***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

James has co slept since last Dec (he was poorly and in hospital for 3 nights so ever since then he has ended up in with us). Even now he has his own room he is on a mattress on our floor.

So yep he sleeps and is a good sleeper as long as its on his terms.

As soon as ML starts we're going to try to get him in his own room.

Sunflower, thats what ML is for - cake and daytime naps lol.

Another week in the office for me from tomorrow. Albeit a 2.5 day week.

Lol, somehow LOs have a habit of ending up with things on their terms :). Right enough I just saw in another thread that you were having trouble getting James to sleep in his own bed. Our girl is awful when she is ill but fine in her own cot the rest of the time. Her cot is still in our room though :). When the baby is a few months old we are going to start on works so that LO has her own room (I just can't handle the idea of works at the moment). Even then her room is going to be upstairs from us so it might be a while before she sleeps there. Untill then we are crazy enough to have them both in our room! Let's see how that goes!

Hope all you January mummy's are well.

I'm probably should be? A December mummy again lol. I'm being induced 28 December I had reduced movement on Friday for second time and they offered me a sweep didn't work thank goodness I totally forgot for a split second it was my son's birthday yesterday! On Friday I forgot lol cause my head was everywhere. As it was my second time they offered to induce me .. want me over 38 weeks I'm 38 weeks tomorrow so next Sunday it is. Hopefully this time next week I'll be in labour !!!

So I have a 20 December son xmas eve daughter and more then likely end December son/ daughter oh my goodness.

Ladies who have been here before. What did you do for 3rd stage. Natural or injection?

Wowser... December is a busy time of year for you hey? Lol.

I have a friend who has a crimbo eve baby and my cousin and my friend are both 28th Dec babies. They all love their Birthdays. Also have a friend who's little boy is 19th. Was at his party yesterday.

I had injection last time. I was undecided when I went in... on my birth plan I said I wanted to decide at the time. As I had a long delivery tho (over 2 hours) they needed placenta out immediately so I didn't have a choice. I didn't even notice injection or really register delivering placenta? I'll opt injection again this time. I think lol

I wanted natural but opted for the injection when it came down to it. I remember delivering the placenta and that final physical relief. It wasn't sore at the time (the injection) but I discovered a reasonably sore 50p size bruise the next day!

I wanted natural but because it took a while to push baby out and I had an episoitomy, they recommended injection so I just went with it. I've asked to go natural again this time but will just play it by ear when it happens. Injection was fine to be honest and I was so busy snuggling J that I wasn't paying that much attention to delivering placenta.

Ladies, I can't sleep and am having a freak out. Last week midwife told me baby is back to back. Had a suspicion it was. Asked what I could do to help. Have been doing exercises and know for a fact baby hasn't moved. Have the biggest dip in my bump when I lie down and all movement is still to the front. I am terrified of labour as it is but this is making me so much more scared. I really don't want an instrumental delivery and the thought of it is really scaring me.
Sorry for ranting. Just had to get it out.

Mrs w my babbas back to back as well. My back aches so much with it and it's so uncomfortable. I have a scan tomorrow and will see if she's spun round but should really be doing more exercises.

I'm booked in for a c section though so I'm not too worried, it's just if I go into labour sooner.

At least I know baby will be here 3 weeks today at the very latest!! X

36 weeks today :D At this point last time, I was relaxing at home thinking I still had 6 weeks to go as I was convinced I would go over due. Little scamp arrived out of the blue a week later!

This week I am going to be relaxing instead for Christmas. We've arranged to go to my folks with hospital bag and notes on hand so I don't have to stress about cooking the dinner and hosting for the family. Looking forward to finally being able to put my feet up and relax.

Mrs _W, you still have time to get baby to turn and sometimes they turn themselves into the best position during labour. If baby does stay back-to-back then you could discuss the best pain relief options with midwife beforehand so you are prepared for all eventualities. Back-to-back labour doesn't necessarily mean a delivery with instruments. Big hugs though hun, these last few weeks can be a bit stressful can't they xx

Happy 36w Ceecee!

