Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

I've heard it a couple of times on here over the last few years, maybe do a search?
Where are you getting the procedure done?

I've had a Google, one page says "not often performed". I didn't want to read too much into it and worry myself to be honest. He said it could benefit me and make my cycles regular for up to a year though.
I'm unsure yet, I need to wait for the letter to come through. Stating to continue to TTC throughout though... doesn't seem very professional, if it's really not advised!

Just section hopping (I don't really belong anywhere atm lol) I have had ovarian drilling and it was a great success its a treatment for PCOS and can restore normal ovarian function it can reduce the levels of testosterone and LH and increase the level of FSH so it can do incredible things! I had it a few years ago and it resulted in 2 natural pregnancies for me (I have other issues which make maintaining a pregnancy difficult) so I think it is a fantastic thing. I am allergic to clomid so that's why they tried it for me :)

Sorry I meant a search on here!

I've heard of it before :) I believe its where they chip into some ovary to make your ovary start to respond more? Thats my understanding of it anyway but can often help with pcos if ovulation induction hasn't worked :) xxx

I have heard of ovarian drilling and read positive things about it. I do find it odd that he said to continue to ttc as an embryo wouldn't survive a lap and dye and I am sure they asked me before mine if we had had unprotected sex and I know with the HSG (which also uses a dye) I had to sign a form to say we hadn't had unprotected sex xx

No HSG, for the life of me I don't understand why I was given medication first. If this lap and dye comes back and I've wasted five months taking clomid for no reason I'll be very miffed.
I feel there's something else the matter, with all the pain, not having caught yet. I keep telling myself there's only 20% each time, it could happen any month. Consultant said if it's going to happen its likely to in the first six months though.
Such great progesterone levels! Even higher than previous months. It should be happening - grrrr!

Yeah mine said not to have umprotected sex before hand or it wont be able to be done! Xx

I gave them a call today to ask a few questions. Regarding sex, the nurse told me it was up to me whether I reasearch myself or listen to the consultant and make up my own mind about it. Does seem a bit odd though.

That sounds to me like she is saying don't do it but doesn't want to go against what the consultant has said so is saying to research and make up your own mind xx

That's not very helpful. A nurse said something similar to me in 2012. So many people take longer to conceive, horrible to imply that its a lost cause. And untrue.

Omg it feels so real now.....
Appointment went really well, we will be having ICSI ivf which is where they inject a single sperm in to each egg. I will be closely monitored as I'm at risk of over stimulating but hopefully that won't happen. I have one injection for the first 5 days then 2 injections for the following 5-7 days until egg collection. One more period then the one after that is the cycle!!
We get one fresh attempt and one frozen attempt (if none are frozen we don't get another attempt for free) xxxxxx

Day 8 today and just had scan and bloods I have 4 measurable follicles ranging from 19mm-11mm with a lining of 7.6mm, they will call later today with e2 blood result, if that's not to high we will trigger tomorrow and have Iui on Monday! They did say this morning that I have responded to menopur very quickly and there is a chance of abandoning the cycle if e2 too high

So I'm waiting!!!

The only issue I have is that I am at a wedding tomorrow and the trigger has to be kept cool/in the fridge until 2230, any ideas how I'm to do this? Know it sounds crazy but don't want to let it out of my sight in case the staff loose it or something!?!?! That does sound crazy- must be the hormones!!!!

Pearl I have everything crossed for you, can you keep it in a cool box in the car surrounded with icepacks? Get a room at the hotel and plug in a mini fridge?

Good luck CDABaby! We had half ICSI for our first go.
What about carrying a cool bag with ice packs in Pearl? If anyone asks you can say its food or a surprise for the bride! Hopefully they'll have drunk enough by the evening to forget all about it! ;)

Right had the phonecall e2 is 1614 so I'm good to go, I have bought a small cool bag and ice packs so hopefully that will keep it cool!?!? Will go nicely with my clutch bag !

so exciting Pearl!! wishing you the best of luck and also to CDAbaby!! Woo its all go now!!! Just to also post on here to give you all more hope I got my BFP yesterday after my second round of IVF! praying for a super sticky bean!!! xx

Thanks all, maybe we could be on a lucky streak!!! Congratulations again babybumpwanted xxx

Great to get an IVF BFP at last! So nice you got a positive result after all the stress of all the injections, appointments, procedures and stress!

Pearl, do you have to do the injection at the wedding?

All went ok, took a cool bag and it stayed cool all day, Iui in the morning and then need to wait 2 weeks and 2 days before testing.

I have just done a test lovely to see a positive after all this time even though I know it is drug induced!!!

Congratulations babybumpwanted!!! That's given me so much hope and positivity. 56 days until we can start ours xxxx
