Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

Sounds like how I was. By the second day I weighed myself and knew then it was ohss because of the weight gain. I had to go straight into hospital.

I was at risk of getting it but after EC they only got 9 eggs so thought I would be ok so they booked my transfer too but 3 days after EC it was cancelled. If I was you I would step on the scales and see if it's fluid retention that's making you bloated or if it's just general bloating. I was in a lot of pain to go to the toilet also. I used to cry it was that bad though. Fingers crossed your just uncomfortable from collection and it's not OHSS.

Good luck with transfer, hope all can go ahead as planned for you xx

Good luck today missj, I hope your feeling better this morning... And good luck today no matter what happens x x lots of love x

Blue flower, I have no idea. We haven't been called about how the embies are doing this morning and I feel kind of bad they'll be preparing to do transfer and they might cancel it when they see me. But hopefully that won't happen. X

Charlie, that does sound like me. I also have pain trying to go to the loo but this morning I was able to go a bit more but I'm still uncomfortable and bloated, the sharp pains have gone since I've been to the loo though so I guess I'll have to see what they say. If they do cancel it I'm hoping they can just move it to Friday but I am hoping it can go ahead today. X

Thanks so much Minx, I appreciate it. x

No I suppose they don't call you if they are expecting you anyway. It is quite daunting getting ready for transfer and you still don't know how many you have! Although I suppose if someone had none left they would tell you rather than make you get changed.

Good luck for today and I hope if they delay it, it's this week rather than next month. X

Have just arrived home.

Spoke to the nurse, embryologist and my consultant about how I'd been feeling and they all said it was normal and to be expected but if I felt worse to call them. My consultant wanted to go ahead with transfer so we agreed.

The embryologist said we had 1 embryo at grade 1, 3 at grade 2 and the last 2 were average but they said they wanted to leave the remaining 5 another day to see whether they progress any further. It looks like at the moment we will be freezing the grade 2 embryos but the nurses are hoping by tomorrow they will also be grade 1's but we will see.

Transfer went well, just like IUI, it was kind of weird to have 4 nurses standing around the bed with DH, all watching the screen (I couldn't see :-( ) and it was proper silent for a while lol but the consultant said it went really well and the embryo transferred. So I am currently incubating a grade 1 embryo! :yay:

I'm still sore and uncomfortable so been told to take it easy over the next few days, hopefully by next week my consultant said my discomfort should be pretty much gone.

Phew. That's pretty much it!

OTD is 29th April.

That's really good news! Glad they could still go ahead. Hope you get some for freezing tomorrow too!
Take it easy and hope you feel better soon!

Hi ladies just wanted to update progress on my other embryos.
So yesterday we had one grade 1 transferred, 3 grade 2 embryos and the remaining ones were average/not as good quality. This morning the clinic called to say only one embryo has progressed and become grade 1 so that one will be frozen. Feeling quite sad for the ones that didn't make it but I am grateful to be incubating a grade 1 embie. Praying it is snuggling in tight! X

Fantastic! Rooting all the way for you missjuly... look forward to your updates :) xx

It is sad when some of them don't progress but you have one fab embie on board and a little frostie too, so all great news xx

Yeah. I'm focussing on that part but I guess it's the knowing they didn't make it which makes it difficult. But praying for my little stowaway to stick! X

Yeah I was the same, felt sad for the ones that didn't make it xx

Yeah, DH was quite upset about it, but we are grateful for the one that made it and is now frozen. X

I wish we'd had a spare for freezing so we could do a FET instead of having to start again from the beginning every time but our clinic only freezes the top quality ones :(

It's strange how clinics vary in what they do. DH said I heard wrong (perils of being hard of hearing!) and he said we only had 1 grade 1 embryo, 1 grade 2, 2 average and 2 fragmented . So the grade one was transferred, the grade 2 became a grade 1 and the 2 average ones stopped growing.

I don't know if they would have frozen a grade 2 embryo, they've only said that they would leave it another day and see how they progress and if they do, what ones can be frozen.

X

Also on day 5, our best ones were different to the best ones on day 3!
