I don't know why but using reusable nappies has never even entered my head! I don't know why, just always went for disposable... Are they easy to use? To me just seems like more 'faffing' about.. But then again I've never tried so wouldn't no! Just use whatever your happy with hun, your the one who will be washing and changing LO..:) xx

morning all :)

Tracey - i think it sounds like you've already made up your mind :) we were looking into it, but OH didn't seem to keen on it so have decided to go for the eco disposables! going to use all my free pampers/huggies first and then will know more about sizes of the eco ones as apparently they come up bigger!

hows everyone's aches and pains today? i still don't think i'm getting any real pre-labour signs, occupationally getting slight period type pain (mainly when stood up) still don't know if little man is engaged or not, mw didn't write it in, but she had to press so hard that it hurt and she was pressing below my bump on the pelvic line! hopefully he's moving int he right direction :)

I was given little lamb reusables from a friend who bought them and never used them, so i'm going to give them a try. I've done a test wash and they come up lovely and don't actually take too long to dry. We have disposables for going out/as back up but i don't know if we will actually need them!

Arrghh!!
Some stupid woman really pissed me off today, was on the bus and she came and sat next to me, started talking about bump!! **shock** anyway, she said is this your 1st, so i said no i have a little girl already, her jaw nearly hit the floor and says 'how the hell are you going to cope with 2' i looked at her and thought what you mean by that, i will cope just fine thanks, just like everyone else who has 2, 3, 4+ children! then she goes on about the size of my bump! your huge she says, how long you got left, so i tell her 4weeks and that baby isnt huge due to me being at the hospital a couple times a week... she said what do they know, your bloody huge!.. by this time i wanted to strangle her, luckily she got off at the next stop because i really didnt want to talk to her!! stupid bloody woman! i know she prob didnt mean any harm by it, but i really wish they would just think before opening their gobs!

How is everyone else!?? xx

I'm ready to kill my midwife... Who after not bothering to turn up yesterday without so much as a phone call to let me know and not responding to my text OR answering her phone... Has decided that she's not going to answer her phone today EITHER! But other than that I'm not too bad, just feeling really sick  and got terrible headache :(

Bus woman sounds like one of those people who really should learn to keep their mouths shut... "What do they know" A damn sight more than you love! xx

Im going to use cloth nappies ive done loads of research www.goreal.org.uk have loads of advice.
Bumgenius ones have really good reviews so ive bought a set of 15 of them aswell as some totsbots as they have some really cute designs.
Also bums up modern cloth nappies are cheap and again the designs are so cute.
At first it seems difficult to use them but looking on you tube its really easy.
Also from a financial aspect disposables cost around £500 per year based on 1 pack a week so about £1500 over 3 years.
where as if you get 24 reusable birth to potty nappies it should be around £300 total.

kelly - i think i would have ended up saying something really nasty to her! i'm so glad people don't talk to me about my bump . . . OH thinks it's because i always look so moody!

Heppi - have you got much swelling? i had protein in my urine two appointments running (wasn't there at last appointment) but midwife said to monitor any headaches or funny eyesight! if she's still not answering give the hospital a call! hope your feeling better soon :hugs:

Nah just a bit around my ankles... I'm only trying to get in touch with her cause she was supposed to come round and do my home birth talk yesterday but never showed and didnt even let me know!! x

Thanks for all that honey, I was on lappie for hours last night getting all googly eyed at the choices available. Which one to chose etc. I will always have disposables at ready (my neighbour gave me 3 packs she does not need) especially handy for emergencies when out and about! I'm angling towards little lamb now but will go onto your website link and see if I change my mind....

Glad im not the only one who feels 'weird' :) i also have bad backache aswell today and i had the worst pain in my bum while trying to walk to pick Brooke up from school.. took about 30mins to pick her up and its only between 5-10mins walk :( o well!

Labour  lol, i dont think so, but you never no! that would just be my luck, i will have him before my scan on friday! when i went into hospital on tuesday due to the pains and thought i was leaking the doctor said he doesnt think i will go full term due to my cervix being low considering i still had 5 weeks left at the time, but i have no idea of where my cervix should be..lol i presume its ment to be quite high up if labour isnt close?? but i have no idea? i could of just made that up! o well we will see how the night goes, hopefully we both feel more comfortable soon! xx

Sorry, just been reading through my notes, i havent got a low cervix, ive got a short cervix...still means nothing to me! lol they might be the same thing for all i know! xx

Evening ladies. I think things are finally starting for me. I know it'll be weeks yet but its nice to know things are beginning :) I've had lots of pressure today, like I need to go to the loo (and not for a wee lol) and my tummy feels like I've eaten too much - which I've not at all today for a change lol and I'm having some tightenings. I'm only finding it comfortable to sit on my birthing ball. So I'm happy things are on their way xx

Glad you feel pleased that things are moving in the right direction, better than not feeling any changes at all!! :) 3 weeks to go hun, you must be so excited! Xx

Yep I'm so so excited but I do think I'll be going overdue probably even though I said when I got pregnant I'd go about 37 - 38 weeks so we'll see what happens xxx

Yep little one will arrive when they are ready... I suppose pregnancy is the only time you wish to be in pain!! Well at the end of pregnancy that is! Xx