Often back to back babies can turn in labour, so I really wouldn't worry.

MW can advise

There have been a few more January babies born - eeekkk!

Making it seem very real all of a sudden isn't it Nat! I'm think I'm still in a bit of denial that I will have another baby soon...J keeps me so busy that I haven't got my head around having 2 yet!!

I am the same Ceecee, not had a moment to myself to even comprehend that I am actually having another one.

Told OH to expect a melt-down any day though as it's bound to hit me soon.

Sorry Ronnie, touch wood I am feeling quite healthy at the moment?? If in any doubt ring your MW hun.

Actually dare I say I am feeling a lot more energised than I was a few weeks back. I may well make it through in one piece

Am at work with the radio blaring, looking at stuff I will be buying in the January sales !!

Did all my washing and even though I have a fair bit I am still worried it's not enough?? Baby will be in sleepsuits for the first few months [actually for as long as possible - I think sleepsuits are just so much easier for comfort] so I am going to stock up in various sizes in the sales.

MrsW- as others have said its pretty common for baby to be back to back at the beggining of labour and most will turn themselves. It can make the earlier stages of labour take a bit longer while they turn. If you are worried have a look for labour positions that help baby turn. I think leaning forward or hands and knees is suposed to help?

I had a natural 3rd stage. My contractions stopped after the baby was born. We did delayed cord clamping and cord was cut about 15 mins later. Shortly after that I was busy having cuddles on the bed when I had the sudden urge to push again. After a couple of fairly mild contractions it came out quite easily. I enjoyed the break from contractions while I got to meet and cuddle baby.

Scary how close it's getting now xx

Had my 36 week appointment and very unhappy with it there was trace protein in my urine and BP was up slightly and she just felt baby and listened to heartbeat said its fine in there and sent me off home :( I haven't seen baby in ages and I just want to cry now really thought this far on I'd get another peek at him due to Tyler stopping growing at 30 weeks xx sorry for the moan.

Mrs W, there's every chance the baby will turn (still plenty of time - there's December babies not born yet! :) )

I was a back-to-back baby and eventually delivered with forceps. My mum strongly recommends an epidural based on her experience, so keep that in mind if baby is stubborn.

Ronnie - hope you feel better soon!
TS - sorry to hear you're worried, at least baby appears to be well. xx
ceecee - happy 36 weeks! hope baby doesn't give you a surprise this time :)

I have a 37 week scan tomorrow morning to check baby's position. Am certain he's still transverse.

TC I have a scan tomorrow morning too :-)))

Two different people today have told me I'm tiny for 36 weeks- I thought I was massive?! Oh well, I'll find out tomorrow.

Having a hectic day- spent all morning in town Xmas shopping as Freddie's at nursery so making the most of it!!! Now have to tackle the cleaning before going to get him and cooking bolognaise and all I want to do is sleep!!!

It sounds like we're all suffering now!!!

Anyone else struggling in bed? I literally dread bedtime because turning over is so hard and the indigestion won't go either!!

Other than that everything's fine ;-)

Jolly, I dread bed time now too. As tired as I am, I spend the entire night tossing and turning, trying to stop cramp and getting indigestion, and it takes an age to turn over. Thankfully I've been sleeping in the spare room for a couple of weeks now so I don't disturb hubby all night. It's a bit poo as I miss sharing a bed with him, but he'd end up getting no sleep either otherwise.

Good luck for the scans tomorrow ladies. Are they both to find out positions or are they growth scans too?

This little one is definitely still head down...confirmed by the foot that has been wedged under my rib for the last few hours. Can only liken it to how it feels when you scrape a muddy boot on a boot scraper, only she's scraping her foot on my rib instead. Ouch.

Are you feeling any better Ronnie?

Ceecee it's a reassurance/growth scan- as Freddie stopped growing around 35 weeks they're going to check how she's doing, but also because of the anterior placenta and movements etc- it's purely because of the previous problems I had. But I have a haircut after so will
Hopefully feel reassured AND slightly human ;-) x
