*** October 2015 Mummies ***

Congratulations Stacey, that's lovely news that you're expecting a little girl. :)

KHTW - damn stretch marks, I have a feeling I'm going to get quite a few. I already have some from a growth spurt during my teens and I know my mother has them too. I've already used a whole bottle of Palmers body lotion and about a third of a bottle of Bio Oil. I know if I'm going to get them nothing will stop it but I'm trying everything I can do lessen them as much as possible!

Just had the scariest 24hrs. Had the most awful cramping pains from 5am yesterday, ended up on maternity unit overnight for monitoring. Really thought it was all over at one point. Turns out I just have a bit of "family bbq belly". Bit embarrassing but when I thought about the alternative, it's really not that bad to be a bit red faced. Still got a horrible cramping tummy today but at least not in labour! My 20 week scan is tomorrow.

LT and Karolina, I have stretch marks from puberty, but last pregnancy, none of them played up. I put this entirely down to bio oil. I used it religiously twice daily last time and doing the same again.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your holidays MrsS

Omg Fliss - glad to hear it all turned out to be OK. Bet you can not wait for your scan! you must have been terrified! these little people keep us on our toes from the minute we find out we are having them!

Congrats Shelly! a pink one to add to the crew :) yay!

I have a poorly 10 yo at the moment, he has a nasty virus that is hurting his legs, poor little man! but he is on the mend, so we are hoping for a lovely weekend ahead.

Looking forward to more scan updates, we are all flying through this trimester it seems! I can't believe it is nearly June!

Oh my goodness flisstebs what a nightmare, I'm so relieved for you it was nothing!!! Always better to be safe than sorry, like you said I'd rather have a ton of false alarms than the alternative and ignoring it!

I've been soooo sick again today and had to have a 2hr nap this afternoon as still no energy :( I watched something on the news about overweight pregnant women having obese babies, lol I had to laugh there is no chance my baba has been exposed to junk food and bad lifestyle when I throw up what I eat and have no appetite!!! Such a load of rubbish!!

Sorry to hear of your scare Fliss but it must've been a nice BBQ hehe (phew) I keep thinking now that I can't wait to get to 24 weeks as that is another milestone ...

Pleased to say I can now feel little bumps going on all throughout the day it's so cute and makes me stop for a minute in the middle of the mayhem at work and smile to myself :)

I'm going to ring my midwifes tommo as I haven't received my exemption certificate for prescriptions, dental care etc...my gums are bleeding so much it's really gross when I brush my teeth. I had this last time too. Also I'm not seeing midwife until July but I'll need my MATB1 before then to give to work and discuss maternity leave - return to work stuff

Has anyone else decided what they are doing mat leave-wise? I'm hoping to have 10 months off (with a bit of A/L in there) and then go back 3 days a week long-shifts. Fingers crossed that will be ok

Bunnykins, must be awful still being sick, I can't imagine how bad that is to be still barfing now. I'm just wolfing down pizza, cramping gone and appetite back!

Stacey, I'm planning 6 months off (don't have much choice really), I finish beginning of Sept at 36 weeks. I have got a maternity locum sorted though but its going to be a difficult 6 months for us financially. I still take home my profit share of the business but have to pay my locum, it sucks! Oh well, better get used to having no money for when we have 2 sets of nursery bills net year

Fliss - oh god what a worry with cramping, so glad was dodgy tum instead!
Eeeek here you are at 20 weeks already!!
Enjoy your scan tomorow - will look out for a piccy xx

I'm glad you're cramping has gone phew :) yeah it's pretty crappy I'm kind of half used to it as part of my day/routine now and half really really down about it :( I just want to feel 'normal' there is so many things still set me off and foods I can't even have in the house :( there is even a muller rice advert that makes me vomit if I catch it on the TV lol!!!! Oh well only another 23 weeks to go

Stacey I think I'm going on mat leave on 13th October but am taking 3 weeks hols before that, then I'm back at work on 1st August and will do my 4 days that I do now as it worked for me with my little boy. I've already got baba a place at same nursery as my son with the days confirmed lol have to be organised as there is a waiting list :) will be weird that they will share a nursery for a month then my boy will be starting school argh scary thought!!!!!!

Fliss - oh bugger that sounds harsh having to pay for someone else to cover your mat leave :(. Childcare costs are so extortionate they don't make it easy for working families do they. Fingers crossed the new promise of 30 hours free childcare will kick in soon....hmmm we will see x

Bunnykins - that sounds about similar to my plans...before I go back my little girl will turn 3 so at least she will get 15 hours free childcare then, and myself and the other half will share looking after the new baby. Luckily he is self employed so can work on the days I'm off and vice versa.

Oh Fliss that sounds awful - glad it was just a dodgy tummy though  good luck for scan tomorrow.

Mum again I'm still team yellow, Stacey is pink bundle :)

Gail hope you're enjoying your holiday.

Stacey in planning 6mths not starting until 1st Oct (might be a little optimistic here lol). Xx

Oh wow really you're working until the 1st that's brave!, mind you I have heard that some peeps go right up until 2 weeks over due date so you may just be doing the perfect thing for you.

I know I'll be cranky and rubbish at work during those later stages....I worked up until 2 weeks before due date last time and I was dying to be off by then. I'm going at 36 weeks hopefully this time and properly chill for a bit and try to stay calm so my bp doesn't rocket x

Hopefully I'm fit enough to work up until then Stacey :)

Georgesmum it sounds like Braxton hicks, they start about (don't quote me) 16 weeks I think xx

Shelly/Stacey sorry, I am easily confused these days! :)

I am on Mat leave 9th October (37 weeks) until the middle of August, with some annual leave mixed in. Looking forward to getting to know my new bundle and enjoying my oldest boy's last year at Primary School!!! it flashes past in front of your eyes!!

I have a big exam in London next week that I am trying to concentrate on, finding it all a little stressful and wondering why I am doing this, but I am sure it will all be worth it if I can pass it! eeeek!

Oh, fliss - how scary! Glad everything is ok.

I'm 20 weeks today - can't believe it! Half way there!!!

thank god it was only a scare fliss, I'd say you were out of your mind with worry!

I'm a tad worried myself...I'm not getting nearly as movement as I was a few days ago. In fact I don't know if there are any movements at all!! And I've been getting cramps too. They're not stabby or anything like that, just kind of achy and every so often I get a twinge. They're really low...could they be ligament pains? I had some normal cramping a few weeks ago but this is all new.

Normally when I've a hot chocolate the baby kicks loads but this morning I don't think there was much, if anything. Anything I might've felt was really small and not nearly as powerful as a few days ago.

Anyone have any ideas?? I don't know if I should ring my obstetrician or not...

I get those achey cramps too, it's most likely just stretching pains :)

I have an anterior placenta this time, so I still don't feel a lot of movement - it's weird, since I felt loads last time! But I do feel a few wriggles every day, and yesterday got the first proper "kick". I get reassurance from my doppler though, if there's a day I start to worry. I'd say better to call the MW once too many - if only for your own peace of mind! But I reckon its probably just how baby is positioned - if they're kicking into your back, you won't feel as much - and at this stage they still have plenty of room to move around.

yeah maybe that's it. I actually felt teeny movements a little while ago. Maybe he's snuggled in somewhere I can't feel it as easily :)

feeling a bit less stressed about it now :oooo:
