Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

I hope we get a LTTTC BFP soon, don't think we've had one this year have we?
We are going ahead with IVF with PGS in London in the summer but we need a break first and are aware that even though it will cost double, we may not have any healthy embryos for transfer. But it should let us know if we have a chromosome issue.

Ok glad you're going to try again, enjoy the break, the summer will be here soon enough.

Assuming hubby doesn't wig I'll be starting my IVF cycle next month, and have the endo scratch next week, am i on my own, it's quiet in here at the moment! X

Ooohhh dee fingers crossed for next month will that be your first ivf? Our first one will be in August all going well, however first we are participating in the prepare study at our local clinic. It's to trial the Mediterranean diet prior to ivf to see if it increases the success rate. I have to have an endo scratch at the start of the trial too so month before ivf. Please let me know if it's painful, although nothing is more painful then negative preg tests!!

So glad your trying again blueflower, it's so unfair that it's taken so long. Xxx

The scratch isn't as bad as I'd feared, it does hurt for a few seconds at a time but is very quick. The nurse let me squeeze her hand which helped! Good luck both of you!

Yes it's our first IVF, we had 3 iuis last year so now onto the big guns! That's interesting about the diet trial, have you started it already? They must think there's something in it...xx

Everything crossed for all you ladies!

The diet trial sounds interesting, what is it like?

Blue flower are you going on hols before your ivf?

Dee, GL on your first IVF, I'm in my 2ww after my first IVF cycle after all my IUI's. X

Blue flower glad your going to go again in the summer and a great plan to have a holiday, get away from it all. X have you anywhere booked ?

Is the diet the kind of way they eat in Europe all fresh and colourful olive oil etc?

Yes we have booked time off work but not the actual holiday yet! I will book a consultation for when we come back.
Mediterranean diet sounds fab, it makes sense, we eat far too much processed stuff, fat and sugar in the UK! Arabic diet is similar to Mediterranean and they don't have fertility problems.

Oh love planning a holiday bit of sunshine and R & R does the soul good xx

I have started the 90 Day SSS plan with Joe Wicks, I love it so far! Have seen some really good end results from others on instagram and as it needs a bit of thought and planning it has taken my mind completely off symptoms, baby making and its nice to be focused on something else just for a bit x

Just met a baby with a 48 year old mother. Don't give up ladies, we will do it! x

I'm not sure what the diet entails yet as we don't start it until July but I think your right with oils. There are two diet plans so not sure if we will be on plan A or B. They give you hamper with drinks oils and spreads to add to your diet and tell you foods to avoid I think.
I think they have had a good success rate with it though so that's hopeful. I spoke to one girl who did the trial and she said she could tell the difference in her OH sperm!!

We have a holiday in June otherwise we would have started it earlier. X

Hello ladies,

I'm jumping on board with this thread. About to start my first round of ivf in the next month. I haven't told my manager at work yet which I was trying to avoid but it seems like once I start taking the injections I'll be called in for tests etc without much notice. I'm lucky in the sense that the ivf hospital is a ten minute walk from work. How has everyone else gone on with the appointments etc.. Xx

Welcome Jasmine! Our clinic writes you out a rough program so scans and blood tests are booked in advance but can be moved. So my manager knew roughly when I'd be in late etc. I then had an extra scan and blood test scheduled in because the follicles weren't yet big enough. Egg collection was pencilled in but was then moved to 2 days later. It was tricky as my manager kept asking if I knew the confirmed date and I had to tell her it depended on the eggs! That did shut her up! I know some ladies have no appointment schedule and the clinic just plan it as they go along depending on how they respond to the meds, that must be harder to fit in with work.

Can you tell your manager roughly when it will be? They don't understand its not like getting a date for a normal test or operation! Good thing you work nearby! Our clinic is 30 minutes from work on the bus or driving which is handy but next time we have to go to London for the main appointments.

I'm going to try and not tell work, they all knew when I had my iui last year and when it ended in miscarriage it was awful having to tell everyone. I work part time which helps and I'm hoping the big stuff happens in half term so I've taken annual leave. Any scans I need to have in work time I'm going to lie about and say I have other unrelated medical appointments and hope for the best! The timing will probably go all wrong and I'll end up having say something but I'm going to try!

I'm going to try and avoid saying anything if I can. I work with all women who are older than me and have got children of their own so I just don't want the sympathy looks etc if they know i'm going through ivf. I'll deal with it when it comes to it. All the drugs arrived this morning, loads of them! Xx

I really need to order mine, I'm nervous as it going to order the drugs that made my hubby wig out before, but I need to bite the bullet! X
