Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

We got the call....

6 out of 10 fertilised! That's literally all I know as DH is in the middle of an important meeting but hopefully he can give me more info later.

Yayyy!

That's great! Did they ring your DH then? That might be all the info they give you, all they told me on day 1 was how many and that they were at the one cell stage. They should tell you more when they have divided a bit more and know which ones to transfer. How many will you get transferred?

You must be relieved! I think day 1 is the most exciting stage! Until the BFP of course!

Yeah as I am slightly deaf so can't use the phone so they always ring DH.

I'd like two transferred as I have had previous surgeries which mean I am not allowed a natural birth so if we potentially could have more than one child in one pregnancy then I would just have one pregnancy but I know that 2 transferred doesn't guarantee anything and it could well happen with just one embie. I've been told if have to persuade my consultant as he would be very reluctant to do more than one due to my age and risk of complications with multiples. We will see what happens tomorrow. I'm hoping we can get a picture of them!

I'm very relieved, I was worried we wouldn't have any fertilised because of the amount of follicles I had but I am so happy we have 6 embie babies! :-) x

Its really good to know that your partner can fertilize your eggs, I felt so relieved to know that!
Hope you have a relaxing day. X

We got a picture of ours, I am sure they will give you one or let you take a photo off of the screen, that's what they did with us as their printer was broken, we also got a video of them as we paid for them to video the fertilisation and division to see which were the best ones, was amazing to watch xx

I am definitely relieved about that Blueflower, I'm pleased my eggs are willing to be fertilised as well, lol! As DH's always passed everything with flying colours I had always worried my eggs were the problem so I'm pleased to know they have fertilised. X

That sounds amazing Lisey! I will definitely have to try and get a photo tomorrow. x

Do they not have it as an option blueflower, I thought it was pretty standard for them to offer this now xx

They might do it at the other clinic you may go to? But hopefully you won't even need the clinic :) xx

I think they will probably have the facilities there to do it, it was great and it just shows it can make a difference to the ones they choose. We had two that were looking good, the two we had transferred but there was another one that appeared to be ok, I think it was an 8 cell but it jumped in its division, I think it went from 2 cell to 5 cell or something like that but they wouldn't have known if they had not been watching them with time lapse camera xx

Need some reassurance ladies. It's the day after my EC and I'm still in pain with my belly. It hurts when I go to the loo, I get sharp shooting pains all over my belly. And I've had the same pains coming in waves through the day. My stomach is a bit swollen and I'm uncomfortable. I've had a twisted intestine/stomach before and it feels similar to that (due to the previous surgeries I mentioned earlier). DH is sure it's just after effects from the EC as I did feel it slightly during the procedure.

I'm just worried the EC has triggered my stomach upset and ET will be cancelled. I didn't think I would be feeling this sore.

Have you rung the clinic? I needed painkillers all day after my first IVF so some pain is normal, but I would check if I were you.

I had pain the day after too, got myself all worried about it but it went the day after and was fine. I would call to be sure though xx

I would ring the clinic, put your mind at rest xx

I felt quite poorly for a couple of days after collection and I remember worrying if I was well enough to have a day 2 transfer. I had a lot of bleeding from the collection, tummy was tender and horribly gurgly and I had a bit of shoulder pain. It was the only the day after transfer that I felt a bit more human. If you're worried give them a call though especially as they're concerned about OHSS. That's great that you've got 6 embies, good luck for the next stage xx

I've done some Googling and it sounds a lot like mild OHSS. By the time I had spoken to DH it was too late to call the clinic but we will see them in the morning so we will see what they say. Hopefully by tomorrow I will feel better. It's just my stomach is swollen and the sharp shooting pains are all round my left and right side - they did say I may have OHSS after collection but I am a bit surprised given their concern, they haven't asked about this but I guess they'd expect us to mention it when we got the call about fertilisation. My consultant apparently also follows a policy (can't remember the name) where he will only transfer one embryo which he has emphasised but I suppose I also thought that if I insisted, they would allow me as after all despite the risks etc, they are our embryos.. Maybe I'm being selfish but I think when we have waited so long and we finally know there are actual embryos, I want to take them all lol I know I can't but again, I guess we will see what they say tomorrow.

Feeling uncomfortable with my belly but the Cabergoline is supposed to help so fx that does the job.

Transfer is booked for 9.45 so will update as and when I can. x

I wonder if you still have more than 2 good embryos if they would delay the transfer a day or so and freeze any extras? Hope you feel better in the morning. X
