*** November 2014 Mummies! ***

I will have alot more photos after the weeks holiday so will be able to post a better shot.

We are off to the lakes and yes rain is forecast. Oh well...

when you talking monitors assume your talking baby monitors ?

I havent started looking but if I had to buy today I would go for the all singing all dancing angle care one. (another expense...OH parents have offered to buy us a gift...its difficult to know what they were thinking budget wise) but may suggest that as a gift!

Apple, they're both nice. I like the style of the Kiddicare one, with the natural wood.

And that looks like a perfect bump for your gestation! Mine looks bigger because there's more fat on it, especially at the top. If you compare it to other people in the 2nd tri picture thread, it looks like the right size.

yes when I compare online it looks ok! But when I compare with people in the street I look massive. I think maybe because Im short it doesnt help. keep telling myself it is what it is...

we both prefer the kiddicare one... (although until we see it can not make a decision). My sister has seen it and says its really nice but the wood is very orange on the dresser.

The good thing about moving from a 1 bed to a 2 bed property is that you can justify the purchase of new baby furniture... Im sure otherwise my Oh wouldn't let me buy new furniture and just make do, as it is we just have an empty room....although I keep putting all my baby purchases in the room. ;-0

Our bases were £155 so £20 off but definitely not as good as yours. Most of the stands there had good discounts off older baby products. Think its just luck as to if they reduce the ones your after. They had a mothercare and toys r us stand which had 10% off normal store prices. So im hoping its the same next year, and I hope they have the 2way at a nicer price. But only time will tell. Got a great bargain on my maxi cosi pushchair and pebble because toys r us were doing 20% off. I'll decide next year if I'll definitely be getting it there.

Just had a little cry at work because one of the managers keeps referring to me as fatty. Really don't like it. Today he said I wasn't pregnant I just had bad wind!

We have a tiny box room that doesn't even fit a normal bed in for the baby, so I can't get much furniture. I'm just getting a cheap cotbed and we're using a chest of drawers from our bedroom, but it will have to go on the landing outside. So I can't really justify buying nice fancy furniture, shame because some of it is lovely.

I'm relying on one of the stepkids moving out when the baby is old enough to need a full bed. One is nearly 18, they can't stay much longer can they...? If they do, I'll just make them share their room with the toddler, that'll make them get out, haha!

With the bump in real life thing, is it not just perspective? You don't see yourself as you really are in person, partly because of the angle you look at yourself. I have the opposite perspective of my bump. It seems quite small until I walk past a window or mirror. Also, I forget where it ends and keep catching it on things!

Aww, Mellie. People think they are being funny but they don't realise how it affects us sometimes! Could you mention it to another colleague for him to have a quiet word, in a way that doesn't make a drama out of it?

Oh Mellie... People can be so insensitive... pregnant women should not be joked with! I would get it nipped in the bud though.. I think if he knew he made you cry he would be mortified.

NJP...lol.. I was still living at home at the age of 29!!! yes only way I could save for a flat! (I did have 7 years at University though)
We now have (as of last month) 2 large doubles... It wont be the nursery I dreamed of though as its rented property and My OH has his electric piano in there also. (he plays with headphones on)

He's a manager, and a higher up than standard manager so I can't really. Im off for 2 weeks now though :) but if he carries on when he gets back I'll probably say something.

I'm not getting fancy nursery furniture, just normal ikea stuff I think. Some of the sets are gorgeous but most are so expensive, plus generally the wardrobes seem to be tiny.

I moved out at 18, as did my brother. Although we both returned for a short period. My mom had the space though so we kind if had the option. Im sure at least one will move out soon....maybe....hopefully..... haha

Mellie ikea furniture is brilliant! However the walk round 3 huge floors whilst heavily pregnant is not! Were due to go next week and I'm dreading it as hubby wants to stop and look at every bloody item!

I moved out at 16 into my hubby's mums home but went back home a few times when we argued to the point of splitting! Would love to move back home at times just so I had no worries of cooking or cleaning haha!

We'll be going in the next 2 weeks. My boyfriend is pretty good when it comes to shopping, he just stands back and lets me do it. Unless I pull a face and want him to decide a bit. But generally whatever I pick he's happy with, as long as I don't pick a stupidly expensive thing! Haha

When i found out I was pregnant I also found out I had rhesus negative blood. My mom was determined it wasn't her that gave it me, so rummaged around and found her pregnancy notes (shes a horder!) And she was indeed positive. We therefore assumed it was my dad that had negative blood. Dad had an operation not long ago and is on warfarin to thin his blood so has regular tests. At his last one he asked what his blood type was out of curiosity.

