October 2017 Mummies - The last thread :)

Hey, I couldn't finish reading the article . I don't want to get myself stressed out as I know it doesn't make me any good. Anyway I am expecting the worst but hoping for a decent birth :D

Welcome Megan, you are added at the front page, please let me know the gender as well if you decided to know x

Olivia well done with sorting out with the maternity pay!

Flick, I am really jealous on anyone going on holidays at the moment as my next one will be next year :( Surely you will relax and have an amazing time in the sunshine.

I am not stressing out about visits after birth as is just me and hubby here, our families are abroad and I need to tell them when to come. My sister will be visiting mid November so at least I will have time to feel like a human again. Hopefully.

Yesterday I received a letter from health visitor! They will be visiting us on 30th August . Anyone else received that? Wondering what is going to be like.

Today I started work at 12, I couldn't woke up in the morning, baby was active all day and all night and did not get much sleep. I felt exhausted.

x

Oh....does the health visitor get involved before the birth? I thought it was only after the birth they visit if you accept? I've not heard anything from a health visitor.

OH isn't understanding when I said I'd like 1 week after birth to feel human again before we are bombarded with visitors but he doesn't agree. He said I can go upstairs and sleep and leave baby with the visitors :/ I feel very overprotective already and I know I won't want the baby to leave my side. Am I overreacting? Or being unfair?

Last night was the best nights sleep I've had in ages. I was sooooo tired from not sleeping the night before and having 2 super busy days, I was exhausted. I decided I might need to start taking an afternoon nap as I am super tired all the time.

Baby has been moving so much today, can see my belly move in all directions which is nice to watch

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!! Any plans??

I think it depends where you are. I don't think they do where I am until after the birth, but I'm sure on some of the forums different areas get a visit before.

I don't think its unfair to want time. I'm planning on playing it by ear. I wont tell family when I go into labour, my mum and dad will probably visit once baby is here if I'm in hosp for a bit, but then I'm hoping to at least get a day or two once home to settle down. Fortunately OHs parents live about 3 hrs away and don't seem to do anything in a hurry so I'm hoping for a bit of time there. I don't think you're being unreasonable. You need to do what works for you.

This afternoons nap was a must have. I feel so much better. Thought I'd got chilli out of the freezer and now realised that its spag bol mince. Decided I wanted an indian takeaway instead!

My plan for the weekend- chill and sleep. Fingers crossed x

Just picked up a missed voicemail from my doctors on Thursday asking me to call them. That's something to worry about all weekend now!

I'm sure everything will be fine when you call doctors! I too have to call the midwife on Monday as I have no next appointment booked and I've heard nothing since my GTT I had on Tuesday.

My skin has started to become really itchy again :( which is a pain as I haven't had this since around 20 weeks.

Thanks Olivia. The only things I'm thinking it can be is them telling me I need a whooping cough vaccine (and not realising I've already had it) or something to do with the bloods, and that can only really be that I'm anemic as everything was fine before. Just annoying as no matter how much I tell myself that my brain is still ticking over.

I can see we are both having another excellent nights sleep!x

Haha I couldn't sleep last night and I know tonight will be the same!! Never mind. These iron tablets are affecting me now...i feel so bloated and uncomfortable. A trip to the chemist on Monday to see what advice I can get!!

Mothercare emailed me today and it looks like they have started to introduce their winter range.....loving it as it's unisex :D and not overly pricey.

Anyone else finding their appetite is vanishing? Maybe it's due to the iron tablets....

I was awake from 0430 onwards, but managed a nap between 1000-1200. It was amazing.
My appetite is pretty big at the mo, but I cant eat too much at once otherwise I get really uncomfortable. I'm not on iron tablets though so your lack of one could be linked to that.

I'm getting so much movement at the moment from Dave, which is really good, but occasionally quite uncomfortable. It makes me worry about how it will feel when she gets bigger x

I am getting a lot of movement too, it even woke me up the other night! I'm trying to enjoy it as I know it'll be over so soon!

I slept all the way through last night...which felt amazing!!!! Mega cleaning day today so I will hopefully make myself super tired so I can sleep again tonight

Well, went for a 4d scan today, was so excited...but it defo wasn't to be!
She is breech, and facing my back, properly tucked away, head literally as far away from my front as possible!
She had the cord in front of her, and my placenta is anterior.
She wouldn't move for anything, jumping up and down, sugar, they sent me on an hour walk, but even worse when I got back!
So I'm booked in for a re scan a week tomorrow. Hopefully she would have moved, but now I'm worried she is comfy being sat up, and won't move - plus it's going to be one hell of a movement I will feel when she does move!
Good news is she is fine, measurements are spot on and current weight at 3lbs 6oz!! Which seems quite a lot, lol! She could also see tiny hair strands on her head - my daughter was a complete baldy so some hair will be nice.

