Clomid girlies thread

I said to my mum I might have a private appointment and just get the tabs from there. She suggested the morning after pill because it brings a period on.

I think that's actually a genius idea, if I'm right it's a huge dose of progesterone. 😀

I'm worried if I take the morning after pill that by the time I bleed, is that a real period?

I don't think it matters the aim is to get a fresh new lining of your womb to start a fresh cycle.

In my clomid leaflet it recommend norethisterone 5mg 3x a day for 10 days.

Sugar I've taken norethisterone the times I've needed a bleed inducing, there is also a similar medication called provera. Norethisterone is a contraceptive that is more commonly used to delay a period, ie if you are getting married and are due af you can start taking it just before you are due on and it will push you back. For those of us who need bleeds inducing it basically kicks your hormones into thinking you are at a certain point in your cycle, then when you stop taking it you bleed.

You can get it from Oxford online (and they are a proper pharmacy with real doctors) or I would go back to your gp and tell them they are an idiot! Or ask to see another GP who might actually know what they are doing. If you get it from your GP it is free (as it comes under contraceptives, which are free).

Omg. I mentioned Northesterone to her because I usually use it to stop bleeding. Normally it's good for me and stops it and makes it more manageable. How long should I take it? I am wondering if I have some in a drawer somewhere!

If I take it, can I class my period as a real period or do I wait for the next one?

Is this to bring a bleed on?

No need to buy! I have 3 boxes of 5mg! I have said to OH it can't mess my 52 day cycle up anymore can it?!

looked at my instructions on the box and it says take for 7 days so I'm going to do that and hope AF arrives quickly!

I think I had to take it for 10 days, I don't remember the dose though. Yey for having some in stock!

Well last night I had a bit of pink spotting and this morning I had a bit of red too. Hoping to god this is CD1. Looks like it's going to be a light period which is fine I guess. Take clomid tomorrow? Even if AF is light?

My Af is always light, I think if you are sure it is AF then go for it, if you think it is just random spotting then I would hold off.

Well its held around more than the last random spotting I had. It was read earlier and now its brown but its enough to have to wear a liner. I know my periods are sometimes really light and more brown than red so I'm pretty confident I can go ahead and start it. I expect more red over night and in the morning.

May take my Clomid tomorrow evening. Wont forget it then and less chance to have side effects!

Hey Hun,

It may be an idea to do your day one bloods at your docs and check your levels are at baseline.

I personally think I'd induce the bleed as a fresh lining would give a better chance of a good implantation.

Any more bleeding?

Xx

Hi everyone,

I hope you don't mind me posting here. DH and I have been ttc no 2 since November 2014. I have a previous endometriosis diagnosis. I had some left sided ovarian pain which was investigated but all ok and my periods have become irregular, which I am told could point to a hormonal issue. I saw a fertility consultant for the first time 6 weeks ago. I had bloods done (I've also had an ultrasound) and hubby had sperm analysis, which were all 'normal'.

I've been given a prescription for cliomid 50mg yesterday to use on days 2-6 of my cycle but I'm not sure if it will work for us if all my tests were ok so I may not have an ovulation problem? I'm a bit confused.

Is anyone else around still who is taking cliomid?

It's gone back to being really really light pink when wiping. Will give it to dinner & then take a northesterone I think. No idea if this is AF or just random spotting again.

Definitely AF. Lots of red today. Do I class yesterday as CD1 or today?

Sugar I would probably count today as CD1. I'm supposed to take my clomid days 2-6 but I've had better ovulation when I've done 3-7 (which I did twice as my AF arrived later on during the day).

Welcome ABC. Clomid can help with egg quality too so that could help you out. Are you having scans on your first cycle? I'm on my 7th clomid cycle now and I'm currently 4dpo.

Maybe baby do you get your bloods done privately? My gp/fertility clinic will only sign off on one set but I see from your posts you have had yours done quite a bit? Wondering where you get them done and how much it costs?
