*~*~* September 2015 Mummies *~*~*

Doll eyes hope today goes well for you ~ keep us posted. Kelly that is a lovely guesture... How thoughtful!

Girls, I had my first craving! Sadly, it was not for something yummy..... So I was lying in bed last night and suddenly really wanted to smell something like a cheap hardware shop... How bizarre? The need was so intense, like a thirst, it kept me awake for bloody hours, totally ridiculous! So this morning I dropped my little girl at pre school and headed to home bargains... Found what I wanted in the gardening aisle! I loitered there for ages, just sniffing the air... Felt amazing but am worried I looked like a right nutter! Couldn't buy anything as there was no one thing that had the smell I wanted, it was just the general aroma! Never had this with my first pregnancy, so weird... Might do proper job tomorrow haha! X

Ohh! That's so weird but also pretty cool :)
Lol I'm sure nobody noticed you acting oddly ;) x

Mary Poppins this made me LOL!!!! :rotfl:
In first tri I 'craved' uncle bens sweet & sour chicken to the point it was all I ate for dinner for a week - but the craving wasn't quite this intense.
You'll get yourself a reputation - *tanoy announcement* "could the crazy pregnant lady in aisle 7 please stop sniffing the garden products"
I've heard of coal and creosote being quite popular cravings?! Our bodies are very bizarre!!! Haha xxx

Haha he's a tanoy announcement wouldn't have surprised me! God how embarrassing! I was trying to be really subtle but I must have looked weird! In tri 1 I wouldn't say I had cravings, just ideas of foods that would make me less sick than others! Really enjoyed cherry coke but it was nothing compared to this. Crazy! X

After hearing how much you wanted this, I can confirm I've had no cravings! The last three days though I've had corned beef sarnie with salad cream and cashew nuts. I just really just fancied it (rarely eat corned beef) x

Awe kelly. That was so lovely of them!
As for cravings i still havent had any! I never had any woth my first so i was actually hoping id have some sort of craving this time! The odd time id get a wee notion for something, but as soon as i eat it thats me satisfied. Cant say its any different from really wanting someing when im not pregnant haha!!

I havent even thought about my hospital bag. My granny actually bought me a pair of pj's today which would do perfect for after labour as they are loose and dark! When are we all planning to pack? Xx

Omg can't believe I'm here in tri 3!!! Seems so scary now.

I haven't really even thought about my bag yet as it all depends on my next glucose test next Mon if I pass that I'm on circa home birth. Of course I will pack a bag to so that I'm prepared for hospital aswell. I've only got some maternity pads, disposable pants n breast pads so far.

Dusnt pack last time till over 30 wks.

Oh thanks bunny that's so helpful! I got as far as sitting down to write a list but got really frustrated as couldn't think what I would need! Xx

That list is very useful, thank you! I really do need to start buying bits my job today is to write a to do list and start ticking off bits that I have. going shopping next weekend and hopefully going to find a changing bag :)
Can anyone recommend a good monitor, breast pump and steriliser... There are so many options would like to narrow it down and then look for a good price.

Your more then welcome !!

Oooooo monkeymummytobe I'll be looking out for some replies to your question I need the same advice x x x

Great list bunny! Thanks.
I'm a Ftm so my recommendations aren't coming from experience - but based on my own research (reviews and tralling forums) we've gone for:

Monitor: Angelcare AC401 (may also get a snuza hero)
Breast pump: Medela swing electric pump
Steriliser: TomeeTippee electric steam steriliser

It's all down to personal circumstances/decisions though -
Monitor: for me the sensor mat was a must but we saw no point in video. We also didn't need more than 1 receiver.
Breast pump: I hope to predominantly breast feed but be able to give the odd bottle so daddy can feed etc - so bought a single pump but if you intend on bottle feeding breast milk more regularly then a double pump may be better.
Steriliser - fairly standard size - seems more than enough if I am able to breast feed - but again if you're going through several bottles a day you might want a bigger one.
So many things to think about!! I haven't actually purchased the breast pump yet incase Im unable to breastfeed and my plan all goes to pot! ...
Xxx

Thanks summer15 - a few ideas to look into. Not sure my eyes can stay open much longer tonight soooo tired today, 28 weeks so a while to go :)

I used the Angelcare sensor mat n it gave me piece of mind to sleep soundly at night we only had the odd false alarm n I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it. I bought a Manuel tommie tippie breast pump that I found easy to use altho not fir long but will use again this time round fir a bit. Had the electric Tommie tippie sterilizer last time which was ok but I was never 100% happy tho so I hq've got the microwave one this time.

Just been out fir a nice meal n so tired now tho can't wait fir bed.

We used the boots microwave steriliser last time. I wouldn't recommend that one! Lol :)

Hi girls finally over here now. Felt so real while i was at the maternity assessment unit waiting for o growth scan, watching ladies in early labour coming and going and watching families leaving with their newborns. Was so hectic did freak me out, but the doctor said Fridays are always so busy. Anyway baby Olivia as she's now named for this week at least is measuring roughly 2.14 pounds and is actually above average they think. So she's just very well hidden and my bump is compact at the moment. Hope youre all well and getting organised. Feel like i have so much to do and only 8 weeks left at work! Xx

Hi hun, glad she's doing well. My bump is still pretty small but I'm sure it will pop out soon like Harry did.

Ohh she's doing very well in there then! :)

My bump is too big :( driving is a nightmare already.

I missed my Glucose test! I completely forgot about it. It was meant to be June 2nd! My midwife won't be happy with me on Tuesday when I next see her! Haven't seen her since 16 weeks!

Weighed again this morning. I've put on 10lb now!
Can't wait to start the weight loss journey after this though xx

Oh no Kelly can you re book so at least she can see u haven't totally forgotten about it. Wish I cud get mine out my head so worried about it n got another week to go.

Anyone else thinking of having another scan?? Can't wait till birth to see him/her again.

Michelle.x

Oh no Kelly, surely they will allow you to rebook?
Mine is on Thursday, it's so boring just sat around but going to take some magazines as I never get time to read them anymore!

How is everyone feeling? I've been having lots of cramps, twin 1 is so low now. My little boy is being a terror today, just can't decide what he wants and is really grumpy, it's not like him at all. Makes the idea of 3 under 2 seem realllllllllly appealing ha!

Hubby is laying the carpet in the nursery so definitely getting there now.

In regards to monitors etc, we have a BT one with stars, lights etc. Has a mute button which I can't recommend enough if you have a noisy sleeper! It beeps if they cry so you don't not hear anything. It's done the job for us. Not sure what we will get this time as we will need 2 I think. Something more basic for my son now he's older I guess.

I had a manual pump last time, glad I didn't fork out for an electric one as breastfeeding didn't work out for me. I will be giving it a go this time and if all goes well I will get the Lanisoh or Medela electric pump. I would hang on before buying things like that before baby is here. You just don't know how things pan out.
We've got the TT electric steamer as they did it as part of a starter set that is often on offer in Argos/Asda etc.

I've packed the basics in my bag this time, last time I didn't need the majority of it! Xx
