*~*~* September 2015 Mummies *~*~*

My legs feel dead tonight, it's a horrid feeling, heavy and achey. Also got a really painful lady bone, feels bruised!! X

I've only noticed in the last few days that my bump has gone hard at times but no pain with it. Had my mw yesterday arvo n still measuring at 30wks but she wasn't concerned after my scan last week. She said I'm all baby n just carry small babies nice n neatly bless her. I said I was worried about going into Labour before my induction n she wrote in my notes about having a quick Labour last time n that I must ring Labour ward straight away when I think I'm in Labour n they will send out a mw asap. Still worried tho that they won't believe me on the phone, keep dreaming I will give birth in an ambulance!!!

anyway guna forgot all that today as me n hubby r off to the Spa after dropping Harry at nursery to go fir a swim then massage n then afternoon tea in the restaurant as my b'day treat!!! Can't wait um so excited to relax with hubby for a few hrs.

Hope u all have good days.

Ahhhhhh that sounds like a fantastic day, Michelle. Hope you and your hubby have a great time! Xx

Morning Ladies,

Just catching up on the 2 days of posts!

Gilly - glad all was ok with the girls, fingers crossed they are good weights at birth so you don't have to go through all the monitoring! Hope the movements stay at a good level for you but glad they are taking it all seriously :)
Hoping OH gets some long term employment by baby birth but we are planning similar hospital strategy as I had to stay in over 4 days with Ruby due to PPH and they have told me to expect the same to happen this time. My parents are having Ruby the whole time I am in hospital so OH can come and go as he pleases and still go to work if he has a job as no point him having time off and sitting at home on his own. He obviously wouldn't be entitled to paternity either but would just take annual leave from the day I get to come home.

Kelly - Hope you had a nice meal with your friends. I love the dream, sounds like a very easy to look after baby hahaha! I haven't really had any baby dreams yet but I remember when I was pregnant with Ruby I had a dream that I kept putting her in her cot but every time I went in the room she was laying on the floor and I was getting really annoyed as didn't know how it was happening lol.

Bunny - Glad you enjoyed the hypnobirthing hun, would of loved to try that myself but couldn't afford it :(
Can't wait to hear how well it works for you in labour :D

Summer - I get BH all the time now but not sure if it me ramping up or just caused by this silly irritable uterus problem. Either way it is not pleasant lol. Going to start on the Raspberry leaf tea tomorrow and am sure that will make it worse too lol. I Very often see his little bum sticking out very clearly :D

Enjoy your day Michelle, sounds lovely! :)

Did anyone formula feed/combi feed from birth? I'm being a bit of a stress head about this feeding regime thing - I will breastfeed but I know last time I needed top ups (took a month to work out though) with Otto. Do you take bottles and formula in yourself to hospital? Just thinking it might be worth having these in the car if so.

Had my Skyr yoghurt with almonds and sunflower seeds - 17g of protein down...83g to go!! :D

Last night's dream I was in the war then taught music in a school so no baby dream for me again last night lol.

I didn't plan to combi feed but pretty much did for about a week. I have no idea about the bottle stuff in hospital. I'm going to attempt breastfeeding again and really don't want to top up but I think I'll end up giving in! :( x

I think I am going to have to give in, I just don't know how I will manage otherwise, I will definitely combi feed though so I am getting some breast milk into them. I just can't be sat for hours on end like last time, not when I have Otto to look after too. I've read so many stories about breastfeeding twins with a toddler but it's hard to get an unbiased view from pro-breastfeeding sites/people. x

Well personally I think it can be hard enough with your first baby, let alone spending the time doing it with your second baby, and especially with two babies! We just don't have as much time to do it now x

If you plan on breastfeeding but have problems producing enough milk etc the hospital will give you formula and disposable bottles but if you tell them you planned on combo feeding all along they may expect you to bring your own. I had problems breastfeeding with daughter so am just going 100% formula this time and am taking an aptamil starter kit which comes with disposable bottles but they are quite expensive x

Have a great day Michelle, sounds brilliant!! Gilly good luck with all the proteins ~ think your plan for paternity leave sounds very sensible.

