**********january 2016 mummies**********

Oh ladies, this no sleeping stuff is crap isn't it? I only had about 7.5 hours sleep on Saturday night but was still awake at 1am this morning!! It's the actually getting to sleep that I'm having problems with, I'm fine once I'm asleep!

Glad you had a good night riccy, it can make such a big difference to how you feel! I've got a blend active which I used to use a lot but my local sainsburys have stopped stocking my favourite strawberry and banana mix for smoothies so I've not used it for ages. You've just reminded me to contact them again and ask when it's coming back in - I contacted them in September and was told they'd put in a product request for me but they've still never had it in.

I've not done much today apart from the hoovering and a bit of Xmas shopping online. It's bloody freezing though so I've got all the curtains shut and the electric fire on to try and heat up a bit! Does your fire do your heating? Hubby is wanting to put a log burner in our living room as it will save us so much on gas but it wouldn't do the heating, just heat the living room as it's quite big (8mx4m) so hard to heat up!

I'm so jealous about the chocolates, I just went hunting for some but can't find any :(

I went to bed last night at 8pm after some hot soup, red hot bath, plenty of Vicks on my chest and a load of cushions from the couch haha. Woke up slightly when hubby came up at 11, woke for a wee at 4.45am and then hubby woke me and Olly both up at 8.30 this morning - I feel like a different person. I was propped up all night but comfy still. I did wake with a dead arm tho !!!
I remember last time round I was up with heartburn from 4ish every morning, watching Jezza haha, I'm hoping once this cold sods off I can get some serious sleeping In before little madam comes. Iv got the heartburn under control at the mo !!

And Iv just ordered myself a nutri bullet, I'm eating really bad at the minute so I'm hoping to up my fruit and veg intake - and it will come in handy once baby is here to start blitzing the baby weight. Should have bought one a lot earlier but never mind.

What's everyone doing this awful miserable day ? We went to playgroup this morning and got soaked, went to my mams for some lunch then we came home and Olly had a nap for 90 mins, I had my lunch and caught up on some soaps. Now we are watching despicable me, the fire is roaring, the Christmas tree lights are on and we have opened a tub of Xmas chocolates hehe !! I love being a stay at home mam xxx

Glad you managed a better sleep there's nothing worse, I've usually got two little fluffy dogs trying to snuggle up with me they are so clingy just now.

Today the last of my cake orders went out, yipee! I was really struggling being on my feet for any length of time, so who knows when I'll go back to my wee business, my mixer is already washed down and put away. I've just went and done a Tesco shop with my OH and now I can't find the energy to get back off my couch. Just going to get the feet up and watch the soaps x

Well after no sleep last night due to agonising back pain, and a routine visit to the midwife...I am waiting on hubby with a bag packed to take me to the hospital.
Contractions showing every 12 mins. Midwifes hopes they can stop them, if not I could be in theatre by morning.

Will keep you updated.

Oh crikey tillie! Hope they manage to stop them. Keep us updated, will be thinking of you!

Just an update from tillie

She has been admitted to mat ward as they think infection is causing contractions. Been scanned and happy with baby, just worried previous scar may rupture so waiting to see wjat happens, they hope to get her to 10th Dec, 37wks.
She has a poor signal so will update when she can.

Thanks for the update kelly. Fingers crossed baby stays put until the 10th.

I am getting seriously stressed out with our health visitor now.

A couple of weeks ago I had a little rant (a few pages back in here) about her cancelling an appointment last minute, then chasing me during work hours to rearrange when I was unable to answer and she just kept calling and calling, then ringing OH and even my dad. She then tried to rearrange the date of the appointment with my OH and I said that's not a suitable date for me as I already have commitments that day, I could however do X day. In the end we finally caught each other on the phone, she confirmed she could do the date and time I suggested and she said she'd send out a new letter with the date and time.

As this letter never arrived and I hadn't yet had confirmation, I decided to text her this morning to confirm the date and time. She's decided she's coming on the original date she suggested to OH when I told her I'm not available!! And doesn't recall calling me to book it in for the date I said I was free!

Honestly, I have had enough of this now. I have a midwife appointment this afternoon and I'm going to tell my midwife how stressed this has made me. I don't want to see her now until after baby is born. I can't have her continually stressing me out, and making my anxiety levels rise too. I just don't know what to do any more, she does not listen to anything I say and is making things extremely difficult - I haven't even met her once yet!

We got the log burner In after we got married 3 years ago, it's cost us £1550 in total.
We live in a 2 bed roomed stone end terrace house so we have no cavity insulation , our gas bills were a fortune and all the heat was going through the end terrace wall. Its saved us a load of money on our gas bills, the winter before we got it our most expensive bill for 1 months gas was £130 !!!! We pay £60 a month now (direct debit) but our usage is lower, last month we used £42. I have the radiators turned off downstairs, I still put the heating on for an hour in the morning and before bed - through the winter the fire is on constant, hubby gets wood free from work and we cut it and keep it in our yard - we usually get through a large bag of coal a week, that costs £7. I just love the real fire feel from it - it is dirty though so you have to keep on top of the dust. Iv finally managed how to keep the house warm by keeping the upstairs doors open all day so the heat goes up there - sometimes I need to knock a little electric heater on for 20 mins or so in Ollys room before bed, like last night, it was so cold. But well worth it.
Hope everything is ok tillie

Xx

It's not good, why not try calling her several times a day see how she likes it. Seems unnecessary to act this way and I can understand why it is stressing you out. :wall2:

Thanks for that riccy, hubby is set on getting one. I grew up on a farm so we depended on the fire for heating. I loved the fire and would love one again but not to depend on for heating as it becomes such a chore! The dogs love lying in front of the electric fire when it's on so I'm sure they'd love a log burner. We'd do the same I think - keep the doors open so the heat can reach the rest of the house but still have the heating on for an hour or two, mainly to dry towels etc.

Had midwife appointment today, she thinks babies are still breech which I'm pretty sure they are too. All fine, my BP was a bit high (not as high as it was when I was in labour ward last weekend) but she didn't seem worried. Apparently it can be higher with a twin pregnancy and she thinks my consultant may want me to be seen weekly to keep an eye on it. We see him on Monday so will see the midwife at his clinic then it's only 3 weeks til they're here anyway.

I can't believe by the end of the month I will be a mummy to not one but two babies

Hi girls, after an absolutely crazy 24 hours which resulted in a mad dash to theatre today, I am so proud to tell you that baby Cormac Sean arrived to this world one month early.
He is a little small at 5 lb 7oz but absolutely perfect.
Having a little trouble so in neo natal for tube feeding and oxygen.
I haven't got a cuddle yet, apart from a few minutes in theatre, hope in the morning to do some skin on skin.

omg what a day you've had! congratulations! I hope you're doing well & little Cormac gets his strength up quickly so you can finally have a cuddle! xx
