*~*~* September 2015 Mummies *~*~*

OMG Gilly!!!!! Do you want to make me some??!!! they look bloody amazing!

Wow Michelle 1.5hrs! OH's Nan came round today was lovely to see her and see her so excited for little misses arrival! Xxx

They were so bloody easy to make. You should find some fabrics you like, I wouldn't mind doing it. X

Gilly they look amazing!! Love the fabrics you have chosen too, bet they will be just beautiful when they are up! H hope you are feeling better now! I have had a few really good nights sleep but have totally been overdoing it. Went to a big cbeebies day out yesterday.... Spent lots of my time in the queue for porta Loos! Today had a big shopping mall day getting last baby bits. Either second pregnancies aren't so easy, doing it with a 3 year old isn't easy, or I am more of a wimp but really feel I am beginning to struggle at times and didn't feel that with Belle at all! Lots of tightenings, pain in lower back, baby right up under ribs.... What was I saying about wanting to hold out till August?! X

I was fine earlier but yep the aching n back pain has now hit!!! Mayb 1.5 hrs was to long but rhe kitchen including fridge is lovely n clean lol.

Harry's had a fab arvo n even cried when we left this time bless him he loves animals.

Michelle.x

Awww ladies seems we are a very achey bunch this week lol. Totally agree that second pregnancies feel harder due to running around after a toddler 24/7. Don't know how you ladies also manage to work in childcare!

Just had a nice bbq at my parents, most of my family were there and got to see my grandparents for first time in months so that was nice, my nan has knitted little man 2 cardigans too which are lovely :)

Back home now waiting for the sainsburys Man to deliver the shopping and Ruby is in bed exhausted lol.

Baby not moving much today and bump has been constantly tight and rock hard for last 45 mins, got some fizzy coming on shopping but if that doesn't make him move I will have to ring hospital as I have had a couple of wiggles and a very light punch in last few hours and that is it x

Wow Michelle - I wish I had the energy go you!!
And gilly - they're awesome

Hope your ok H, our little monkeys are really making us worry in September mummies so far this month aren't they! Xxxx

It's lost half my post!
H16 I hope you feel some more movement soon! I know what you mean about tightenings mines been like that all week - found it hard to shop as I had to stop every few mins for some pretty strong B- hicks! Aren't our baby's supposed to have a pattern - mine doesn't seem to at all some times it's really quiet for ages then other times it's doing an Irish jig but never in any routine do any of you find this?

I also have two questions - both a bit daft but on many of the hospital bag lists it says 'vests' for baby. But can't find any packs of vests anywhere. Are they sleeveless baby grows?

Then in the supermarket I thought I'd buy some lotions and stuff for when we bring the baby home but I'm not sure what we really need! Could have filled the whole trolley with talc, oil, creams, wash, shampoo and other potions but I don't really want to buy everything when I only need 5! So what essentials do we need? Thanks!

Char x

They tend to be called bodysuits in shops for some reason. They're these...

Sat down for a while doing nothing and he started dancing around, panic over :)

The only routine I have noticed is that he likes to go mad about 3am most mornings and wakes me up haha x

H hope you feel some good movement soon.

Char I personally wouldn't use any kind of wash/oil etc for at least the first few weeks, just pure water should be enough. I know they all say suitable from birth but midwives/health visitors often advise against them as babies skin is so sensitive they can irritate. Personally I would get a nappy cream in case of rash, and if baby has dry skin I was told to use olive oil as it doesn't matter if baby accidentally gets some in their mouth. Xx

The mw will advise against talc and we don't really use it tbh, just make sure we dry thoroughly.
We didn't use anything in O's bath for a bit. As he got older we used the all in one bath and wash stuff. Sudocrem or Bepanthen (sp) were pretty essential for his bum. We also used Aveeno when he was a bit older as a moisturiser, it's unlikely to give a reaction as it's suitable for eczema sufferers.
We had loads of Johnsons baby lotion and it brought O out in a rash so ended up giving it away. I would just get little versions to try first as some do seem to work better than others and it seems to differ from child to child. But I wouldn't worry about lotions or bath stuff for the hospital, we were told to use plain water and cotton wool initially anyway.

Ah thank you Gillyboos that makes more sense! Picture helps so I can see what I'm looking for! Xx

The only thing I used to begin with was suitable from birth head to toe wash / Baby soap, talc and sudocreme. As others have said you only need to use plain water to begin with though. Also regarding the talc, my daughters belly button wouldn't heal for weeks and weeks and then my mum chucked talc on it and the next day it was fine! Great stuff although you would get bollocked if you told a gp you had done that! x

And thank you for the advice on the other stuff too - both myself and OH have really sensitive skin so we'll not buy anything other than nappy rash cream (as a just incase) and stick with water at least till we know what we're doing lol!x

The whole talc thing is a bit OTT isn't it? I understand that they shouldn't breathe it in but surely that means you just need to be sensible and not just smother them and chuck it all over them!
We don't use it because we just got in the habit of not using it. X

H that's good I'm glad LO started moving for you.

CharDrap I'm pretty much the same I just know she moves a lot at night and in the morning but apart from that I wouldn't say a pattern as much I can just tell when she's not herself if that makes sense?

Thanks for skating them questions CharDrap & Gilly for the picture really helped , just seems so overwhelming everything we need being a FTM don't want to get anything wrong. Xxxxx

Girls, I need some name help!!

We were almost 100% on florence honey and now for some reason I am beginning to waver on them florence part. I really want to keep honey as the Middle name as both belle and esme have colour middle names and it has meaning with this being our honeymoon baby. Think florence is so pretty but oh doesn't like any shortened versions and I don't know if saying Florence every time would be a bit of a mouthful? I think just because I am used to shorter names! Also in the running is maybe willow, willow honey? Any ideas of names very appreciated! Slightly unusual but not too out there. Thanks!! X

I adore the name Willow - always been one of my fave girl names x