I had lots of 'fanny daggers' last night and then period cramps very low down through the night. This morning bump has quite noticeably dropped. Am pleased really as she was so high up under my ribs its was difficult to get comfy so feel much better comfort wise this morning, but how soon before labour does bump normally drop? My bump never dropped last time!

I am also having lots of tightenings when up and on my feet, especially when doing heavy lifting eg children. However you can't feel them from the outside, but then even the hour before belle was born the midwife could only feel 'mild tightenings' and then I was ready to push so guess that's just how my body works.

Hope you all have lovely days ~ it's rainy here so we are having an indoor teddy bears picnic xx

Aww Tess I want you to childmind me! Your days sound so fun

I know BH are a good sign of body practising - just concerned baby's ok with the stronger ones - poor thing looks as if he's being vacuum packed. A big one woke me up last night.

I hope to breastfeed but obviously have no reference for how it will go - my friend advised me to take a sterilised bottle and a few of the ready made Aptamils in my spare hospital bag just incase. Her baby was born 3 weeks ago - she does breast feed but he's a little chunk so she just tops up with one formula bottle a day
Xxx

Tessa - there is no set rule for how soon your bump will drop before baby is born sadly. My bump dropped a few weeks before birth with my daughter I was gutted as got super excited it meant she would arrive soonish :( Bump drop does not mean baby engaged either unfortunately

On a side note ladies I heard in terms of engagement that second/third (etc) babies very often do not engage until right before labour where as they can engage weeks before being born if it is a first baby. So If any of us second/third time mums get told baby is not engaged at last appointments don't get disheartened! ;)

Forgot to mention I took daughter to Cotswolds for the day yesterday and we went to a place called bird land full of Flamingos, penguins etc and got to see the penguins being fed and diving underwater for fish, she loved it! :) But it was the first time I have tried her walking with reins as you all know she is so accident prone I went out and bought some after her last cut eye incident. She walked round for a good 45 mins - 1 hour with no signs of tiredness and went mental when I put her back in buggy haha. Makes me wonder if I really needed a double buggy tbh but saying that she does have a habit of walking you when she is on reins and expecting you to go where she wants to go so might be tricky juggling that with a buggy at same time anyway! Good little experiment though, going to try and make her walk more than buggy until baby is born and see how we get on :)

How old is Ruby, H?
Otto is the same on reins, will walk for ages but in the direction he wants!! I'm getting the buggy board with the Twoo seat so that he can sit if he gets tired, although not sure how far I will be going with all 3 on my own initially so will probably hang on. Otto hates the pram now too but expects to be carried when he's tired!

Tessa, when do you finish work? I take my hat off to you still going now! I struggle enough with 1 child to look after! Xx

Ah thanks summer and gilly you have made me smile 😊

Finish next Friday ~ whoop! And only a 3 day week next week so that makes it easier. Can be really hard going at times but the kiddies I have are so good and get on brilliantly so that makes it a huge amount easier. Plus they all (except belle) sleep after lunch so I get a little feet up time.

Glad bump dropping doesn't mean much, it's so hard to distinguish with symptoms. Have so many more early labour signs then with belle, but then who knows how much of that is to do with it being a second baby. Will just have to see what happens, hopefully at least another 3.5 weeks yet.

Xxxx

I love and hate symptom watching at same time, it is exciting but also really annoying when you get loads of niggles for weeks that don't turn into anything lol. My bump has definitely dropped now too. I am hoping this baby comes a little early as I have lovely purple stretch marks underneath my belly button now as well as my hips so would really like to have him before he gets even bigger and causes more lol x

Mw said I wasn't engaged yesterday but I knew that it was fine as you Saud h they can move n nit engage right up to Labour second time round onwards. I'm starting to get a bit worried about being on my own when it all happens but trying bit to think about it to much.

Just got back from my Spa day was so so nice the massage was amazing n nice swim aswell. N the afternoon tea well I'm so stuffed now n think me n baby r slowly going into a dialectic coma lol best b'day present!!

Oh n I told my mw yesterday that I will combi feed from the start thus time. I have bought the cow n gate starter kit to take in with me but will give breastfeeding a shot again too.

Michelle, glad you had a lovely morning. Do you have plans tomorrow?

Today the pain I was in was ridiculous. my feet have also ridiculously swelled up more so than they had originally!

Loads of period type cramps which would suggest baby is getting lower :-)
