August 2017 babies!

Hi ladies, I hope you don't mind of I slide in here a bit late? I'm due 7th September but may be induced early with high BP so baby could be August. Sorry I'm coming in very late, I know it's a bit cheeky

Hi kumber, no worries at all :) Half of us may well end up in September or July anyway!

Welcome Kumber.
Do you have high BP at the mo? Is this something you've had in past pregnancies?

I'm trying to quote your message Rose but i can't work out how?

Anyhow, i read about that bedside crib too. It was the bednest one that used to be advertised by the nct. A 7 week old baby asphyxiated on the divider. How awful for the family. I think they decided it was a design fault with the product and it's been changed now. So sad.

It really is sad. I had really wanted one but a friend gave me a swinging crib for free so I took that instead. I have it ready to pull out for this time.

I was told I probably won't get past 38 weeks this time due to all my issues last time, you aren't going to chuck me out because that will be July are you? Haha! I did say to hubby i couldn't believe it since his uni graduation is bang on 37 weeks so hoping I can get past that!! I have my GTT on Wednesday and I don't have much hope for it coming back negative.

Jill have you had GTT before? My dad is a type 2 diabetic so I automatically get tested although my BMI is high enough to warrant it alone now but I felt for sure I wouldn't escape without GD in pregnancy but I tested perfectly with both pregnancies so far. So don't give up hope! (I also eat far too many bad sweet things). I have my GTT this time in the middle of May.

I think I could end up being September unless I get really big and they induce me. Although they've given me a due date of the 26th I know it must be more like the 29th otherwise I would have conceived before I had sex lol. So if baby stays in for whole time plus even a little more then I'd be sept. Although both my children have been born at 40+1 so probably August if they follow that trend! X

Ha had GTT last time and high blood pressure and to top it all off to prove I was a broken machine by the end... Preclampsia!! I was in hospital over a week before I was induced so my total stay was a lovely 2 weeks. It was horrible for Si as he was working then coming up to see me so the poor man was drained. I ended up sending him home and telling him he is no good to me tired so don't bother coming back tomorrow

Yep, I've had high BP in both previous pregnancies so I'm under a consultant this time. I've got an appt to talk to my consultant next week after 20 week scan so I'll discuss it with them about being induced early

Just had a phone call from hosp they've changed my appointment again!!! Seriously pissing me off. How is hubby supposed to come to anything when he books time off for one day then it gets changed. He's gonna have no holiday left soon.

I would put a complaint in. This is happening too often to you!

He shouldn't be booking it off as holiday, he's entitled to unpaid leave to go to 2 antenatal appointments

Welcome kumber x

PB - I can't believe how much they have messed you around. I would contact PALs and I'm sure they will sort it out x

Kumber,
welcome  xx

PeanutButter,

Thanks ladies!

Has anyone else decided on names yet?

Kumber, if it's short notice he has to book it off, because he has to go to sites across the UK.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who can see how much I'm being pissed about, apparently the scan machine broke so had to go a different day (I'm sure they have more than one though! Ugh)

We have a name, still not sure on a middle name yet though. X

Ahh I'm with you, what a ball ache. Which hospital are you at now, is it one in Stoke?

Yay for a name, we are still debating options depending on gender. We find out next week hopefully

We have a name too- it's nice being able to refer to him with an actual name. X I just hope when we get scanned on Thursday he's still a he lol do you know if they ever get it wrong? X

I'm at stafford county now, much prefer russalls hall tho aha! Kumber what do you think s/he is?

Tash, yeah someone ikno was told a boy she was a girl!!! She found out at the 20 week scan though. I'm so worried that mine will be a boy nother a girl cos we've bought so much stuff, well if she is a boy he'll be very pink until he's 6 months aha! X

Oh isn't it nice having a name? We really like ours and I told my best mate and got the reaction I expected.... oh that's different.... haha I was never having a jack, James, Harry or whatever the top names are. Tashap they do get it wrong but I still find it hard to believe they can see a penis then not... but it happened to my friend a few weeks ago, she gave birth to a little girl who they were told was a boy and had been calling him Thomas... whoops. I was told by my doc there was 15% incorrect gender scans in the last 3 years. I find that extremely high and slightly unbelievable!! I wouldnt worry though, like I said I think it's very rare the boy being a girl!!

If yours is a boy and mines a girl maybe we can swap :-) I'm sure we won't be that unlucky x
