Ladies doing IUI or IVF - 2016 (11 BFPs so far!)

Syd, did you partner need to be tested to get a prescription? Or were they happy to give you both a prescription without him being tested?

I am so incredibly sorry about the losses ladies, it is so heartbreaking and unfair :(

I often pop in to see how everyone is doing, I hope there are lots of sticky bfps soon xx

Hubby is still a no go on our fet anytime this year but seems to have agreed to Jan. I'll call the clinic in November and hope they can fit us in for treatment plan in December. Something to look forward to at least!

Hi ladies, sorry I have been quiet its been an eventful couple of months, by first IVF resulted in BFP which was great but I also got moderate OHSS and was admitted to hospital for a week, I put on over 2 stone in fluid, had a scan at 6 weeks 4 day and saw the heartbeat.
Sadly I went for a scan when I would have been 9 weeks 4 days and there was no heartbeat, it has stopped at 8 weeks 5 days, I had no symptoms of miscarriage at all, still had all my pregnancy symptoms.
Its been a very sad time for me, my partner and and our families, and I am really struggling to get my head around the loss and to move forward. I do have 4 x 5 day blasts frozen but I have all sorts of worries going around in my head now, was it me? Is there something wrong with all our embryos, will it happen again etc, will I even get BFP again etc.
We are unexplained, had all the tests done prior to IVF and nothing at all shows up as our problem to conceive.
When we had IVF I had 23 eggs collected but only 6 fertilised, which they said was disappointing so maybe fertilisation our problem.
I am still bleeding at the moment from miscarriage, does anyone know how long you have to wait to do a FET?
Does anyone know of anyone who has had an IVF miscarriage and then had success with FET?
I hope you are all doing well, I am sorry I haven't commented, I had been watching the forum but with feeling so ill, I felt apprehensive about announcing the BFP to anyone xxx

Sorry for your loss. I don't have any advice. Just wanted to give you an e-hug

Thanks Lisey.

Millie, that's great news, January isn't so far away! No, partner doesn't get tested - they just have to take the antibiotics at the same time to avoid re-infecting you. Mine had a sperm test done at Serum including dna fragmentation and it came back with no issues (a flipping miracle given his lifestyle!!) so Penny said he doesn't need to do the antibiotics again, I don't know if that would be different had he had worse results. I have to take a mild course of antibiotics now whenever I cycle and also with a natural pregnancy.

Okay thanks Syd :)
Hoping we'll hear it's arrived soon.

This loss still has me scared for when/if we next catch, I'm so worried there is a problem and it's just something that doctors have missed. :(

Hi Ladies, I hope you're all well. I'm sorry to read some not so fortunate outcomes here recently... I wanted to just impart a bit of info that was given to me recently. Mainly for those of you who have perhaps been through IVF 1-3 times and its not worked for you and those who suffer 'unexplained infertility' and recurrent MC - if you haven't already, I would highly recommend looking at the work of Dr Beer. I am seeing a holisitic fertility consultant and she recommended I read up, its all about how unexplained fertility isn't unexplained its just that our current systems (especially in the UK with NHS cost restraints) don't allow for testing related to our immune systems so once the usual tests are completed its left open as 'unexplained'. Apart from basic blood clotting issues they don't go into enough detail on testing for things like natural killer cells, further thrombophilia issues, antiphospholids etc etc...this doctor basically pioneered research and proven treatment in this area. He's dead now and ran a clinic in the States, but I have the book written about it and although I'm not that far in yet so far its about how many women who had been through IVF several times with no joy and then found a solution through this theory and actually quite simple method of treating underlying issues... it is mind blowing, if nothing else I feel like it is arming me with some proof that more tests may need to be done to find out what might be wrong with me rather than people saying 'its just bad luck', try again ... this doctor believes there is no such thing and that all types of fertility issue have a reason, very often related to immune issues ... anyway, I'm rambling but I just wanted to let you know in case of interest. Hope that helps... wishing you all well, I do keep an eye on this feed and think of you all often - one of these bloody days we'll get there ladies!! :wall2: xx

Xmillie, has your sample arrived at Serum yet ?, mine has said its in Heathrow, on its way to Athens but hasn't been updated in 3 days . I thought it would of been in Greece by now, I'm worried its gone missing. x

Mine arrived there today apparently, I'm about to sort out the bank transfer for it.

I hope it hasn't gone missing :(
I had that worry too!

For me it was fast getting to Athens (was there on Sunday I think?) but it seemed to take a while to get to the clinic!
Hopefully tracking will update for you soon xx

Oh, blimey, yours did get over there quickly, well mine was posted on Monday and hasn't been updated since arriving at Heathrow so its 5 days and still not in Athens. It will be just my luck for it to go missing . x

Yes very speedy as only posted it Saturday, it was at Heathrow the same day!

I really hope it hasn't, did you get another sample just in case? I didn't bother as thought wouldn't need too.. hmm hopefully it's just some delay and things will be moving soon. Maybe they only send to Athens on certain days? No idea how international post works! xx

Never done a international bank transfer either, spoke to them earlier and they said the transaction can take 24-48hours to appear as pending and then up to 4 days for the money to be send, ahhh wow.

I did think about doing another sample just incase, but I only had one urine pot so didn't bother. I will check again today, maybe your right and they only fly them over on a Sunday ?. Are you having all the tests done ?, how much did it come to ?, I've asked for all of them. Wish I had posted mine on Saturday now . Thats a pulava with the bank transfer. xx

Had another scan today, saw a yolk sac so not a blighted ovum but no fetal pole which they should definitely see by 7+ weeks and gestational sac is over a week behind, doctor is 100% confident in her miscarriage diagnosis (pending miscarriage I guess) but has said to come back next week for one final scan just to put my mind at rest. To be honest, I'm also "comfortable" with that diagnosis, ties in with bloods slowing down too fast and lack of symptoms. Will go for the scan anyway but I'm currently drinking a glass of wine. Doctor recommends medical management rather than surgical which I'm not too excited about because it bloody hurt last time at 8 weeks - hope they give me some good pain meds :(

So sorry Syd. :hugs: Did you keep your appointment at Serum?

I went for both. I think it was around £280-£290? The bank added on fees for conversions ugh!

I hope that's just the case xx

Well quick update, the parcel is now in Greece, thank god !, not delivered yet though. Hopefully it will get there quickly now. x

hi everyone

Hope you're all okay?

@ lillith112 hope your delivery arrives.

small update from me. I had a follow up with the consultant for FET. My embryo grades were
2 5BB
1 4AC
2 4BB

So not all 5BB as i initially thought. As soon as my next period shows up I'll start all those horrible injections again in prep for my transfer.

In the meantime I've been eating like a pig so I'm really trying to loose a stone before my transfer so i'm in the healthy weight range.

Hi MrsBass :)

Just out of interest, what meds will you be injecting? I’ve never had injected meds with my FET...
Hope you don’t mind me being nosey xx

One day passed I don't know if my symptoms are real?? I experience some cramps on and off... Nothing else other than this... Is it too early??? Or my mind playing tricks with me?? Any ideas girls??