Anyway just had a phone call off my dad.......and he has positive blood too. How strange is that, text my mom to ask if she is really my mother! As I look exactly like my dads family. A Google search tells me your blood has two rhesus status' attached to it. So even when positive you can be + and - at the same time. This blood stuff is very very complicated! Haha

I have no idea what my blood type is! I think my mum had rhesus negative though! Think in the olden days they had to carry a card around for it? I'm not sure I could be wrong! I'm only going ikea for baby's draws! £35 and Myah's have lasted so well especially to say she went through a phase of pulling the bottom drawer out and sleeping in it!

Apple honestly ive seen bigger than you! If i could upload a pic on here of mine i would. Its a weird angle so looks low down but like a football shoved in top or something haha!! Wonder if it doesnt help that ur oh is away?!

Well i got the pram yesterday! The hauck colt i wanted from tesco i was told i couldnt have (hubby said its cream and it will get dirty quickly then i will moan and want a new one) this is true to be fair haha! Anyway we went to babies r us to look at one he suggested but its one were the pushchair is already attached and u clip other bits on top. Its bulky and awful. I hated it. Great offer but still no thanks and no parent facing option!
Asked assistant if anything that just has a frame and all bits attach seperately....but for as close to 200 as possible. Ha. So she shows us this graco symbio. Looks nice ticks all my boxes easiest one ive seen so far to attach and put down etc. Its fab! She told us wrong sake deal coz wrong label in so she had to honour it and we got it all for 249 when should be over 350. Bargain or what!! They are storing it there for us too so we can save space at home til we want to collect it.

Also not sure if this is every babies r us but the one we went to in warrington is having a parents evening on wed 20th august 20% off. So we are going back then to get steriliser and breast pump and monitors :)

Xx

Im not sure, years ago they never even knew about rhesus negative, it was some massive breakthrough when they discovered it because they had no idea why some babies weren't thriving. My mom has some pregnancy book from when she was pregnant (like I said horder!!) and that says it was discovered about 25 years previously so would be the 50s I imagine. Meaning my grandparents could well have been negative yet they never knew. Could explain why my dad ended up being an only child though.

Your pushchair sounds like a right bargain, nice that they're storing it there for you too. Toys r us/babies r us have been really good whenever we've been. Helpful without being too in your face. What colour pushchair is the one you've got them? I'd have avoided cream too, I'd have been scared to go anywhere remotely muddy!

Strange about the rhesus blood type hun. Dont know enough about all that stuff!

Its grey but like a denim effect grey its really nice im just crap at describing things haha!! X

Ohh no that sounds lovely, grey pushchairs are nice. Im just in major grey phase recently though! Haha

I feel like I'm going to be a human pin cushion from now until baby is born. Was listing all the needles im going to have to have to my mom yday and its ridiculous. Even once baby is here I'm going to have to have an anti D jab and then one for rubella. I assume at that point I'll be too busy recovering from labour to care though!

Yeh its like dark grey. If u google graco symbio urban its that.

U have one at 28 weeks dont u but not sure of others after that? Do they give u one immediately after labour coz if so they can just shove it in u whilst ur unaware haha!! X

Kaa, the symbio looks nice. Your boyfriend's reason was the same reason why I didn't want beige or cream! I'd have it looking grubby within a week. I think lime green pushchairs would end up the same. I'm getting a dark plum one. It is £30 more expensive than the black one but I don't mind, for some things you have to pay out a bit more to have the pretty!

Mellie, the rhesus negative thing comes because we have two genes for everything (almost), one from each parent, and the Rh+ is dominant, but if both of your parents carried one positive and one negative gene, it seems they've both given you their negative gene. If your husband is negative, your child will be but if he's positive, it's 50:50 whether your child will be.

But I bet for a few minutes you were wondering about your parentage, haha!

Going back to teenagers moving out - the eldest is applying to uni and said we can use her bedroom after she leaves. I said she'll need it in uni holidays and probably when she first leaves uni as many people move back for a while and she said 'no it's okay, I'll just get a job and a place of my own'. Oh, the naivety - as if everyone doesn't just want to do that!

Bump is still sore today, but more the muscles just above my pubic bone now. DW says I look much bigger, so perhaps a growth spurt combined with the slight SPD has pulled or stretched my abdominal muscles? I can walk today, but it's a bit of a waddle!
