*** August mummies 2019 ***

Ours will be first grandchild for my mum and dad. My brother is older but unlucky in love despite always wanting to settle down.

My mum is going to be off the charts excited and my dad is fab with little ones so I am really excited for them but feel a pang of guilt that we are so far away. Hopefully it means when they spend time with us it will be super special x

Aww Kitana my parents are abroad too. Do you find it really hard or ever regret being away?
This is our first baby and I really wonder how it will feel to be far away from them.
My mum and step dad have 8 gran children together and have loved every single one of them just as much.
They have always seen them on something like a 2 weekly basis at the maximum. And some days I feel like I am taking this away from them by being in the UK.

I haven’t told them yet but I know my mum has kept the Moses basket ALL my nephews have been in. It’s 20 years old now but looks as good as new!

Aww that's so sweet, I'm sure your child will be just as welcome as the rest! Where do they live?

My parents live in Thailand and will move to Indonesia in a few months.
They missed the birth of my daughter actually... I was supposed to give birth around June 23 but she decided to come on May 29th! My mother was crying on the phone when we told her. She was so sad she missed it!
I've gotten used to them not being here but since my job takes me away from home a lot, and my oh has day and sometimes night shifts, we have some difficulty in finding someone to take care of our daughter when we're both gone. It would have been easier if they lived here.x

They’re in Belgium which is roughly 7 hours journey door to door and my mum who’s 63 still seems quite keen on doing the driving all the way here (and on the opposite side of the road!)

She calls me a lot so we feel very close but I hope it will feel the same about our little bean!

(Saying that I think she’ll be here a week before my due date and will go broke staying in a hotel just to make sure she’s not in the way !!!)

How funny Kitana! She lives there because I am Belgian :) I moved to England as I met a great British guy :)

Had a scan this morning and all is well. Bean measured a couple of days ahead, at 9 weeks when I counted 8+5, and had a healthy heartbeat. It was already moving about, like a wee shrimp. So relieved. Hopefully this one is a keeper.

Aww lovely news, congrats!

I have my early scan tomorrow, can’t wait! My NHS scan letter came, my 12 week scan is on 19 February, should be nearly 13 weeks by then. X

Not long now to go for me....my scan is a week on Monday. I will be 12+1 I'm super excited to hear a heartbeat. Symptoms have been minimal for a few days now so will be really happy to see something progressing x

I've got that awful taste in my mouth today that you all mentioned. Upset stomach and just generally feel like crap  feel down and just not myself at all

I feel for you Carly! I’ve been lying down like that for about two weeks trying all sorts...
early ginger nut biscuits, crackers, dextro tabs, small and often and all you can imagine.
They say it goes eventually... I am counting !
Hope you feel better soon :)

It's more my mood, just feel really down in the dumps. I did a load of house work and organising things today. Normally makes me feel better! I had a baby free afternoon and now wish I actually spent it resting or asleep I don't know when I'll get another afternoon to myself lol.
It does go eventually the sickness or least it should around the 12 week mark I think they say, not long now and hopefully you'll be feeling much better. It really is a wonderful thing pregnancy. Well the 2nd trimester anyway haha x

Ladies do you need full bladder for early scan? Is it done on your belly like 12 week scan? Thanks x

Hi all.
Im due 19th Aug with our 2nd.
Not having a brilliant time of it so far, but i remember getting a lot of support from this forum 1st time round, so I'm back :) xx

I said my mother was a piece of work but honestly. The night before my first midwives appointment she texts (once I’ve already gone to bed) insinuating there’s important information I don’t know about my family history of pregnancy, and then refuses to tell me anything unless I call her. Which actually would probably be better next week. (This is a dig because I haven’t been in touch much recently)

I was none to pleased when I rang her this morning. Turns out there isn’t anything I don’t know, she just had absolutely no recollection of how I helped her find and then visit the grave of her brother who died of spina bifida. She’s visiting her step mother, so couldn’t do her normal hysterionics when I called her out on it. I can guarantee she’s going to be a pain in the ass for them the rest of the day though.

Honestly, for a woman I can’t help but love she really is a manipulative cow bag.
