July & August Mummies <3

Congratulations @Kiwi_53 knew it wouldn’t be too long before baby arrived.

What a lovely quick labour ... hope yourself and baby are ok.

Any name? xx

Just back from my midwife appointment at 36+4.

Baby is 3/5 engaged.
I’m booked in to see her again in 2 weeks although she thinks baby will be here by then.

Have been up since 2.30am with really severe IBS cramps. Midwife thinks it’s my body clearing out ready for the birth ... scary stuff!

Hope everyone else is feeling ok.

How are all the new Mummies doing? xx

Congratulations @Kiwi_53! I hope you’re doing ok.

I got out of hospital yesterday lunchtime after what I can only describe as a complete emotion breakdown at the thought of having to be there for one second longer. Hospital was absolute torture not being able to have the amount of support I needed from my partner and family. It just wasn’t fair. Trying to do everything with two babies is so difficult and we really struggled with establishing feeding, Rhys’ temp dropping and then both being jaundice.
Night time is so so hard and I’ve not have more than 6/7 hours sleep since Thursday night.

I had the midwife out today and babies are looking good. Only 5/6% weight loss for the twins and jaundice down in them both.

I’ve been feeling really nauseous and shivering cold. Sore sore tummy. Need to keep up with my pain killers. I also have ridiculously swollen feet/legs. All my obs are fine though so it must just be my exhaustion and lack of appetite.

So glad to be home though. It’s just been a difficult few days.

@Kiwi_53 massive congratulations!!!! any name yet??

@mummybear2 was that an English hospital? ive only read good "lockdown" story's im sorry to hear yours wasn't. glad babys are okay hopefully partner can help you get some well deserved rest now xx

@Wilson14 congrats on finishing work xx

got my extra scan tomorrow so find out if baby girl needs to come out early feeling nervous :S xx

I'm happy you are finally home @mummybear2! Maybe you could tag team with the oh so you can get some sleep? I hope the twins have the same rhythm.
I also couldn't sleep after the birth of my DD1 and I hated the hospital too! I had the opposite, I had no rest because the visits would start at 11am and people would come and go until 10pm.. The midwives started to pick up on it after 2 days, and started shooing people away, finding excuses to get people out of the room. I appreciated their help.
Certainly when some distant relatives would just come over, eat the fruit I had received as a gift from the hospital and then leave, to come back the next day to eat the rest of it. They even came back a third day and just sat there, asking for a refill of champagne... I hated everyone I didn't explicitly invite.
Hope you can get some sleep hun! It's important.x

Getting a lot of pressure today and cramps but they are short lived, really struggling to walk with the pain. Maybe she’ll be on her way soon x

Fingers crossed @Wilson14
Keep us updated!

Anyone know how common it is for contractions to start without your waters breaking? xx

I think it is more common for ur contractions to start before waters break.
I see in alot off those positive birth stories waters burst when baby is descending further into both canal

I've experience both. Waters went first and contractions didnt happen to next eve
2nd time contractions came first and then they wanted to break my waters

Oh cheers hun :)

With my first my waters went at 37 weeks and contractions only started 3hrs later and then baby born 5hrs after 1st contraction.

Just wondering how this one could pan out! Hoping for the same haha xx

My 1st I had niggles for 5 hours then stopped, 2 hours later my waters went and intense contractions started straight away. He was born less than 4 hrs later by emcs.

My 2nd niggles started at 9am, definite contractions by 1pm, waters went 2:35pm, born 3: 03pm. But I wanted to push as soon as my waters popped but wasn’t allowed to as was only in triage room with hubby and the mw’s wanted to examine me first before transferring me to a labour room.

My 3rd I was induced by them breaking my waters at 2pm, drip started 5pm, contractions started at 6:30pm, born at 7: 08pm!!

So I’m curious as to how labour will start this time, I’ve also read it’s more common to have contractions start before waters breaking.

Ooh that’s interesting @kanga86

Lucky lucky lady having so many quick births!
That’s what I’m hoping for this time around too xx

Im worried at how quick it could go this time! I went into shock after my last labour as it happened so quickly, couldn’t even hold my baby as I was shaking and felt so dizzy. So hoping for a bit long labour this time xx

UPDATE.... so had my scan and turns out it was just a bad scan 2 weeks ago, baby girl is back on previous path, however after scan waiting to see consultant when they called me i stood up and all i remember is a jolt of pain and i passed out.. and after getting emotional and also suffering with pgp and spd was in agony so consultant did some tests and we talked things threw been given oral morphine for the pain and being induced monday :)
