Clomid girlies thread

Maybe baby do you get your bloods done privately? My gp/fertility clinic will only sign off on one set but I see from your posts you have had yours done quite a bit? Wondering where you get them done and how much it costs?

You can get them privately through the NHS. It is like £15 per item on the test!

Thanks snowbee. I'm not actually having any monitoring, no. After reading this thread that seems a bit worrying. Im really hoping this works because it's kind of disheartening that all our tests were 'OK' because I would rather there were a reason it's been so long. I read your clomid story through this thread. I have my fingers crossed for you.

I don't know if it's any help sugarpop but my consultant said to count cd1 as the first day you have full flow before 1pm.

Yesterday wasn't full flow BUT sometimes my periods are really light. I'm counting yesterday as CD1 because I did have red bleeding and it was a reasonable amount. Had a huge and I mean HUGE clot today. I hope it's not going to be horrific! Going to take my clomid tonight at 10pm.

Even if today is CD1, I don't think it would be much difference in 1 day. Maybe I would just release more than 1 egg. Even 1 egg will do! ha

Well you know your body the best. I can't imagine 1 day making that much difference, no. Is this your first cycle of using clomid?

IT is my first cycle and I don't know how to feel.

I am optimistic and have hope and I don't feel like I should. I can't let myself think it would be so easy and so lucky for this to work. In my head I've always expected to have to fight for it with IVF.

Whenever there is a chance that I might be pregnant or that something new might help I ALWAYS start to worry about things that really don't matter and then start thinking what if & daydreaming about prams.

There is something wrong with me!

There's nothing wrong with you, it's normal to worry but it's good to have hope! I'm starting my first cycle with clomid hopefully this weekend so we'll be able to compare symptoms. I know what you mean about not daring to think this will work. After so long you start to think it will never happen!

We can be clomid buddies!!! I'll only be a day or two ahead of you!

I have decided for my first cycle I am not going to do OPK's. I don't want to obsess. I'll get my Day21 bloods done and go from there. Me doing OPK's won't change it or not, just make me go bonkers.

I worked out that even though Oh works away (mon-fri) there is no point where there are no swimmers in there (he has fantastic sperm apparently as well!), so it should be a good enough chance. Providing I ov before CD19 I'll have spent 2 weeks with him anyway so we should have the best chance possible. But knowing my luck, I won't bloody ovulate!

Do you usually ovulate? If so then when is it normally? I think not doing OPKs is a good plan, just dtd regularly and try to enjoy!! How many cycles are you doing/what dose? I've been given 3 at 50mg. I'm excited to get started!

I'm the same. Have to go back in 3 months but also considering to ring the clinic after my 1st round to up my dose if 50mg hasn't worked. Only get a 6 month shot at this and if you think it can take the average couple up to a year....we gotta get lucky!

I do ovulate sometimes. I think I had a chemical at the end of May which was probably the last time I ovulated that cycle.

Sugar are you getting scans? If you don't have scans and you don't do opks how are you going to get your blood test done on the correct day? On clomid I have ovd from CD17-CD23 so my blood test would have been totally wrong on CD21 every time.

Nope no scans. The dr specifically said day 21. I asked what if my cycle was longer and she said nope. Definitely day 21. I'm nt really sure that they are looking after me properly! Lol

AF has gone light again now. Still watered when wiping though. Hopefully it was just really light ha I remember I used to have like 4 days of basically spotting as AF!

I was worried for a second thinking that this might not be AF. BUT if I had have taken it this morning I was bleeding fully then so now I'm not too worried again.

Is this always an emotional roller coaster or just because AF is being a bitch and won't show up properly in 1 go? Lol

Hi girls,

I ovulate on my own I got put on clomid after 18 months ttc with early miscarriages but basically because I went private and asked for it to improve my chances.

I've probably done about 6 clomid cycles in total, I used to take days 2-6 50mg But I got pee'd off when I didn't catch and upped to 100mg that ended up being my little boy.

With my 2nd I took 50mg days 4-8 and that was a twin pregnancy til week 10/11.

They say only take as much as you need to ov as it thins the lining.

This cycle I've taken 50mg days 1-5, I've done that because I've been oving early recently and also as hubby's going away.

I'm cd4 now.

With my bloods I've always done my hcg at the docs twice a week in early pregnancy. They are quite good really. I don't think they'll ever refuse you asking. It's perfectly reasonable.

Sugar really hope af gets going again!

Xx

It's so confusing isn't is sugar. I would try not to stress and just carry on taking the clomid now you've started.

Hi maybe baby. Hope this works for you! When you upped to 100 and had your son was that your doctor telling you to or did you just do it?

I am just waiting for AF to start so I can start taking them!! I'm already thinking will 50mg be enough! They've given me enough for 50mg for 3 months but also enough to go up to 100 if I get to cd 44 (which will never happen with me).

Oh your lucky!!! My dr has only given me enough for 50mg so I know it won't be enough!

Sugar your doctor is wrong. You need your bloods doing 8 days after you get a positive opk, just going on day 21 won't give you correct results unless you ovulate on CD14. If I had had mine done on day 21 it would have been 2 days before I ovulated on one cycle so it would have shown the clomid didn't work when it did but later than their 'normal' day 14. I would recommend opking and ignoring your GP and going 8 days after your positive. Otherwise you won't know if 50mg is working for you and you will just have to wait for a bleed or not if it has done nothing.

Hi Hun,

No I totally went crazy desperate for my sticky bfp and took it myself!

I'm definitely sticking with 50mg from now on.

Good luck!

Please be careful. Whilst some people do need a higher dose, others are very sensitive and over-respond (I was told it was a symptom of PCOS). I was one such lady and got 8 mature follicles on 50mg and 5 on 25mg! I was supposed to be doing IUI with clomid but they gave up and I just did natural cycles instead. My sister was given 6 months of 50mg clomid by her GP and not monitored!!! Nothing happened during that time but she got pregnant naturally after she stopped it. Xxx
