May mummies and rainbows to be :)

I want a bit of time at home before baby comes. Not too much, a couple of weeks would be nice. Hear that baby, lol!
I found the last couple of weeks very uncomfortable so just want to relax and have some me time. I am also scared my waters would break at work, could you imagine with all the children there! I am glad though that 2 of the weeks won't count as mat leave as we are all off anyway, so technically will be starting mat leave around 20th April I think xx

I was working as an SEN assistant when pregnant with my son and I was worried about going into labour at the school! The kids I was there to work with were soooo interested in how baby would get out haha - I didn't know what to say!

I wasn't entitled to mat leave so was just kinda plodding along as I felt ok but 2 days before the holidays and my due date I was up all night with tightenings so called in sick and had my son that night! Actually worked out very nicely cos I didnt have to sit around waiting for him wheras my daughter was a whole different story! X

Yeah that's what I was feeling last night just my whole tummy going really tight then it was OK again I never had them with my boys.

My little girl still has quiet days so I wouldn't worry too much my mw said to keep an eye on movements from 24 weeks if there is a pattern by then

I've been having braxton hicks for ages now. I get them most days.

My bump goes absoloutely rock solid after an orgasm too.

XX

Orgasm? What is this you speak of? Lol. We havent had any kind of passion since before IVF, to be fair, I don't actually mind as I have low sex drive.
Missyeovil, what a conversation that would be with children, it's always hard when they come out with questions like that. I don't even know what my mat pay is, like how many weeks full pay etc. We will get by though so not too worried, OH worries more than me. Just have to cut back on things I guess.
I never had Brixton hicks with son and I haven't had them yet either. My bump gets tight but not in intervals, just feels tight for the whole evening, I put that down to stretching. I hope it's not a bad thing I haven't had them yet! Xx

Nikki I was wondering if that is what I had the other day, this is my first so it's all new to me. I looked it up and apparently you can get them earlier in pregnancy as I thought it was only a thing in late pregnancy. I had about three episodes of my whole tummy feeling tight, not painful, and it lasted maybe 30 seconds each time. This has happened for about 3 days in the last two weeks, initially I wondered if it was baby rolling over but after reading about it all it makes more sense that they were BH.

I've been feeling regular movements and loving it, but I haven't felt anything at all yesterday or today yet and starting to worry, is this normal? Being pregnant just brings worry after worry! Xx

Try not to worry. I am only noticing patterns of movement now and I am over 23 weeks, I had lots of quiet days around d 20 weeks, I'm sure. I would worry too so I know it's hard not to stress but I am sure bubs is absolutely fine xx

I just want to cry. I am achy and now have a fever and there is nothing I can do about it. I am never travelling to Germany again. How stupid is it that you can't get paracetamol over the counter and then don't have a chemist at the airport?

Hi :) Just had a quick catch up, glad you're all doing well :) Feels like time is flying at the moment! Each week keeps zooming by and before I know it I'm a week closer to due date haha. Hubby had to put all the Christmas decs in the loft the other day so he got all the baby stuff down to pop in the spare room and my god there is SO much! I knew my little girl had a lot of clothes but it's actually quite bad how much was up there and the amount that still had labels on! We had already brought baby some new sleepsuits as she'll obviously be in hand me downs so have started washing the newborn stuff to sort through and will give some to my friend who is a due a girl in March.
Finally decided on the pram we want now and am having a joint baby shower with another friend (also due in March!) on 10th Feb so fairly early but all my friends have said they'll just give us mothercare vouchers so I'll order the pram once we know what we've got from that :)
Emily I had 8 weeks off before my due date with my little girl due to annual leave etc and I loved it! Kept myself busy enough and got plenty of time to relax plus she came at 36+6 so really I only had just under 5 weeks before she arrived lol. This time I'm going to tack my mat leave onto the end due to timings of finding out which school my little girl will be going to so need to know that before I can sort childcare for this bean so hoping by time I have the years mat leave then put annual leave on I'll not be back until July so plenty of time to sort childminder and only 2 months of juggling 2 lots of childcare with work before she'll then be in school  Anyway I'm rambling lol! I'll be having the first week of Easter off then I've got every Friday for the rest of April off before starting mat leave on 1st May so still gives me 3 weeks before due date to relax. Hoping she doesn't come as early as her sister or I'll get no time haha! If I have any signs of her being early though I'll just bring my mat leave forward.
Kabuk I hope you're feeling better soon. Is anyone finding the exhaustion seems to be coming back with a vengeance? The last couple of days I've been as exhausted as I was in the first trimester! Not sure how I'll cope with being back to work tomorrow

