*~*~* September 2015 Mummies *~*~*

We really need to start thinking about names or at least come up with a shortlist. Twice as hard when we're team yellow! We only chose Amelia on the morning of the section and didn't have a boys name so just as well it was a girl! I find it even harder being a teacher as I always associate names with past pupils!

Associating names with kids is my problem too, even if they're nice kids, I still make the link and have to discard the name! X

Funny how many of us work with children ~ I taught year 2 and was slt at a primary school before having belle x

I'm secondary, head of KS3 within my subject. Weirdly I teach predominantly KS4 though!
Really not sure what to do, will be going back but not sure how long for. I love my job and school but childcare costs may be the issue for us. Also life/work balance, I've managed it with O but it does get too much at times. X

More then happy to help purple, do you have me on Facebook? :)
Gilly I live in Liverpool , what shops your pram in? Ive found also that as soon as was pregnant people became experts and doctors haha! Stopped talking about anything with them people as I'm like you and wouldn't be able to let it go over my head, must be a Danielle thing ;)
Doll eyes that would annoy me so much, that's why we've kept our names super quiet. OH's sister is having her 3rd girl due December and she already has her name, Gracie Poppy, I'm so jealous I wish I could think of names that quick haha! We have a shortlist, tbh it's more of a long list haha!

I love the August group it's so hard to keep up but so so exciting to watch!! Will be us in just 4 weeks maybe less :) x x x

How funny that so many of us do Work with children. The name thing is the sane for me I'm put off so many names. Thankfully we have decided on names well hopefully!!

Gilly I can't believe anyone would tell anyone else how it's guna b for them how the heck do they know what u can cant handle u will b fine n will find ur own way of making it all work.

Michelle.x

John Lewis, Bunny. They would send it to the house free of charge but I think even hubby is excited because he said we should have a road trip ha! Your right it must be a Danielle thing, I'm like a dog with a bone if I know I'm right, being married has chilled me out a bit as sometimes you've just got to let it go.

Doll-eyes, that's rubbish about the name thing, I'm always surprised how often it happens. We haven't told anyone this time because last time we'd tell family and mates they'd just say "oh no I don't like that" etc, I ended up turning round once and telling them they asked me what names we liked and I didn't ask them for their opinion! It's so hard because names are so subjective, loads of people are thrown by Otto first and I often get asked why we chose it...Errrrrrm because WE like it, obviously! I'm sure we'll get it with Merrin too. I really liked Gracie as a name for O if he was a girl, but it's hubby's exes name, so that was a no.
Michelle, you'd be surprised at how much pity I get when they either see me with Otto and find out it's twins or know it's twins and find out I have a 15mth old, I've resorted to telling them I'm not the first person to do it but I get sick of defending myself, but it does make me more determined to prove them wrong. I'm not one for asking for help anyway but my mum has that mum way of knowing when I need help so she's a great support.
Otto is still asleep, this is unheard of!!! X

I also work with children so I think that my problem too, automatically relate and Surname is Smith , so obviously don't want anything too common. My baby girl may just get her way with the Kian . 3 and deciding her brothers name haha x

I know someone with twins who finds it an absolute breeze, she is always out and about doing this that and the other with them. Granted she doesn't have a 15 month old but she is always babysitting her nephew at same time. It is all about you as a person and how you face things and I think you will be absolutely fine Gilly so tell um to stick their negativity up their bottoms! At least babies have lots of naps, so you will still get a bit of down time once they all have a routine etc :D x

Ramsey I knew a 3 year old who suggested her mum call her brother Jesus so at least your 3 year old has much better suggestions than that haha! x

Oh and everyone else with their opinion is annoying ... "Oh why Kian" "that's unusual" "hmm you's have ages still to decide now I wouldn't stay set on Kian" "isn't it more an Irish name than a Scottish name"

Oh hahaha that's brilliant . To be fair to her we quite like Kian because we never hear it, and it's because "I wanted a sister before but you've have me a brother now I love him I just want to choose his name mummy" :wall:

Oh that's so cute Ramsay!! What a nice story when they're older, his big sister choosing his name. X

Aww that's so cute Ramsey! My parents gave me the choice between Jordan Alexander and Alexander Jordan for my brother - it's lovely as a big sis to feel so involved!
As a side note:- I also had a cuddly toy parrot when I was little called 'Jesus' - used to cause my mum endless embarrassment when people asked  I like to think my tastes have improved slightly ...

