*** November 2014 Mummies! ***

I think I have it straight after birth but I'm not sure. Just got a letter through from the hospital. Proper panicked when I opened it wondering what it was. Its just for my anti D jab, didn't know I had to have that at the hospital. Means I'll have to have more time off work, which they wont be happy with but they have no choice! Haha :)

I'd just move baby into her room then make her move into the little room if she came back. Thats what my mom did with my brother because I'd stolen his room!

She already has the little room, lol! She has the box room above the stairs that is typical in 3 bed semis. The baby's room is smaller again, it is part of the extension & I'm not sure she could lie down flat in it, it's that small! The baby's room will do until it's about 4ft tall, at a push. But surely, out of 3 of them, one is going to want to leave soon.... I'll just make their rent so high it's not worth them staying ;)

What a shame that you will have to have more time off work!

Ahh yes the box room used to be my home too, I was just fortunate that my brother moved out when I was about 13. So got to spend my teenage years in the big bedroom! No point worrying about the bedroom situation too much yet, people cope in tiny houses with loads of children so I'm sure you'll be ok.

Got home from work yday to find my OH had emptied the nursery and stripped most of the wallpaper. This morning he's finished the stripping and cleaned up all the bits. Got to go the shops shortly to get a scrubbing brush for the walls (uncovered weird green/blue/cream bits which keep flaking off) and also get all the wallpaper we need so he can put that up tomorrow. Its so exciting, cannot wait for it to be finished! :)

Ooh, sounds like you're making progress on it! My nursery is at the stripped stage, but still with old flaky paint on. I want paint so it needs sanding off then painting, DW said she will do that soon. Haven't picked a colour though, I need to find my curtain material then I can pick some paint to go with it.

We're only putting lining paper up, then painting onto that. Got our paint today a darkish blue and then a light grey, and I've ordered a puppy dog border for the middle. Our walls are all terrible so kind of have to line before painting.

We scrubbed the walls earlier (I say we, he scrubbed I followed round and wiped a little.) Started off with 2 little scrubbing brushes....getting nowhere fast. So OH decided scrubbing the walls with the broom would be better. It was, but the broom is now knackered!

I have no idea what I'm going to do for curtains/blinds yet. Not sure if I want to go blackout or not, just don't want the baby to become dependant on the dark for sleeping.

I don't think I'll go for full blackout, but I'm planning something heavy - if the material I want to use isn't thick I'll be lining it. I sleep with an eye mask and made my parents get me a blackout blind as a kid so I know I'm sensitive to light. The sun shines into the nursery in the evening so I do want some of the light muted to help her get a bedtime routine. I do agree with not relying on full blackout though.

So many decisions to make, just dont know what to do. Buying furniture this week, but being given a cot bed so kind of worried the cot bed wont match the other furniture. :/

Our nursery has white walls and the main one is wallpapered with a stripey blue wallpaper. Its a very light soft blue in 2 different shades but its silky like and a little shuny sounds awful again im sorry for bad descriptions ha but its lovely. My favourite colour is blue so im happy with it for boy or girl.

Went to a little shop in a town near me that just sells material and got a load of beige material with little cream embriodered squares on it apparently its john lewis material yay haha. My nans made curtains so im picking them up later. We have a cream blind in there but i wanted curtains too. Im making my own tie backs.

Nursery furniture is all cream and wood so hopefully be quite a warm feel to the room when its all finished xx

I like stripey walls in nurseries, my OH wasn't so keen though and I didn't want to argue just in case I didn't like it once it was done. I made him redecorate our bedroom because I changed my mind once it was done, he wasn't happy! Haha

I might go into town to the markets at some point in the next 2 weeks to get material. I'm planning on making a few mkre things so might give curtains a go too. Its only a small window so if it goes wrong I won't have lost too much.

Its ridiculous how fast time is going now. It seemed like decorating the nursery was ages away. Baby is going to be here before we all know it! :)

Yeh its like stripes but u cant really tell as the 2 shades of blue are so similar.

Good idea i just know im no good at making things like that and its a huge window. But like i said dont mind having a go at tie backs haha. Hope u manage to find a bargain on some nice material!!