Hi, haven't posted for a while and quite a lot of posts since last visit. Am glad the majority of you are well, sorry your unwell Kabuk I hope you are home soon and feeling better.
I have ended up at CHOC this am as had a chest infection all week, just in time for my return to work, docs reluctant to give me anything until today and have finally got some erythromycin as in so much pain coughing etc.
Only just started to feel proper movement yesterday evening and nothing so far today, abdomen feels uncomfortable and have had more pains since returning to work, not sure if its that or a growth spurt that's causing it. Have finally had an excuse to buy stuff after 20 week scan showed all was fine...phew. Our little GIRL looked nice and healthy :) So another on team pink, we seem fairly even with boys versus girls at the min I think x

Congrats on a good news scan and a girl gesic!

Kabuk I hope your flight went well and you are feeling a bit better now.

That will be nice to have a joint baby shower MrsLM. I didn't think I would have one but a couple of my friends have asked now so I'm currently unsure.

I'm not making any plans for starting mat leave. I'm just going to carry on until I can't, I don't really need to give work any notice. Not sure how that works with regard to the official paperwork, I was semi expecting my midwife to have mentioned it at my 24 week appointment but she didn't. I'll ask her about it at the 28 week one.

Congrats gesic.

Thanks everyone. Finally home. When we got into Gatwick I thought I was going to fall over waiting in the passport queue. However, as soon as I got 2 paracetamol in me, within 20 mins I started to feel a bit more human. My fever broke and the aches have dulled. Glad to get home before it wore off. Now, if only I could get to sleep.

Now I've also had another scare. I've just passed a clot. I do bleed daily, but never had a clot pass before. I'm sure all is okay, but was told to contact the hospital if that occurs. I can still feel movement.

Are you contacting the hospital tonight? Hope everything is ok xx

Eek. Have you called the hospital? These babies do like to keep us on our toes.

Snowbee I am going to work until I can't. I'm self employed so I have to. Then back to work asap! My clients have all been great and said I can bring baby with me. Oh is unemployed at the mo so working as much as I can xx

Yes, I spoke with the delivery suite. They say I should come in, but that if the bleeding hasn't gotten worse than normal, that it's okay to wait until morning. Other than the clot, I'm not bleeding anymore than I normally have for the last 12 weeks. Going to give it some time. She said it would be good for them to have a look inside since I've had numerous scans. Whilst it could be the low-lying placenta, it could also be a cervical ectropion that is causing the bleeding. My paracetamol is wearing off but I can't take more for another hour. Hopefully no more bleeding tonight and I can get some sleep.

He's still kicking around in there. Quite active right now. I guess he does move a bit when I'm usually sleeping.

Oh I hope all is OK kabuk x x

I'll update gesic and dovekie tomorrow when I'm off work. We are a very evenly split bunch!

Hope all is ok kabuk X how horrid for you! I hope u get some answers X great he is being active though :) xx

Hope you're OK kabuk, great that he is wriggling around.
Congrats on team pink Gesic xx

Hope all is ok kabuk.

I've got something weird going on with my hand. This last week, on and off on random nights, I've woken up with awful pain in the middle of my left hand, three nights ago it hurt so much I cried and seriously debated waking my oh up and getting him to take me to hospital. Two nights ago it was fine. This morning it woke me up hurting again. I can't decide what could possibly be wrong with it to be so inconsistent? I don't know whether to try and see the GP, go to hospital, call the midwife or what. I've got the vet coming out this morning so I think I'll ask him first and see if it needs an xray or something then I might know which option to take. It is just so odd as one minute it is fine and I can use the hand perfectly the next it is agony. Now I've got up it is fine again?

Could it be carpal tunnel? I have had it before and sometimes would be tingly, numb or painful. Can play up in pregnancy apparently. Maybe give the doctor a call and go from there xx

Hmm googling that now... I'll ask the vet shortly (!) and my MIL is a physio so I'll ask her too.