Hope everyone had a lovely start to the weekend. I had a wee visit to triage last night - everything fine - I just woke up yesterday morning and my bump felt different. I didn't get the usual strong 'I want my breakfast' kicks. We went about our day as normal, picking up final baby bits (hospital bag now packed - woohoo!). Then had my dinner and put my feet up. Baby usually has a mad session between 6-9 where you can literally see knees and feet zooming around my bump ... But apart from a few small wiggles/hiccups right down low I wasn't getting any kicks. I have suffered with anxiety throughout my pregnancy so don't like to be paranoid but hubby (far more rational) decided at 9pm that we should ring.
I've not had any contact with the hospital midwives as of yet but they were all wonderful. Invited us in for assessment straight away. My baby has always been head down but side/back to back which is why I get such strong movements out front; however after 2 midwives prodding and poking they were concerned he'd got himself completely breech!
Midwife went to get a portable scanner and clearly bean did not appreciate all the poking as he began wiggling and kicking more than he had done all day! She had a good look with the scanner and could see his spine but couldn't find his head so she called the doctor in. Doc was great but blimey did she prod hard!! Ouch - eventually found that he was not breech but his head is so low in my pelvis they couldn't feel it and thought his bony bum was his head
Good news is he is now fully engaged with back to my tummy (so I'm unlikely to get his feet trying to burst through my tummy anymore) and probably explains the pressure in my bum over the past few days - I guess the exit gates are getting a little crowded! but glad he is currently 'locked and loaded' ready for birth.
I also had a couple of contractions whilst on the monitor?! Didn't feel them though.
I felt a bit silly having wasted their time but they were all so wonderful and each one - even the doctor said if you are at all concerned, be it a week from now or 12 hrs from now don't hesitate to come back - it's what we're here for. I normally hate hospitals but they made me feel quite calm and relaxed about going in on D-Day.
Anyways I'm hoping to have a slightly more chilled Sunday - taking my brother to buy some things for his new flat then promised hubby we can go and see the new Marvel film at the cinema  hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend
Xxx

Summer - glad you got checked out and all ok hun. Fab news about him being in position already, hopefully he stays there for you!

I would love to stay in all day today and rest, baby has been in awkward positions the last 2 nights and I have had hardly any sleep as a result, knackered. No chance though as Ruby already said "Mummy, swimming, kick kick" this morning so can't let her down lol. Hope everyone has a nice day x

Glad you got checked out Summer and lovely that all the staff made you feel so at ease and that you'd done the right thing. Let's be honest these little beans are our worlds, we worry about everything and should never be made to feel bad for that! Exciting that he's ready to come out, and contractions as well! Eeeeeek!

Hope your road trip is going well Gilly, weather is awful in Liverpool today.

I finished my hospital bag yesterday apart from needing PJ's which will be a quick primark trip when I finish work I think, off to IKEA in an hour or so to get baby's crib and Wardobe for upstairs and then it'll be decorating time. We weren't going to do much because don't know how long we will be here but we've found a gorgeous design that's so simple, won't cost a fortune and the things that are quite pricey we can just move with us so going to crack on with that when I finish work also.

I was exhausted yesterday, slept on and off for 14 hours !! How??!! Xxxx

Back from Liverpool, literally went and collected it, had some lunch and came home!! Now snuggled with my two boys watching Beethoven (O loves dogs!) x

I'm watching big hero 6 and I've just cried at the ending lol its really funny too. I've done nothing today, hubby came back at 4am from his holiday was really pleased to see him so that made me cry too that he'd driven all night to be back earlier. Hes got me a lovely little heart swarovski necklace too. He's alright really, pregnant me is so much more lovey dovey so weird! Xx

Awwww that's nice of hubby. They're not all bad are they? ;)
I've got a wedding tomorrow and realised I'm totally unprepared! Wish I'd ordered something new now but it's too late! Xx
