PeanutButter, it's unacceptable of them - again! And I couldn't agree more with Rose.
At my hospital, you have to wait after the scan for your notes to be updated and handed back to Reception, where you have to get them back from. So a midwife at Reception returns your notes to you and books your next scan/appointment for you before you go. If it wasn't done this way I wouldn't have a clue, I would just leave the scan room and the hospital like you did and think I'd have to wait for a letter with my next scan/app'nt date!
This is ridiculous that they get annoyed if you go for a private scan. A private scan saved my baby's life in my last pregnancy as I had a placental inefficiency which can even lead to stillbirth, which hadn't been detected during the normal NHS scans. As we only get ONE scan 'til 20/21 weeks! As I've mentioned before, NHS were indeed amazing afterwards monitoring the baby and operating on him after his birth - but I had to show them my results from that godsent private scan that revealed the problem! I am so sorry and furious that they are being rude to you ladies for having gone for private scans. These are OUR babies, OUR pregnancies, OUR lives, this is OUR RIGHT. Yes, to find out the gender if we like, check all is well with baby mainly, feel safe and happy and looked after xx
