ok i know its totally controversial BUT have any of you pierced ur kids ears young??

i used to hate it but ive seen some v cute kiddies in town and i think it is cute!? lol

altho my personal opinion is against it as i feel it is up to the individual if and when they pierce their ears, and also the thot of paying for something that hurts them makes me cringe haha!!

but looks wise i love it!! hehe :wall2: im on a see saw and cant make my mind up!! haha xx

I dont agree with it personaly, yes i find it cute on some babies but then i look at Maisies ears and think why put holes in something so perfect !

I personaly am going to make Maisie wait until shes 13 as by then it will be her choice and something she can have when she becomes a teenager. I wish i hadn't of got my ears pierced now at the age that i did.

I love the fact that I have my ears pierced. I never remember having them done (the first set haha) as my Dad got me to have them done while very very young as he went by the rule that "if you get them done as early as possible when they don't know what's happening then they won't play around with them and try pulling them out". I can understand and see this logic but personally I couldn't do it to Layla. I want her to have the choice. I agree with you - I think it does look cute on some babies but I couldn't do it to her. If you are going to get them done though any earlier than an age when they can choose that they can have them done, then it might be worth just doing them sooner rather than later based on my Dad's theory lol. Sorry for my waffle lol. Hope I've made sense... getting very tired now lol xx

Mmmm I'm not sure.. I don't necessarily agree or disagree, it's up to the mummy. I remember getting mine done 2 weeks before my communion as a treat and I was so excited to get them done and have studs in for my big day  I felt so grown up afterwards x

hmmm... I'm pretty anti this I have to say. I don't think it looks cute - the opposite in fact (please don't take offence anyone!) I think it can look pretty tacky ...it's like putting little girls in high heels and make-up. They'll grow up fast enough, don't rush the process.
I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 13 and it was MY decision and I felt so grown up and sophisticated after they were done( shows how much I knew :))..and then I had all the fun of buying ear-rings to match outfits and being given "good" ear-rings for birthday presents etc... some of them I still have!

I'm against it... Without trying to offend anyone... I think it's a very chavvy/pikey-esque thing to do if you know what I mean... It ruins a baby's innocence :/
Hope I haven't offended anyone, it's just my opinion x

I'm not totally against it but I do think you should wait until they want it done.
Lacey's 5 and still hasn't had them done. I've mentioned afew times if she wants them done and she said no so I'll wait until she does x x

I was 8 when I had mine done and I asked for it as a birthday present. I don't remember it hurting either. I was old enough to know to twist them and to look after them. Isla won't be getting hers done. I don't like seeing babies with earrings :( x

I personally think you should wait until the child can make up their own mind. I don't agree with putting a child through pain to make them look cute, but that's just my opinion.

I had my ears pierced wen i was a baby, but now that my ears have grown as I've got older, the holes are in the wrong place, and look a bit stupid when I wear studs.

X

i did with my eldest girls when they was little and i wish i never did my eldest dd ended up with the butterfly but stuck in her ear and when they are in school you have to take them out or cover them for p.e i wont be getting Rhians done

I don't like it on small children. When ellas old enough to make her own mind up I'll let her... but when that is will depend on how mature it is... I'll play is by ear (no pun intended lol!)

My kids ears belong to them, not me. If they choose to put holes in them when they are older, up to them x

so were pretty much all of the same opinion thanks girls! lol and zazu i never even considered the ears growing and maybe not being positioned properly!!

i had mine done at 5 because i begged apparently and my elder sister didnt get hers done till she was 18 haha!! so my parents didnt mind and mum has said since at the time she didnt want me getting mine done really but i did and she thot i wud get fed up after a couple of months but i never did :) i think i was a diva!! but yeah mine arent positioned right either esp for studs and if i wear hoops one sits slanted but mummy said when i was young they were perfect so it must have been same reason as zazu xxx

xxx

I know I'm a bit late but what the hell.

I don't agree with this as it should be up to the child to decide when and IF they want their ears pierced.

I was 8 or 9 when i had my first set done and I felt so grown up and I loved them. It was my choice and I know my mum doens't regret letting me have them done.

I just think that at the end of the day, I wouldn't be happy if my mum had done that to me and I later decided I didn't want them and was left with the scarring

I wont be piercing Paiges, but when I believe she can look after them and she wants them then Ill take her :)

I wouldn't like holes put in my body without my consent, and I don't see a difference between that and piercing a babys ears without them being able to say no.

If that makes sense :/

I dont like the look on little toddlers/babies in prams, as I personally think it looks chavvy (especially hoops but studs don't look too bad). But I think it looks cute on older girls, I decided I would ask my daughter if she wanted it done a cpl of months before she started primary school but she didn't want to plus OH said he wouldn't speak to me if I did it. She she said to me the other day...mummy I dont ever want to get my ears pierced coz it would be too sore.

:)

I remember getting mine done after my 11plus exam lol. I wanted them done long before that but my parents said no way. I'm glad that they did that, and I would do the same. I think when the child is old enough to make a sensible decision then they can do it. However, I now have my ears pierced four times in one ear and three times in the other and my belly pierced twice and my tongue done too so it never put me off lol

If I have a little girl she'll not be getting it done til she's at least the same age I was :)

My mum got my ears pierced when I was 1 and I really don't have a problem with it whatsoever, I don't feel I was robbed of a personal decision and I'm quite pleased I don't remember the pain.

Still, I wouldn't pierce my child's ears as you never know how they're going to feel about it.

I have to be honest, I'm totally against it. I don't like the way it looks either. X

My girls have theirs done, my eldest has had them done twice (she let the first lot close up) but she was 8 or 9 i think, then they had them done not xmas just gone the one before Lauryn (eldest) was 10 and Alisha-Mae was 5 it was Alisha-Maes choice too we kept asking her and she watched her big sis have it done first n still wanted them doing

I knew a girl once who had her babys ears done when she was 2 weeks old!!! Now that i dont agree with! xx
