*******February mummies 2015*******

So they reckon but like a sweep I believe it would only work when body is ready. Much more relaxing than a sweep that's for sure!

Well i hope your pains amount to something and we have another baby soon.

I would love to say i will be next but think thats very VERY unlikely and would feel a bit guilty for pushing the que. Im happy to wait until saturday but anything after that and i will have to have words with baby!!! Xx

Ha bless ya Mrs j well we should av some babies soon as it feels like ages ago scince we did knowing us all we end up all having them at same time xx gonna route Toni and flick too as they seem way over due xx

I do keep checking in on you ladies & seeing if we have anymore babies! You ladies that are overdue, I bet you are SO fed up :( eat those pineapple slices and bounce on those balls, (not your OH's ;))

I've finally come back down to earth after Ruby's birth, I've know turned into an emotional wreck like I was when I was pregnant! James is working what feels like all day everyday so I'm doing most of the feeds. Think I'm coming down with a cold too. I'm desperate to get Ruby in to a routine and I know it won't yet happen! You ladies that have already had children, did you go through an emotional/crying at nothing spell?

Sorry for moaning on here, but no other thread is like this one!

Xxxx

Pip I'm still emotional three weeks later! I was crying at the chavs on Jeremy Kyle this morning, WTF!!
Better out than in hun xxx

Pip ur allowed to av moan as much as u want :) we are here for u can't belive this time next month we all be in baby toddler now that's scary xxx

My friend who has just had a baby warned me about the baby blues, she said she cried over everything!

Well Ive had an epic afternoon.........long story short:

Midwife went to do a sweep but said my waters had went at some point as she could feel none.
Off to the hospital after being told I would be induced asap....

Another midwife examined and she thought she could feel the waters...basically I got a scan and waters were within normal range....

So in comes a senior registrar and she examined me and promised she would give me another good sweep after I asked her. She could feel my waters bulging and separated all the membranes from my cervix, said im 2 cm dilated and 1.5cm thick and head is right down so doesn't think I will be long.

Have been having some strong pains on and off since about 5pm not started timing them but think I will go in for a bath after I have eaten and then see how I get on.

Phew....hoping labour is imminent x

Pip- baby blues in the first few days/weeks after giving birth is really common- you still have a huge amount of hormones swishing round your body.

Don't feel bad about it, just let the years out. I can remember when I had Harry, we were sat eating tea, that hubby had lovingly made, and I just burst into tears for no reason. Poor hubby thought he's cooked a rubbish tea. The worst thing is I couldn't even explain why I was crying- but rest assured everyone goes through it

How come James is working- is he not on paternity leave?

And with the routine- in my kindest way I say this- just forget it. Go with the flow, and enjoy the first few weeks/months with ruby. They're precious times that you'll never get back, so don't waste energy trying to achieve the impossible

Ignore anyone that says their newborn has a routine/sleeps fantastically/is a genius......there's plenty of time ahead for routines to be made

And trust me... In a few months you'll think you've got a bit of a routine, then they'll get I'll, or start teething and it'll all go to pot!!

Sorry for my essay, I just want you first time mummies to enjoy every second of your babies, without worrying what everyone else thinks!!

I was fairly relaxed first time round, but human nature makes us compare ourselves to other mums/babies, and that's the worst thing to do!!

Stepping off my mummy advice podium, just another day in my pregnancy done with!! Sat bouncing on my ball in the hope that it makes a difference... Got my second sweep tomorrow at 12 xx

Yeah, baby blues are real :( So many emotions after having a baby but it does pass hun :) I wouldn't worry too much about a routine until after baby is 6 weeks. I know it's different for every baby but that's when I found and have seen things settle down with other mums and babies too. So much developement happens in those first 6 weeks.

So midwife felt baby today and it's still brimming so she didn't do an internal examination. She's asked me to wait 48 hours and see if baby decides to move further down in order for that to be done before having a sweep. If all goes to plan and baby does move down by thursday (40+9) and my cervix is favourable by then ill have a sweep and then wait.
If none of the above then I need to go into hospital and have a talk with the consultants about a possible controlled induction. But if they feel both me and baby are ok then they'll leave me til 40+12. By then my options start to run out... :(

I completely agree with Becky!!!

Starlight, exciting news!! :D Please give us a baby tonight/tomorrow! I need something to get my hormones go all crazy over. Im going MAD!

Starlight, hope baby comes soon!

Ohhhhh you guys are the best, made me feel much better.. As always! I am going to forget routine, it'll come soon enough. We had Ruby on the Sunday & James went back to work on Wednesday. It was a mutual decision because the pay is sooooo awful :( we still have the weekends. I appriciate your essay becky, thank you!!

Lol brumgirl, that is funny! I'm not that bad yet......!! Give it time, the way i'm going anyway!

Honestly babyC, just wait! I cried because Ruby was sick and it went in all her gorgeous hair. I felt awful..!!

Aww flick, i hope your body agrees with the sweep. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Big hugs

Xx

Starlight... Exciting stuff!!

Pip- glad the words helped!! I honestly don't want to come across as a know all, but I remember those early days very well... I'm hoping to go with the flow a bit more this time xx
