***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

I'd have the sweep for sure. They only do it if your cervix is favourable?

Can't believe we're all getting to the stage of sweeps and due dates.

We're in for a massive cold snap here in London over the next week as well. Need to pack the thicker snow suit for bub

I've just collected my prescription for peptac. Finally at nearly 39 weeks my gp figured it might be a good idea to give me 1litre rather than a single 500ml bottle. That should definitely see me through to the 'other side'. One happy pregnant lady, it's the small things eh!

Just confirming that I can also be added to the front page.

Our beautiful little girl still has no name as we were expecting a boy but she is perfect, arriving wednesday 15th jan at 1055am, weighing a healthy 8lb 9oz after 41+5 weeks of waiting.

Labour started at 7am and was fast like predicted, made it to the birthing centre for 10am just in time to get in to the pool for delivery less than an hour later. my waters never went so she was actually delivered into the pool in her waters which was an awesome bonus. Couldn have done it though without my husband, hypnobirthing or the gas and air!

Good luck to you overdue ladies, trust me I feel your pain. X

Congratulations Nay.

Sounds like a fab experience.

Am I correct in that you were told boy at 20w scan? Or did you just think boy?

I am sure your little girl is a very happy surprise regardless.

X

Thanks for the congrats, at the scan we told the lady we didnt want to know but we both thought we saw boy bits just at the point she said'whoops' and moved on quickly she then referred to it as a boy twice nefore going back to calling it either. So although we knew she could be a girl this definitely seemed quite confirmed, so maybe we should have just asked as its even harder choosing a name now she is here!

I will keep checking in to see how everyone gets on. Thanks for the support. X

Sorry thread hopping to catch up on new babies! So exciting! Congrats naydueanyday! That's a lovely surprise for a girl......you'll think of a name soon!

I think I'm similar.......we are team yellow. But all along I'm convinced it's a boy, thought I saw boy bits on the scan too and the sonographer also referred to him as a 'he' so I'll be bloody shocked if it's a girl! Plus we already have a 2 year old boy! Guess I might need to mentally prep for a girl?......

Ooh I think I saw boy bits on one of my growth scans but I've got a feeling we're pink.

Huge congrats Nay. Boys were the dominant sex in this group so nice to have some more girlies :)

Yep we def 'need' more January girlie's lol.

I didn't see anything with James and even when they showed me the in depth potty shot this time I still couldn't tell what I was looking at? I'm rubbish.

Congrats nay. What a shock. I'm convinced im having a girl as I didn't see boy bits and everyone has said my scan picture looks like a girl. Will be shocked if I have a boy. No.signs at all from me. Baby hasnt engaged, no braxton hicks, no show, no nesting. Will be a long wait I think x

Congrats nay xxx

Myself and Oisin got home today xx happy out now he's a real grubber just had 3 oz and had 3 at 12.45 xx

Just added Janet and Nay's baby's to first page! 2 team yellow girlies - woo hoo!!!

Nay, when you have a name I'll add it.

Anyone heard from Tinsel Cat? I know little one had lost a bit of birth weight but I hope they are home now and just too busy to post?

Buzz, hope you aren't waiting too much longer. These baby's are all a bit extreme? Either pretty early or quite late. Keep us posted.

Nothing at all going on with me. Feeling OK though. Still got lots to do and am just enjoying being a lady of leisure!

X

Thanks Carnat. Still here, still pregnant. Have resigned myself to being induced on Monday but the thought terrifies me!

Congrats to all the new January mums, seems like baby's are being born at a ridiculous rate!

I've not been on for a few days, have been really struggling the last few days, crying at hubby every time he gets in from work. Have had horrendous back pain, and the only comfortable place to be is laying on my side on the sofa. However when I saw the midwife this week she told me baby is no longer engaged, and the head is now free. Hearing that he is travelling in the wrong direction pretty much broke me! Since then I have tried to spend as much time as possible back on my birthing ball but it really hurts my upper back, and I end up getting into a right state. Also done some long walks, and whilst I feel ok when I'm out, my back kills later on for it. I've just totally had enoug (I know lots of people feel the same) and feeling very sorry for myself.

Sorry for the miserable post amongst all the happy news, feel like I just need a bloody good slap!

Awww spallerina u poor thing xxxxx
It's the waiting now that's killing isn't it !! I'm 40 plus 3 now and i was convinced it was happening lastnight as we walked round tesco and then got home. A lot of weight and south pulling, extra discharge in undies then nothing. Nadda. Zilch. :(
The midwife has me booked for induction next Saturday night so at least in my head I can think 'just one more week maximum til the ball is rolling. But I just would love if he came himself tonight xxxxxx

Congrats on the new babies, i think Nayanyday and Janet's are the ones i'd missed!

Fx some of us get some movement soon, very frustrating.

I think this might sum up how we all feel at the mo!!

I never got round to posting my nursery pics as the image upload stopped working on my phone and only works on the laptop. These are the first ones i took after we'd built the wardrobe and cot so its looks a bit sparse, its more to show you the paint! There's now a dresser and a few more bits and bobs in there.

Yay for getting home TS :)

Big hugs Spallerina. The last few days are tough when you are physically hurting.

Love the nursery pic Candy

As for me...my milk came in 2 days ago and came in properly this time so breastfeeding is well and truly established and going great. Nips are a bit sore but I can live with that. Never really came in properly with my son so we ony made it to 12 days before completely giving up. I have no issue with formula feeding and it was fine for my son but its definitely easier and more convenient for me to just wap a boob out than faff with bottles, temperature, sterilising etc. Not enjoying the engorgment though, they never got engorged first time around as I barely made any milk.

If its any comfort our little guys head didn't engage propperly until I was in established labour. I guess its a lot more common with a second baby but goes to show that not being engaged doesn't mean you won't go into labour.