I got a great picture of a perfectly formed hand, lol! X

Haha, naughty baby. But a great looking hand though! And you get to see her again in just over a weeks time.
Guessing that's going to be a big movement when she moves from breech. Hopefully it might sneak in while you're asleep. I hadn't really thought about how much these babies weight now. I'm interested x

Oh wow....i was thinking about going for a 4d scan thing from groupon but haven't bothered as yet. Its a shame you didnt get to see LO today :( and sucks about the position. Hopefully next time will be different! 3lbs 6oz that's amazing :)

Heartburn has been at an all time high this weekend...nothing offering relief :( blaaaah

Been going through the clothes we have left so far and I've noticed we have only 2 newborn outfits. Any recommendations for soft feeling sleepsuits? I just want plain white/cream for the first week or so but can't seem to find any that don't feel like sandpaper

Amy, I am sure all is going to be fine with the doctors x No point to stress until you don't speak to see what is all about.
I had leucocites ++ in my urine at last appt and they suspect i might have an UTI. However I don't feel any different just a little pain in my lower abdominal area. Waiting for the results now..

Looks like in my area I will have an antenatal visit from health visitor and next ones will be after birth.

Bought my first pack of nappies today haha ! I felt a bit behind and I will try to buy little by little all the things I still need.
I am annoyed that it had been 2 weeks since I ordered my cot matress from M&S and still did not hear anything from them so I will give them a call tomorrow

My baby was a bit quiet yesterday but he came back to normal today with lots of movements.

Wohoo 3lb 4 oz already a good weight, I am always wondering how much my baby weights.. Such a good looking hand x!
I am so tempted to go for a 4d scan but we are tight with money atm :(

x

Babybond were doing a 25% off deal, and I wanted a later scan to see how growth and weight were progressing.
The 4d bit I did see was amazing! And at least I get to go back - tho she said she is now running out of room in there, so they don't really recommend them after 32-33 weeks. My cousin had come from London especially, to see a hand, lol!
At least I will know by 31 weeks if she is still breech, and I can discuss it at my 31 week mw appt...

I've just ordered a few bits from next - I've been picking up newborn stuff as I've been going along, so have plenty (especially if on course for an 8lb'er!). So my most recent order was 3-6 months, I ordered loads and obviously forgot about it! Their sleep suits are lovely - not at full price they aren't, but at half price, makes it more reasonable!
X

Morning

How was everyones weekend? I have been wondering about the 4d scan but they freak me out a bit at the same time lol x

Weird question, but has anyone else stopped gaining weight? I weighed myself this morning and have lost 1lb in 3 weeks, doesn't sound like much I would have assumed I would be heavier and makes me worried for tomorrow midwife appointment if the baby is going to measure small again as that would be another scan and she won't sign my fit to fly? x

Morning x

Flick, I stopped stepping on the scale as I put quite a lot of weight and I started to get very depressed about it. I don't think I am eating less but I read that as the baby is growing and pushing all organs up it is normal for appetite to decrease in trim 3 so nothing to worry

I had a nightmare with the delivery last night! I was trying to push the baby out but failed and they called the doctor to proceed the c-section and he said to my mum that I have a bleeding inside and it is too late for the baby but he will try to save me if he can . Oh Gosh..

I never thought I will say that but I love the rain and I am happy the heat is gone :D

Hi all,

Allysa- freaky dream. Fortunately I've not had, or don't remember any like that!
Flick- I don't really use my scales much as I don't think they are that accurate. I agree with Allysa though in the fact that, while I feel hungry a lot, I cant actually eat much at the mo cos there's not much space. Hopefully they wont be worried and will sign the fit to fly form. Surely all our bumps/weight gain is individual so hopefully this is all ok for you and your body.

Surprise, surprise, I'm anaemic. Finished work early as my sleep last night was awful and I'm shattered. Been an picked up my prescription for iron tablets, so hoping I will perk up soon. Pretty proud with myself actually as I am usually terrible with tablets but I managed to swallow the capsule with no drama. Fingers crossed for the next 99 doses! x

Amy it is good they picked it up now and you were put on iron tablets.Have a nap and hopefully you will feel better later x

I was wondering if anyone is still taking daily pregnancy vitamins ? When I moved I don't know where I put them and I am feeling very guilty for not taking them, it has been 2 weeks now.

I'm only taking vitamin D, and that's just because I work in an office with no windows. I just took my folic acid tablets til they ran out (around 17w) cos throwing them away seemed like a waste.
I wouldn't bother about taking anything unless you feel a particular need to x

I was told to take folic acid and vitamin d throughout pregnancy at one of my early midwife appointments...i picked up folic acid and vitamin d tablets from boots with 90 tablets in a pack (buy one get one free) so the 180 tablets would more than see me through....although I do forget to take them daily. Pregnacare stopped me from pooping :( which is probably caused the low iron levels!

I also find myself not being able to eat loads and heartburn is horrendous at the moment. I am drinking Davison and eating Rennie tablets.....no relief :(

I just looked into some 4d scans and there's a deal on group on for window to the womb for £79 and can go until 34 weeks. I may book one......30 weeks tomorrow!!!!
