August 2017 babies!

Anyone else's naughty baby kicking downwards towards the cervix?? I swear to you the kicks propagate all the way down to...ahem...my "v"!!! Sorry girls if TMI, plzzz don't laugh! Ewwww I am NOT enjoying these kicks!!!

Yes, been feeling these too! Midwife said it was normal and probably them changing position/direction...AND that they are likely to become stronger!!! :-P

Awww just watched One Born Every Minute too on ch4+1 Rose!
Watched all OBEM episodes in my previous pregnancy too! Bringing back all those memories and getting excited and emotional too  :cloud9:

Started watching the old seasons on catch up. I wasn't sure whether to but decided to go for it in the end and in fairness, other than a few horrific realisations of the complications, it is actually quite informative and it is so lovely to see the family journeys and outcomes.x

So just been Googling on how to look after new borns (I'm sure it'll come naturally when she's here though right?) Anyway my mil is insisting on buying us a bumper pack thing for the cot, and ive just read that they're really dangerous, even though she said it's not, i feel like a dick if i turn around and say don't buy us one, and hubby is pissed off that I won't be using it! I said I will put it on when she comes round and take it out when after. :/ I'm sorry I don't wanna put my baby in danger.
Parenting advice changes all the time, and I bet when our kids are having kids everything will be different.

It is the string on them that is dangerous from what I understand - the ones w/o are ok?

One born used to make me cry all the time. Now I think I'm more horrified of the amount of pain I'll be in, hubby likes watching it now think he's preparing himself for it by watching it with me aha! He keeps saying he's not kissing her tho until she's been bathed cossa all the white stuff (doubt he'll be able to resist!).
Did your hubby cry when they came out? Mines not very emotions but I've made a bet with him that'll he will

Nice to read updates from you lovely lot.
Gorgeous bump Tasha
Glad you are feeling better spuds. Will you be consultant led because of the liver blood tests you had? Will be nice and reassuring to get extra scans.

Enjoy Edinburgh Jill. I love that city. Will be going myself in May for a wedding.

I'm also still struggling H4R. Soooo tired. Didn't help working this weekend though. I'm lying on the sofa after work feeling like I can't move. Part of it is that I've put on a lot of weight. I feel so heavy already and feel exhausted lugging myself round. :(

Xx

Hi, No I'm consultant led due to being an "OLDER" mother at 35! To be honest, it's been great so far as they seem to be a lot more informative than the midwife appts and the extra scans can't be a bad thing, right! ;-)

I think any are bad as can suffocate and get wrapped up in them. The NHS tells you not to use them now. They'll be better off with a bump than being trapped etc x

Hi Everyone. Looks like there has been a DIY surge - looking great ladies !
Still team yellow here but really interested in knowing what the Heart rates of your babies have been so far please? Just testing out the myth of gender v heart rate ! :-)

I fully expect my OH to get teary, he got a little bit damp when we heard the HB for the first time! He's very soppy (which you wouldn't assume at all looking at him!).

Just had my whooping cough jab :) are you ladies having it?

I had my whooping cough injection last month MissCharli, I hope yours doesn't ache as much as mine did afterwards! Love all the rooms, my OH has said we can't start ours yet but I can't wait! As for the tears when baby is born, he says he won't but I know he will :)

Spuds HB is 152 and having a girl.

Charli, I'm having it but I don't know how to get it? Not seeing midwife until 25 weeks... does have to be through her? X

PB - I just booked mine at the GP with the nurse, having it after my 24 week midwife appointment. Think it can be done up to 32 weeks or so

Spuds - heartbeat was142 at the last appointment and I'm having a boy x

Ok thanks. I'll just wait then until I see midwife and she can tell me what to do. Is there any other vaccines we need, or just the one?

We finally have a full name picked for her! I love it :) x

The MW mentioned it at my 16 week appointment, telling me I could book it any time after my anomaly scan and then I got a letter a couple of weeks ago from my GP reminding me to book it. I think it is usually done by the practice nurse rather than MW, but I guess as with everything it depends on yours! I think they recommend that you have it done by 32 weeks but they will give it all the way up until labour if you miss it. So you have loads of time :)

Exciting re the name! Are you keeping it a surprise?

I never got told what the actual rate was for the HB, but hearing it again Monday I hope at my MW appointment so will ask if they don't tell me :) I never bought a doppler so I haven't heard it since the 2 seconds she played at the anomaly scan!

Thanks! I have no idea what I'm doing, thank god for this site! My lidwife hasn't mentioned anything to me.

Her name is Scarlett Summer A... (don't wanna put my last name incase someone on here knows me aha!) X

Ahh I love the name Scarlett, fab choice :D We're keeping the name a surprise, though I don't know if that includes random online people haha! I'm not sure if I can not tell anyone for another 16 weeks :P

Everyone knows out babies name :P I can't keep things this exciting to myself  xx

Scarlett was one of my top picks for a girl until we decided on one we had never considered before but now I have to wait and hope I get the chance to use that in future. Still no boy name decided for us! X

Haha I think OH is worried that we will change our minds after he is born (I don't think I will... it was hard enough picking one name!). It's because OH was supposed to be a Jarred, but his mum looked at him when he was born and was like no, he's definitely a Samuel haha.

I guess I also don't want loads of judgement from people going their cousin/uncle/dog is called x and they are a little shit. I really don't care

But we have gone with Theodore :) I wanted just Theo, but the OH preferred it in full even if we only ever call him Theo :) Considering that was his second choice I decided I'd let him have that :P
