Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

I know. They told me to continue until monday and scan friday since if we do friday ec might be only 4-5 mature. I am also alightly at risk of OHSS have 19 follicles on right and 14 on left but only 2 are above 17 so many many smaller between 10-14 mm . Should i be wordied?

Try not to worry, drink plenty of water etc. They will let you know when they get the bloods back. As the extra ones are small you should be ok. Just need the main ones to grow a bit more but the extra days will do it! The trigger shot also helps the final maturation and the eggs can even continue maturing in the petri dish with the sperm! Are you having ICSI or just standard IVF?

Thanks, They will check the sperm on the day and see if IVF or ICSI I think. DH had 0% morphology that improved to 6%. Do you have your procedure tomorrow?

And wanted to add some reassurance to any ladies worried about small amount of follicles seen on scan before IVF/stimming starts. On me they "only" saw 6-7 on each ovary ( total was never more than 14 ) but look at how many I have now, over 30! So don't panic if your AFC is low since it seems like many more can pop up!

MillieLaura might be pleased to hear that. On her journal today she was worried about a low antral follicle count.

Yes I have to leave home about 7.15 am! I expect I will have to wait too as they are squeezing me in! Bit concerned about pain whilst I'm still recovering from the EC but I want to get it over with. Will take one codeine 15 minutes before appointment is scheduled then another one when they call me, just in case they run late and it wears off!

Brilliant news, fingers crossed you get the go ahead for Fri.

I'm dreading this stage where I'm feeling so bloated.
I have really bad IBS so although I'm used to it, it's not a nice feeling.

What exactly are you having done tomorrow Blueflower? I'm sure it will be fine, have some painkillers and it should be over quickly. I am such a wimp when it comes to scans and procedures like that ( think I had one called HyCoCy ) so I am sure you handle it all much better than I do. Good luck tomorrow!!

Its an endometrial scratch, I had one in January before IVF3 but it didn't help and then I had the ERA test in July which is the same process but they analyse the scrapings. It did hurt a lot for a few seconds but was over quickly. I was in tears both times even though I'd had ibuprofen. Heard that Codeine is better so will try that. Had some on Friday and felt wonderful!!

Great, I am sure you will be fine. I think sometimes its more the thought of it that is scary. Let us know how it goes!

I think I have read its not good to have a hot bath or sauna while stimming. I love those things and really think it would make me feel so much better but I assume this is a no go??

Sorry for my "worry messages" but now I just realized, what if my follicles over-mature and get wasted? NHS only does EC weekdays so its either Friday or Monday. As mentioned before I think I only have 2 over 17mm ( one was 19mm I remember ), many at 10-13 and perhaps a some at 14-15mm. Will they have time to be over-mature on Monday?? Doctor said its a risk only 4 are mature if I do EC Friday but will the ones at 13-15 have a chance to last until Monday?

Its not just the thought, it really does hurt me!! I am quite relaxed thinking about it and want to get it over with.

Sounds as if you have more maturing than over mature so should get the best outcome as you have so many. They will know what to do for the best.

Oh nooo Blueflower, my scratch is a week today and honestly hadn't thought it'd be pain like that! Will just have to take painkillers and grin and bear it.

Maria - great news about your eggs! FX this is your month. It is frustrating that they don't do it at weekends (we can't make our best days to always be on a weekday!). Also, I have had the HyCoSy... They said it might be 'a bit uncomfortable'. Pffftttt! I had to try so hard not to cry. Xxx

My EC is potentially planned for 6th Nov ... my clinic also only do EC on Mon, Weds or Fri.

I assume for the scratch ladies you're awake for it?
What is the reason for doing it if you don't mind me asking (not really heard of it before)

Yes, you're awake for it.

At our clinic, they offered the scratch as an optional extra. We are paying for it but we only get one go on the NHS here so we thought we would go for everything they offer. It is supposed to help implantation.

I am sure they will be fine. On my last scan day which was a saturday a couple of my follicles were measuring 27mm and we had ec the following monday. Remember they do this all the time they know what is best for you. Try not to worry x

Phonixgirl, got so angry with my doctor who did the HyCoSy... I thought it was painful so kept saying i felt pain and if it was normal.. He said "everyone handles pain differently and have different pain tolerance" THANKS!!! And he is a man, he doesnt know! Patronising