I know its scary!! In less than 5 weeks i will be 30 weeks and starting to think about hospital bag birth plan and making sure everything ready. Its so close now its crazy!

I think im going to have to do some christmas shopping this month so i know its sorted in advance as cant imagine me doing the usual last minute xmas dash with a 5 week old baby!

I've already written down what everyone is getting for Christmas. I too do not fancy going round the shops either heavily pregnant or with a little baby. The majority of the presents are going to be a picture of the baby in a personalised frame. That means I'll get over 50% of the presents from one website. Not going to order those until October/November time though I think. As soon as the Christmas cards are in the shops I'll get them too. I'm nornally fairly organised with Christmas, but this is going to be going to the other extreme!

Its my OHs bday in September, tried to be organised by getting his cards the other day. Couldn't find a "from the bump" one anywhere. So annoying, and when I next go into town he'll probably be with me so it'll be a lot harder to try and sneakily buy one.

Can you find a card like that online? And what does the cotbed look like?

My nursery is going to be bright, probably yellow walls and the curtains are going to have jungle/safari animal print on them. I've sent for some swatches from one website. I'm getting wall stickers and mobile etc that all have a jungle/safari animal theme.

Am I being overly pedantic to be annoyed that they call things 'jungle friends' when it's things like giraffes and lions who don't actually live in jungles?

Mellie have a look online at moonpig or somewhere, I got dan a Father's Day card that said lots of love from
Bump, and it was really nice, and got a photo done of the scan on the card :) it's worth paying £2.49! Xoxox

I found a fathers day one from the bump easily, you'd think they'd keep birthday ones in too! At least I haven't got to battle around trying to find a Christmas one.

My niece has a jungle theme, its lovely she's got some lovely wallpaper. They say jungle its more just wild animals theme I suppose as you can also get farmyard, underwater etc.

I have no idea what the cot bed looks like, last time I saw it was 2 years ago when OH was living with his sister still. I think its quite dark wood, but I wanted to get white furniture so not sure if it'll all look silly together :/

Could you paint it? Or get some white furniture that has a dark wood trim?

I've had a stressful afternoon with the stepson refusing to do anything while me and his sister clean up and get ready for the holiday. I was on the verge of throwing his Xbox out of the window at one point. Calmed down a bit now and settled for stashing it under my bed.

Not sure about painting it, was wondering that but didnt know if it would be safe for baby. Had a look at wood trim furniture but it was all expensive. Think I might just have to settle for mismatch. Not like he'll be in the cotbed forever anyway.

Was going to say you should hide it somewhere, best way to get a child to learn is to take away something they love. My brothers play station used to get taken off him all the time.

We've finished papering the walls now, absolutely exhausted and I only did a little bit of the work!

Cant wait to see all of ur finished nurseries!!
I get what u mean about jungle friends haha. Dont think they did their research before naming them. Would be better to call them safari friends ha.

Good call on hiding the game i hate those things anyway. How did he take that??

No comment made on the removal of the Xbox at all - it's a regular occurrence here too! Once he lost it for about a month. And he didn't have normal TV in his room, or a mobile. I was tempted to give it back so many times after weeks of Dave tv channel in the living room, haha! But I stuck to my guns. His mum spoke to him last night & told him off for stressing me out when I'm pregnant.

I know what you mean about paint, Mellie, you'd have to find some you'd be happy using and not sure what is safe for babies.

Also - is anyone else getting really hungry? Yet again I've had a huge bowl of sultana bran for breakfast and I'm still ravenous. I've been having two breakfasts lately. Yesterday I had 3 pieces of toast and half an hour later had to have cereal. MW said I'd only need an extra 200 calories in the third tri - I'm not there yet and eating easily more than 200 extra calories!

Hey girlies, sometimes I totally forget about this forum because if the Facebook page haha.
Juicy I've been eating loads, and I mean I woke up at half 6 this morning had a bowl of rice crispies, then went back down stairs had a slice of toast, fell asleep and just woke up, now sitting here with my second bowl of cereal lol.
I don't want to put a lot of weight on but I think it's gona happen lol. Xxx
