Ladies doing their first cycle of IUI or IVF.

I've been using my spare syringes from the last round of IVF to practice injecting on pieces of fruit! Its quite fun! I injected water into an apple and it made it really juicy! I had to push the plunger in quite hard, I think that's when it hurt a bit when DH did it. I'll keep practicing doing it slower just in case he's not around some evenings & I have to do it myself!

And this morning I had my Hepetitis and HIV update blood tests and I actually looked at the needle! I turned away while she was taking the blood, but its a start!

Hi everyone, well after stimming for 2 weeks still nothing happening, the dr has decided for me to stop all meds and see if anything kicks in naturally and re scan in a week.. So frustrating..

Drugs for round 2 just arrived! Does anyone know if Merional and Fostimon need to be refrigerated? Doesn't look like it but just wanted to check. Looks as if only the Ovitrell needs to go in the fridge this time as the Buserelin doesn't. Confused though cos the Menopur did last time.

Well quick update but cycle no3 has been cancelled due to poor response to drugs again, follow up appt next week, hoping no4 will be our turn, it's really getting to us this time. :'( xx

I had my first tracking scan today cd11. I'm feeling very apathetic about this cycle, i don't know why, maybe we should have waited another cycle before jumping back in. Anyway, my lining is a bit thin at 5.3mm (this time last IUI cycle it was nearly 9mm) so i'm a bit worried about that. I have three similar sized dominant follicles at 2x12mm and 1x13mm but 2 of those are on my left side which isn't as good...another scan Friday so we'll see, preying the 12mm on the good right side leaps ahead. I think the actual iui may happen earlier this time as my follicles are a few mm bigger than they were at this stage last time.

Hey Dee just checking in to say massive good luck for this cycle. I'm rooting for you. Also my lining was only 5.5-6mm at trigger, I stressed lots but obviously didn't hinder things. Lots of love xxx

Not sure anyone's in here at the moment but I had my second tracking scan which was mixed...I've got 4 big follicles (3x15mm and 1x16.3mm) so I've had an oestrodiol blood test to see if they all contain eggs...if they do the cycle will likely be abandoned, although the biggest single follicle is on the good side and the other three on the dodge side. If they don't all have eggs in them I'll have the iui either mon or tues, I've another scan booked for Monday morn but suspect the cycle will be cancelled this time, should hear back later today. Urgh, why can't it be straightforward x

You could always ask for a cuddle as you're so disappointed about the IUI being cancelled and then it might 'accidentally' lead to more! If he does twig, you could always say that there will be a maximum of 2 eggs due to the other side being dodgy?!

Dee I have my follow up next Friday, thing was there were 4 v small follies but not growing at the speed they hoped so that's why they cancelled. Also lining was not getting thick enough, tempted to take our chances still though naturally...

Hope you don't get cancelled dee. It is so frustrating isn't it. xx

Always worth trying naturally Lucy, I hope they manage to get the drug regime sorted for you.

Well it seems the consultant is happy to proceed as the biggest follicle is the only one on the right, good side. The other three are a mm or so smaller on the dodge side. So unless the blood test show massively elevated oestriodol later I'm to trigger tomorrow night and have the iui Monday morning. All happened much quicker this time, best bd tonight to get optimum sperm for Monday morning! X

I had two iui cycles cancelled due to too many follicles and we never risked it.... looking back now tho I wish we had!
