July & August Mummies <3

evening ladies whats the best way to relieve swollen feet mine hurt so much. and on a scale of 1 to 10 how ready is everyone? ive got everything except for travel system ( coming soon) and hospital bags packs so im thinking im an 8? im 34 weeks whens best to have HB packed by? xx

I think for swollen feet all you can really do is try and keep them elevated as much as possible. Maybe get you partner to give them a massage?

I am NOT ready. Haha. Mentally or otherwise. I’m waiting for my pram, should be here at the start of July. My hospital bags are about 80% done but I want to add in some newborn clothes JUST incase. Also need to put the rest of my stuff in. I just washed all the sheets so at least that’s done.
I’m maybe an 8 like you. Feels like I still have so much left to organise though!
I’ll get my induction date on the 1st, and then I think the panic will really set in!

OMG ladies I’m so unprepared this time around!

I think being my 2nd I just feel like I have everything already but nothing is sorted, which is totally freaking me out.

I’m 32 weeks and my job this weekend is to pack hospital bag.

How many sleep suits are you taking? Can’t remember what I did 4 years ago!

Just ordered Moses basket and have travel system in loft. Eeeek it’s all getting real.

Aww @Jade jones I’m suffering too with swollen ankles. I had it really bad 1st time around. I’m trying to put my feet up when I can which is hard.
I’m so uncomfortable all over with pelvic pain too xx

Oh wow @mummybear2 ... can’t believe you’ll know when bubbas with arrive so soon.

Has everyone got names picked out yet.

Think we’re sorted on a girl, but no-where agreeing on a boys name :(

No names here. I have a favourite girls name, just need to make sure the OH is on board. Boys names, meh. I don’t really love any. It’s very frustrating. I maybe really like 1 but OH isn’t keen on it. So who knows. He’s saying just wait until they’re born but I HATE that idea.

Sleep suits, I’m taking 5 for each baby. And I will maybe add on a couple newborn incase they end up being too big for tiny baby. I think that’s plenty but all the twin groups tell you to take more. Haha.

So had my midwife check up this morning and I've got to go for an urgent growth scan on Wednesday morning. I've been saying since I was 28 weeks that I think I'm small, at my 28 week appointment I was fine. They then said my next appointment would be a phone call which never happened. I then had an appointment two weeks ago and was seen by my normal midwife who had a junior with her who checked the babies heartbeat and did the fundal height measurement. I remember her saying 31, but when went in today as soon as I lifted my top the midwife looked concerned and said that I'm looking very small, she then measured me at 30. Upon checking my notes they wrote 32 last time so they have put the wrong measurement in my notes and measured me incorrectly.
It's possible I'm leaking fluid as I have had some watery discharge (sorry tmi) and it did seem to have a bit of a pinkish tinge on a couple of occasions but I thought it must just be a bit of infection or something. Just panicking a bit now Wednesday feels like an age away!!x

Oh how worrying @Wilson14. Hopefully everything is ok with baby. Wednesday won’t come quick enough for you, but try and keep busy to keep your mind off of it.

I really feel like standard of care has slipped so much during this whole pandemic. I get that everyone is busy and they’re trying to take precautions but life hasn’t stopped. I was talking to a woman at my last appointment she was 28 weeks with twins, her first pregnancy and had never seen a consultant! Same hospital as me, same clinic and I’ve been seeing one since about 17/18 weeks. And I keep seeing everyone saying their appointments have been cancelled and they haven’t seen anyone since booking! It’s madness!
My scare with the fluid on babies brain. They had labelled and recorded it as twin 1 when it was actually twin 2! Such a big thing to get wrong.

What a worry @Wilson14 hope all goes ok.

I agree @mummybear2 the standard of care seems to have been put out of whack.

I had my growth scan and 36 week appointment today, my fluid levels are still low but not dropping, and the placenta function is still ok. But baby’s growth is failing off now, it’s abdominal circumference is now measuring small, when it’s always been measuring ahead. My bump is still measuring the same so has never grown and I am now round 9 weeks smaller on bump measurements but baby is very low too and is now 3/5 palpable so all contributing. I have a repeat growth in two weeks and another appointment next week. I still have protein and leucocytes in my urine also. So I have basically been told to do as little as possible in the hopes that baby’s growth is still ok.
These babies are just causing us all worries, hopefully they behave a little longer. Take care ladies xxx

Yeh my care has been sparing to say the least and my midwife just doesn't seem interested, I've seen 4 different midwifes but with one doing the majority of appointments and all she does is moan. I'm going to make a formal complaint about it, not that it helps baby at all. Just want the next day or so to hurry up so I can find out what's going on. I'm really angry as I've been saying for so long that I think I'm small and basically just been ignored xx

Oh gosh so sorry to hear this @Wilson14
Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

I’m shocked at how the care is pretty appalling. I’d certainly make a complaint. I know we’re in strange times currently but it’s doesn’t excuse lack of care and the differences between us.

These babies are certainly causing havoc!

Im just back from my 32 week midwife appointment and I’m measuring 2 weeks ahead - does this really mean anything?

I’m concerned I’m going to be early again so best get my arse in gear and get organised xx

I still can’t believe they wrote the wrong measurement in your notes. Absolutely no excuse for that kind of mistake.

I do hope you’re ok.

I spent the weekend washing baby clothes and am just awaiting delivery of the Moses basket. Time is moving so fast and our babies will be here before we know it <3 xx

Thank you will update you tomorrow. Unfortunately I’m at the mercy of East Kent NHS Trust who have been in the news for all the wrong reasons over the last few years x

Hope everything goes ok for you today @Wilson14

Hope everyone else is hanging in there too.
1 week until my next scan and when I find out my induction date. Eeek!

@WILSON hope everything is okay thinking of you <3
@mummybear2 thats awful they got that so wrong!

My legs are becoming swollen now too i said to the midwife when u press on my legs the color doesn't even come back straight away she didn't even seem concerned didn't check or anything. I asked about being induced because of the pelvic pain and hip ache being a bigger woman and all the water retention going on and she was like are you consultant led.... like YES!! christ alive. sorry for rant x

How did everyone sleep last night?
It was so hot down South and my poor ankles are so swollen and constantly throbbing :(

Hope everything’s ok @Wilson14 xx

I hope you are all doing well. My water broke this evening so I went to maternity to be assessed. The told me I’m not allowed to go back home. Since I had minimal contractions they started to induce me. They are doing it super slowly hoping I have baby during the day tomorrow/today. I’m beyond excited, it’s truly happening now!!
