Clomid girlies thread

That's very exciting, Snowbee. You're a stronger person than I to have not poas yet! X

Well I'm out. Clomid hasn't worked for me. I did have two days of faint lines so I either had a duff batch of tests or a chemical. Gutted and dreading having to go back to trying naturally with my on and off ovulation. At least clomid made me ov and gave us a chance!

Oh Snowbee. I am so sorry. Is there any chance of a further 3 months? I know some consultants will do it. Not sure on your thoughts of taking more though?

Don't give up hope xxx

Snowbe, can't you go back on it after 6 months off it? I've been reading up on clomid and read something somewhere you can have a break, then go back on it? Xx

Hope you ladies don't mind me posting here, I feeling so nervous!

I am on my first clomid cycle and today I have my second scan to see if clomid is working.

First scan was last week and showed large follicles (which apparently is a good sign), from what I understand today I want them to be gone as that would mean I ovulated?

Already convinced myself I have so many 'pregnancy' symptoms, but I know it is way to early!

So happy! After my scan today I have been told that I ovulated (possibly even twice).

I'm feeling hopeful for the first time in months! :)

Thanks ladies. I would love to take more but I am not sure my consultant will agree. He said 6 months max, then our 1 ivf attempt. I would prefer more clomid but it is unlikely to be an option. I will ask him though, our appointment is at the end of July.

FX for you! I hope he lets you take more clomid, I don't really understand why we are only allowed so many cycles, surely its cheaper and easier than IVF!

Generally you aren't allowed more than 6 months of clomid. It can thin your lining (and then there is nothing to implant into), it increases your cancer risk and there are studies that show if you don't conceive in the first 6 cycles your chances of it working after that are very remote. I would like to try more, my periods if anything are a little heavier than before, so lining must still be ok. Cancer risk is reset to normal if you have a child. Being infertile itself is an increased cancer risk. As I think our last cycle did work I think more clomid will work for me. Not sure consultant will agree but we will have to wait and see.

Hope it is going well for you Nemi, two eggs is great (I think I may have had two eggs on my last cycle) :)

Keep us updated when you know if you are allowed more!

I'm just waiting now, I really hate this bit!.

I had already convinced myself that this was it because I had so many 'pregnancy symptoms', but then I googled clomid and found out that quite a few people get pregnancy type symptoms when on clomid, especially first time round, so now I'm feeling less hopeful!

When she I asked about monitoring scans she said I don't need them? Is this right?

No you should be having scans really, my clinic won't give it without. I would push for them otherwise you won't know if the dose is correct. What dose are you on? Exciting times I hope it works for you!

I've got three more clomid cycles (including this one) then I've got three letrozole cycles (and I'll be getting scans for those to check it works as it will be my first time on it). Hopefully one of these will be the one!

Fx for you Snowbee!
I don't see her now for another month. I thought I could start today as I had bleeding after dtd yesterday but now it's completely stopped. If I take something to start the bleeding can I start on the clomid that way? It's CD50 today and it's perfect timing considering Mark living away mon-Friday.

Yes I had to have a bleed induced for my first clomid cycle. Might be worth asking then you can crack on with the clomid. I'm CD17 and have had a stonking great positive ovulation test so must make sure there are plenty of little swimmers there waiting tonight!

Just rang the doctors and managed to get in today to get tablets to induce a bleed. I know it's not far away but it needs to happen this week!

Snowbee do you remember what you took to induce AF? Got a locum GP who basically said it doesn't exist and tried to tell me I need to wait it out and ovulate. Broke down in the car.

Sugar pop you can induce a bleed with progesterone suppositories called cyclogest.

I think you take it for a week then stop, stopping induces the bleed.

You could order online? I did and got my clomid delivered this morning.

Take a look on Oxford pharmacy.

Xx

I don't think I want to order from an online place. I know what I need but at the same time I want to make sure medically it's ok. I'm afraid I wouldn't trust anywhere selling clomid.

It's not just a random website, you pay for a private consultation with a GP and discuss all your medical history.

I'll go and get the information they sent me about clomid and take a pic it's really imformative.

Xx
