be a result of an irritable uterus - if they find certain secretions it means you are more at risk of early labour. I thought I had been leaking amniotic fluid but they couldn't find any trace of it so that was good. They said to go back straight away if I have any more problems though. To be fair they were very reassuring and helpful and made it clear that you should always go in with concerns as it is always better safe than sorry :)

Just glad baby is ok really, was pretty scary :(

Awww God bless you H! Sounds awful and so so scary! Like you said thank god you weren't on your own and the hospital seemed really helpful? So glad baby is doing ok, make sure you get lots of rest now and drink plenty of fluids. Have you taken time off work? xxxxx

Luckily I have been a stay at home mum since October last year so I don't have to worry about work. OH is working in London for the rest of this week so hopefully nothing else happens as would be a nightmare for him to get back easily from there. Got my dad coming over this morning and my friends coming round this afternoon to check on me and one of my friends is coming with me to see midwife on Thursday just incase I have another episode so I am not on my own x

Awww so happy you have a great support network around you and don't have to worry about work! Xxxx

Glad u n baby r ok must have been very scary for you but good that ur hospital was so fab.

I'm so glad baby is ok H16 and that you are now resting. Glad the hospital were reassuring too.
I'm off work today, had a Crohns flare up so now got to rest too as it can higher the risk of preterm labour, between that and the heat I'm feeling a right state. My little boy is running around in the nude having the time of his life in and out of his paddling pool, times like this make me realise how much I miss whilst I'm at work! X

Glad baby is well and you are taking it easy H16. horrible to have a scare. Keep us updated on your results.

I suppose the nearer the finish line we get the more stress is put on our bodies, and this heat isn't helping anyone.

I'm so annoyed at work - our classroom is basically 2 walls glass so it's like a green house - the windows are locked shut for 'health and safety reasons' the parents complained (quite rightly) because their boys were coming out of school sweating buckets and when they visited the classroom said 'I don't know how you can possibly learn/teach in here'. One of the lovely mums brought me in a fan to have on my desk which has gone some way to saving me the past week - came in this morning to find it's been taken away due to 'school safety regulations' we can't plug in any electrical device that hasn't been officially tested by the schools electrical company blah blah blah! What about the health and safety of having children and pregnant staff cooking in their classrooms!!!! Really want to scream at someone today!
6 more working days ... 6 more working days ...

On a positive note I woke up to a text from one of my best friends who had her baby at 3:50 this morning! He was 8 days overdue and is just beautiful! makes me so excited to meet my little man!! Only seems like yesterday I was at her baby shower and she was only 33 weeks at that time!

Oh to be able to run around in a paddling pool naked today! :) don't think my neighbours would be too impressed
Xxx

Evening ladies! Hope we are all coping ok in this heat. Quick question ~ if you suffer swollen feet, do they tingle? I always know before I look down that mine are swollen as they just feel funny. Not worried about it as it only happens on hot days when I am on my feet a lot, but just wondering! X

I have only had swollen feet/ ankles once but it definitely didn't tingle as I hadn't even noticed they were swollen until a friend pointed it out x

Mine don't tingle but by the end of a day full of lessons and being stood up, I can feel they've swollen because they feel tight when I flex or bend them. X
