1. Avoid telling family and friends!

You’re probably already tired of people asking you if and when the baby has arrived, so you can imagine how frustrating things could get if you tell them you are in early labour. This often heightens the anticipation, comments like, ’You’re still going?’ or, ‘Gees that’s a long time, shouldn’t they induce you / put you out of your misery by now?,’ which can be very discouraging. Often this can result in mum feeling even more determined to accept intervention to hurry labour along due to everyone else’s anticipation. until your in active labour (4cm or more)

Hi everyone

Just letting you know I had my baby girl on Friday at 8.29am. I came home from hospital at 7.00am as still only 3-4cm and contractions had stopped. Went to bed to try and sleep, had 3 contractions 7 mins apart, waters went all over the bed, then could do nothing apart from scream, had to get an ambulance which arrived at 8am, made it to the delivery suite and Ana was born 3 mins later, weighing 6lb 2oz.

Will add a photo when I get round to it.

Evening ladies,
I am still having period pains...but only in the evening? Hoping it means that everything is moving forward. Baby is still wiggly and feels like he is trying to squirm his way down and out my lady bits! Eeeek!

We have decided on a name - Oliver Tomos (welsh for Thomas)

Hubby's MIL passed away in November due to lung cancer, 2 weeks after we told her we were expecting and her name was Olive, so little Ollie will be named after her - we miss her so much too.

What's everyone doing this evening? It's been sooooo bloody warm. x

Well.. ive done everything today.. Even sex again lol, clary sage bath, walk, bouncing on ball!

Ive only had a few BHs today, no contractions at all!

Ive not long got off the phone to the to the hosp cos i was confused with why things have just STOPPED! all day!
She said not all women even no they are in early labour cos it doesnt actually mean contractions and they can start and stop again for hours or days?!!!, she said the loss of plug is great but it doesnt mean things will definitely progress quickly, again active labour may not start till a few days... lol!
But they do think things are happening, and said i could even be about 4cm now.. but without contractions or waters breaking nothing will happen so to stay at home and ride it out!!!!

girls ull all be having ur babies before me lmao! Its still even possible ill get induced next weekend!!!!! xxx

My neighbour has gone to hospital in labour with her hubby gutted I didn't go first lol but have had a nice dayaand babys room is finished yay ! hubby did bbq today yum was awesome. I just tried my tens machine (on forearm where it says to test before labour) so wierd but hopefully it will help when the Time comes! X

Awww damn it! (maybe hers will stop like mine muaha) and u can still beat her lmao!

Is ur tens machine a normal one or isnt a pregnancy/maternity one? my step dad has a muscle stimulator like the tens but without this 'boost' option! I was guna use it as i mentioned it to the MW at the hosp yest, she said u could try it!? scared its secretly one of those toning belts tho haha! xx

It's one for pregnancy I hired it from birth ease. I was a bit scared to test it but though it's wierd I think or at least hope it will work for early labour at least! X

Well I tried out the cold wet socks trick and it did work but not for too long. So I went back to a wet damp towel laid over me on bed with the fan blowing over the top works quite well lol even if I do look like some kinda beached whale!!!!

What's everyone's plans for the day? Was gonna go out for the day but I don't think I will be able to stand the heat walking around and my ankles will swell like mad, as they did y'day,so think I'm just gonna find a shady spot in the garden again while OH finishes off odd diy jobs he's started but not got round to finishing lol (he doesn't know that yet tho lol)

Lots more bouncing and walking for you Dani. We're all eager to meet little Mr Noah monkey now xx
