November Mummies! <3

Hope your examination went ok Mayflower.

It's been a long few days for you Starchild, hopefully things start moving along soon.

I've just cleaned the shower in our ensuite and sat in the doorway on the floor for a while afterwards having a rest lol. Got up and had the strangest tingly sensation, was as if I'd pood my pants or something haha! It went a bit heavy down below while tingling, I think it was like extra weight feeling? It doesn't even make sense haha I don't really know how to describe it! I'd imagine it must be baby moving further down or something lol xx

Midwife said head is fully engaged now I'm 36+5 at my 34 week app his head was down but not fully engaged - does this sound like I will most likely go over? If he's only just engaged? Does that make sense haha.

My midwife hasn't said about being engaged or anything, so I have no idea where I'm at. I know when I had my first measurements at 28 weeks she said baby was head down in the right position but that's it. Baby was breech when we had a 4d scan the day before, so flipped quickly! How can they tell about being engaged, just by measuring or an examination? When I was there on Monday she offered me a sweep at my next app on Monday, I imagine she'll tell me then?

What's the difference between being engaged and effaced? Xx

Had my 38 week appt today. Baby’s head is engaged, 2/5

There was a student midwife there too which I much prefer having one there, the midwife goes into so much more detail for them

April could be the head engaging or baby getting lower in the pelvis. It should say on your notes if head is engaged & by how much like 2/5ths etc they feel baby and if the head can't move it's because it's engaged. They'll try and rock baby's head if it's engaged it'll be sort of locked into place? That's how my midwife explained it.

I'm not sure what effaced means but I think it's to do with readiness for labour?

Pessary has been in for 4 hours & not felt a thing. There's literally just me on the ward & 7 empty beds. X

Hope I don't go over :(

Aww Starchild! Hope things pick up for you glad you got seen to today! How old is your daughter? Is she excited? X

Do you all get examined vagunally to check if baby's effaced? My midwife just said all they measure is if the baby is engaged or isn't engaged.. I want her to have a look at my cervix lol

Ive started with some pretty constant period type cramps which seem to get worse in waves. Also needing a wee every 4 seconds. And some tightenings. I think things are starting to happen but don't want to get my hopes up.

My daughter is 3, she's excited talking about her brother & such, & she bought him a teddy yesterday when out with her grandparents, but not sure if she's 100% sure what's going to happen that we'll be bringing a tiny baby home.

The only time I got examined was when they tried to give me a stretch and sweep. X

It's been a loooooong day...I was 3-4cm at 8am, 4cm at 2.30pm so they broke my waters but had significant meconium, then 6cm at 7pm. They've given me til 11pm to get to 8cm, if I'm there they'll let me keep going and review it again. If I'm not then it'll be c-sec.

Pessary inserted at 1pm, period pains from 5pm increasing in intensity with tightenings. Paracetamol & codeine did nothing, was checked at 8:30pm 'cause I was in agony, still 1cm dilated... was devastated! Baby was back to back so suffered severe back pain until around 10pm when they gave me diamorphine reluctantly because I think they thought I was being a wimp...Slept until half 11 woke up with painful contractions, everything hurt sitting / standing / squatting. Felt like I needed a poo, midwife was gonna examine when my waters went. Whisked round to delivery ward, could barely sit in the wheelchair, midwife phoned OH at 12:15. He missed it as our baby was born at 12:37am. I was in active labour for less than 1 hour.

8lb 10oz, but he's not chunky, more long.

OH just left so we're all hoping for sleep now.

How are you feeling Mayflower? My LO had also pooed before birth so in for obs until dinner time. X

Baby Madison was born at 10.56pm on 2/11/17 by emergency c-section! She weighed 8lbs 3oz so not overly huge like they predicted.

Congrats Starchild, can't believe it all happened so quick for you!

The earliest I'll be going home is Sunday!

Congratulations Mayflower! Make sure to take full advantage & rest whilst you can in hospital.

I've just been moved to recovery unit. Baby's temp is a little low but other than that no major concerns. He's been very placid. Can't get over how big & heavy he is.

3 babies down... wonder who will be next?! X

Congratulations ladies, so pleased for all of you :) Xx

Hope you're ok after the section Mayflower, have you had one before? If you get any shoulder pain, ask for peppermint oil / water is my biggest tip!! Xx

Congratulations to you both girls! How lovely!

Really ready now and keep thinking how lovely it would be to have a baby and be home by the end of the weekend. Wishful thinking ey haha. Xx

Congratulations Mayflower and Starchild. Lovely to see another couple of babies here safely.

Thanks for all your suggestion about my family issues, it's been ok over the past couple of days. I have been more specific about asking them to do things and take my toddler out, giving me time (and space) with baby. That said I am really looking forward to Sunday afternoon when they will both be gone and it will just be me, OH and our 2 girls.

How are the rest of you ladies doing?

Em x

Pleased things are better Emma.

Well, I'm fine but unfortunately still pregnant haha. Xx

Good morning - hope everyone is feeling ok today? How are the new babies?

I'm on final countdown before Monday, spending the day stripping beds and doing lots of washing!! xx
