My BLW journal

I will continue to update this journal as it is helping lots of people and I don't want to stop helping :)

ROL-enjoy those books :) they're fab! The cookbook is very basic but easy to adapt and I made pizza in 30 minutes from there the other day :)
Good idea regarding nanny's and holding off for a week :) it won't hurt him x x

Thanks for the comments ladies :)

Saturday 23rd April
Breakfast was........red grapefruit!!!! He loved it! Kept going back again and again!
Snack was apple and plum. He likes plum anyway but up until today he hasn't been fussed with apple. This time he wolfed it down! Watching him chewing is brilliant!
Lunch was skipped for bottle and bed :)
Snack was red pepper strips with hummus dip and rice cakes.
Dinner was homemade pizza. I literally threw it together in 30 minutes! He was orange!!!! He took it apart, ate the topping and then sucked the base :D lol! Brilliant!

Glad to see you back hun

Did he not foind the grapefruit bitter?

Do you make the hummus yourself Helen? Or if you buy it which one do you get?

I make a mean 'live' hummus which is incredibly good for you but takes a few days to make. I sprout the chickpeas first but not sure if I should do this for a baby?

I make it :) I put the red pepper hummus recipe on the 'what did your baby eat today' thread and to make regular you just don't add the red pepper x
Don't see why you shouldn't make 'live' hummus! Sounds great!!!

Yay! :D glad to hear it! I'm so glad this is helping and inspiring so many people! :)

Sunday 24th April

Happy Easter!!!!

Breakfast was yogurt with some fresh, squashed blueberries on the side! We stripped him before the yogurt as, through past experience, we've learnt it gets very very messy :D wouldn't have it any other way! Lol! The blueberries were chewed intently and the yogurt was spooned in and spat out! Lol! Lots of face pulling with the yogurt too!
Snack was some kiwi fruit on the train to Manchester airport. He wasn't too sure and mostly it was inspected and squidged!
Lunch was pizza baguette. We've cone to the conclusion he dislikes bread (apart from pitta and tortilla wraps) as he pulls the toppings off, eats them and discards bread! Gives a whole new meaning to deconstructed food :) The cheese and tomato went down very well! He really loves tomato-scraping the flesh off with his gums and discarding the skin!
Snack was banana and nectarine on the train home from Manchester airport.
Dinner was skipped for a bottle and bed!

Had a great day! He was greatly admired and again we had lots of brilliant comments! He was given an Easter egg that he will not be eating but we did allow him a tiny bit of shortbread which got crumbled and sucked! Lol!

We've noticed a dramatic drop in his bottles now, he's skipping at least one of his daytime ones, and he's asking for food now too!

whats the cookbook like? Is it recipes for us and the babies? i do a mix of tw and blw as h gets fustrated if he cant eat it straight away!!
the organix rice cakes and carrot sticks go down really well with little man!!

Hiya, have loved this thread as it's given me lots of food ideas to try with Ben. Even though he is 9 months and a very good eater there are a few fruits that I have never tried him with...mainly the citrus ones like oranges etc. One thing though, do you just break them up into segments and let him eat it like that or do you then take off the 'inner skin' too if you know what I mean...?
Also how is he coping with the spoon? does he try and use it a lot or is it mainly his fingers? xx

Because BLW is about giving babies the same things the rest of the family are eating (assuming of course that the family has healthy eating and isn't eating take out and fast food every night) the cookbook is just recipes. Not seperate for baby but things the family can enjoy together :) I find it quite basic but easy to adapt and that's why I like it I think :) my advice though is get it from amazon-way cheaper than where I got mine from! Lol!

i made the hummus!!!!!!!!!!! GORGE!!!!!! lo wasnt too keen but i ate it all! :)))
