Great result tiptoes!!!

Blueflower that's is really positive news, someone who sounds like they are truly on your side and have the knowledge to help you!!! Xx

We have to decide what we want to do, but I think we will do as he suggests. We need to see if our local clinic will do the sperm dna test and arrange it there or at the new clinic. He told us to have a chat over our 7-14 units (!) and email him when we've decided. I will ask if we can get the thyroid test done with our GP as it might be free that way, he might need to write to them, I'll see.

Theoretically we could start this cycle, DH could get the sperm test in the next few weeks, I could start on the ivf drugs and then have the biopsy at the same time as the scratch. Or next cycle might be less of a rush! But I imagined next month as the earliest so that would be fine! He said I could have the nasal spray down regulation drugs instead of the injectable Buserelin which is good news, and would do only one injection for the stims drug, that would be very welcome! And he said the intralipids are probably unnecessary for me, steroids would be fine. Phew! He also recommended IMSI where they select the sperm under a more powerful microscope to ensure they are the best ones. Apparently if you have a high sperm count they can contain a lot of oxygen which can damage the eggs when left overnight to fertilize!

Just got a call from the clinic and they said that only 4 fertilised. Feel a bit despondent now as I was hoping for more and not sure why they are below the normal 60-70 percent fertilisation rate. She said that the other 6 were mature today and it may be that they were immature yesterday. I don't know if that is because I was only stimming for 9 days. I. Think people normally stimm for a bit longer x

Oh that's a shame. Will they give the newly mature ones the chance to fertilize too? Did they do the egg collection too early to fit in with their opening times?

A couple of ladies got IVF BFPs a few months ago with only 4 eggs so you might be ok, quality is better than quantity. X

Don't be too disappointed tiptoes, you often find that numbers drop quite significantly but it only takes one!! We had 16 eggs collected and only 7 fertilised! On day of transfer had 1 strong blasto & 2 little frosties! Stay positive & focused on those 4 little embies!!! Xx

And blueflower that is really positive. And that's great that you can start as early as this cycle. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you x

If you start this cycle we'll be cycling together I think. I've got my scratch on 28th July and when next AF comes in about 4 weeks I'll start swimming so looking at EC around 24th August xx

Thanks guys. Yeh I just need to focus that at least there is still 4 and it only takes one. Collection was either going to be on Friday or Monday and because I had 3 follicles over 17m they went for Friday. They are not open at weekends. Defo a lesson learned there. The embryologist said that the window of opportunity for the others to fertilise had gone. She did say that sperm to egg contact was good so that is encouraging x

Good plan tiptoes! Are you having a 5 day transfer? How do you feel after your collection?? Xx

I have been booked in for weds but they will ring me Monday morning if I need to go in on Monday. I will be on tenterhooks all morning! I feel fine just a bit sore now and again xx

Has anyone had OHSS? Had Iui Monday since yesterday feel bloated and uncomfortable, not unwell in any way but struggling to do my jeans up etc? Is this normal for 5dpiui or should I be concerned? Tested tonight and still have a bit of the trigger left.

Really hopeful for this group we seem to be quite busy at the moment, surely statistically one of us, if not all of us , should get our BFP!!!

Is it your first iui? Are you taking progesterone? It might be that, can make you super bloaty. It's unusual to get ohss from iui as there aren't normally enough empty follies to fill with fluid I think, how many follies did you have? I think you know if you have ohss as it's incredibly painful and you put on a lot of wait, like a stone overnight sort of weight, if it's just bloat and no weight gain I'm thinking it's just the drugs, that said my first iui last year that worked I was bloaty the whole 2ww...x

Was it a medicated iui? Could be the drugs. How many follicles did you get? Or you could be pregnant! Some people can get mild OHSS which is just bloating and discomfort, I had that.

No progesterone, just menopur injections, had 5 measurable follies and some small ones, just feel soooo bloated!

Also don't think I ovulated until Wednesday 2dpiui and 4days past trigger, if I go by my temp. Time will tell I suppose!

Thanks for the replys ladies xx

Hey ladies just got the call from the clinic. I was shaking because she told me that she would ring me before 9 if I needed to go in today and after if not. She rang at 8:30 so I was expecting to go in today. However, she said that all 4 are doing well and they are going to take them until weds. I'm so relieved....I was worried because I have woken up with a bit of swelling in my left ovary today and a bit of discomfort but otherwise I feel fine. I'm going to have a day of rest and if it gets worse I will have to ring the clinic. Ah I hope not x

That's such good news! All the waiting and hoping is so nerve wracking! The discomfort may be your empty follicles filling up with fluid. Have a restful couple of days! How is your OH?

The whole process has been such an emotional roller coaster. There have been highs and lows throughout the whole process. We nearly couldn't start because I had a cyst on my right ovary and they had to do a blood test and wait for the results. I was so upset at that point I just wasn't expecting it and they couldn't get blood so I had to go over to the main hospital and get it done there instead....My Oh is fine. He is so much more relaxed than me but I think men generally are throughout this process. I'm going to rest today and tomorrow. Think I'll bring my laptop up to bed and play some online bingo and do some sale shopping x

That's great news tiptoes! I had discomfort and swelling for for about 4 days after ec but it's normal and passes! Keep drinking lots of water! Have a nice day chilling out! Xx

Hi ladies

Please could I ask your advice??

So today I had my endo scratch today and bloods to see if I have ovulated this month. My progesterone was 27.5 (they want 30 or above for ovulation) so I am borderline!! The nurse asked the consultant and he said still go for a natural FET. I am really pleased because we would of had to wait another month for a medicated cycle but I worry that my lining won't be thick enough if my progesterone is not high enough.....

We don't want to waste our precious embryos, they are the experts but instead of feeling excited I feel nervous and worried...

Has anyone got any thoughts or experiences with low progesterone but a bfp ?
I told the nurse my concern and she said she would ask about extra meds to thicken my lining...

Lou x
