Hmm I just got my results back from serum.
I know I wanted them to find something but now I'm just a little shocked.

They found presence of Chlamydia, Bacterial load plus Ureaplasma.
Of course I have no idea what the second things even are but wow..

So we both need to do a 25 day course of antibiotics now.

Well I think it's Chlamydia Trachomatis, which is what they test for. Going to check this with them as I'm confused now! I'm still not exactly sure what it is.. and the nhs won't run these test cause i think they dont believe in them lol.

I've read nothing but good things about Serum clinic sooooo really hoping after some antibiotics we might be on the way to our sticky bfp?

Now to wait for them to send me the prescription!

Millie those are exactly the same as my results and I'd always tested negative before, it's a different type of chlamydia. These things that you've tested positive for can cause inflammaton in the womb which can affect implantation. My acupuncturist always said I had intflamation issues and it also explains other things about me. It was after our 25 days of antibiotics and my hysto (which also showed patches of inflammation in the womb) that we immediately conceived, I'm sure it failed because of egg quality no other reason. These things can also cause issues with sperm.

I know it's not nice getting positive results but st least you can move ahead with treatment now. I have to say I felt slightly suspicious when my results came through because so many people get similar results but there was a lot of discussion on this on fertility friends and loads of people got negative results. Lots of people have these things and don't ever know and it doesn't cause any problems but for some it does.

May, good luck today! I live in Asia too so same time zone as you, will watch out for your results.

I am so happy right now... I was tested positive and hcg level is 22.6!!! But however only by Monday then I can confirm the pregnancy again and see if it doubles up!!! Fingers crossed for the better!!! Lots of crying right now!!!!

Thanks Syd, just can't wait to get treatment sorted out and hope it does some good for us. Every test I've had here they've found no problems soooo hopefully this was just the issue.
I'm not sure if my gp will prescribe it but I'm going to try and ask her when I see her next week and then if not I'll just have to send off for the hard copy and collect elsewhere.

Just a quick update, my sample finally arrived at Serum 2 days ago, just waiting for results.

Xmillie, that's good that they found something that you both can be treated for, I know what you mean about being shocked, I'm dreading my results. I think I probably have all of the infections lol. You know they send you a prescription ?, will our UK chemists accept it or will it cause problems getting the prescription ?, I could see my Dr but it takes a month for an appointment.

They first sent me an email prescription which you need to send off to get a hard copy (they send you a list of the places that will do this) but they send they can mail a hard copy so I've asked for this instead for now. But going to talk to my gp Friday and see if they'll prescribe instead as it would probably be easier/faster.
They will send you all the details though xx

I am waiting for my first period after mmc so that I can get the ball rolling with FET. My consultant wants to do non medicated as I usually ovulate reg. She said the four we have frozen are grade A blastocyst xxx

Through Serum (http://www.ivfserum.com/infection-screening/) they're based in Athens, all I needed to do was send a sample (from af) in the post and they do all the tests there so you don't need to visit.

I've read nothing but good things about them. xx

I just filled in the questionnaire from there and they said antibiotics and antioxidants for 40 days can help sperm motility ..anyone else done this? xx

The AF blood testing looks interesting. They recommended it on their reply to me but I did have some antibiotics for 2 weeks a couple months ago as I got a tick bite so I think I'd probably be ok? I'm not sure if the hidden infections something that can come and go so enough to allow me to have my daughter but still contributing to issues in the past and now? xxxp

We got our appointment summary letter through the post today and it was horrid to see it down it words that from that sample he had he would only do ivf. But I entered the numbers in to the questionnaire to serum and they said they would do iui and could do natural iui if I am oving every month now as my cycles are regular which they didn't used to be. It's all so confusing! To suddenly have the problems reversed from me to him and then be told different things from diff places etc xx

I've not spoken with anyone about sperm motility there but our results have always been ok. It could be worth trying if you oh's next results don't come back okay?

I had antibiotics in July before the miscarriage, but apparently I still have the above. So I guess different strengths/types? No idea! But willing to give anything a go at this point

when are you going back to your clinic? xx
