I've decided to start a journal of Jack's daily routine.

His routine is a little messed up and he still naps like a newborn, roughly 4-5 short naps a day. From today me & OH are going to start trying new things/methods to try and get him into a routine where he wakes, feeds, plays & naps at roughly the same time every day. Hopefully writting it down will help me to begin to see a pattern that Jack can 'slot' into over the next few weeks. We're mainly focusing on his day time naps and the time he goes to bed for the night because at the moment it's anywhere between 10pm & midnight so OH and I have no evening time together to chill.

Feel free to add what you do with your babies to see if there is anything I could try with Jack :)

Thursday 5th Jan 2012 - Try to lengthen awake time.

Night feed @ 3.25am - took 3oz and was asleep by 3.45am.
Woke @ 4.15am and came into bed with me - rarely wakes twice so i'm hoping its a one off.
Woke @ 8.05am - cuddles in bed with Mummy & Daddy :)
Changed nappy @ 8.10 - Wet
Breakfast @ 8.15am - Ready brek using 2oz of milk - Ate it all. Drink of water. Jack is always offered the leftover milk but never wants it.
Dressed @ 9.00am.
Slept @ 9.45am after being played with.
Woke @ 11.00am
Milk @ 11.15am - Drank 3oz which is average for Jack, he has always drunk way under the average for his age since he was born. He has all of his daytime feeds out of Nuby beakers now because he latches onto them alot better. He has his bedtime feed & night feed out of a bottle though because the beaker is faster flowing and i'm worried he might choke when he's sleepy.
Nappy changed at 11.45am - Wet
Lunch @ 12.30pm - Cheesy cod, with mash & broccoli followed by stewed pear & mango and a drink of water. I cook all of Jack's meals from scratch.
Changed nappy @ 1.30pm - Soiled
Slept @ 1.40pm - Left him to self settle but he got upset so rocked him in the end
Woke @ 4.00pm! - Longest nap he's ever had!
Nappy changed @ 4.00pm - Soiled.
Milk @ 4.05pm - 2oz
Dinner @ 5.00pm Roast chicken, mash & veggies followed by a fromage frais & a drink of water.
Nappy changed at 5.50pm - soiled (third time today!)
Slept at 6.00pm
Woke @ 6.45pm
Snack @ 7.00pm - A fruit pot to tide him over until bedtime.
Bath @ 8.30pm
Bottle @ 9.00pm - 3oz
Bed at 9.10pm 3 hours earlier than usual!!!!
To be continued .............

hi there. are you trying to get jack's bedtime a bit earlier? emma has always been a sleepy head but one thing that worked for one of my friends was to do there bedtime routine at 7 each night, (bath bottle story etc)- at the start their babies (twins) didn't sleep until 11pm but it has quite quickly come back to 7.30. other than that he looks like he is making up quite a lot of sleep during the day - maybe cut back the naps?

good luck! oh and awesome eating!
