August 2017 babies! The final thread!

Hahaha yep misscharli. This weekend would be a total disaster as my OH's sister who will be looking after my two children is also away all weekend at a wedding. I've been sat here for a while with some period type pains and hoping that's not going to develop! X

Congratulations queenie, sorry he wasn't well, but glad to hear he's better and can come home!

Lol rose! He'll come this weekend now you don't want him to.
I've been getting horrible period pains all week to! But I do hope it means something ahhahaha.

Unsure if to go in with movement again :/ I don't know if she's just ran outta room now and only making small movements. X

PB absolutely go in - it's not true that they run out of room, the Kicks Count charity are battling to make people forget this was ever said. If my big baby has room to turn around then all babies have room to move - I still get periods of big movements. They'll be more uncomfortable for you but should definitely still be happening around the times she was active previously. My midwife keeps stressing that I absolutely must not feel stupid going in if I think movements are reduced. At this late stage there are all sorts of things that lack of movement could mean so keep going! X

I'm with Rose, definitely keep going in. You've got so far, there's no point in risking it now. Who cares how often you have to go in as long as she gets here safely x

Congratulations CoachQueenie! Its intriguing how different hopitals operate regarding reduced movement as you were induced after the 3rd time and when I was in on Saturday for reduced movements and they were happy for me to not be induced until 41 weeks+ :)

PB I hope that you have managed to get the hospital to list to you and that they do something for you! Dont worry about the size of your little girl they can never tell until they are born :)

Rose thats amazing news they have managed to turn him!! :D I hope you pain isnt too bad.

Misscharli I hope everything has been going alright the past few days enjoying the time even though you are probably sick of visitors now.

Update on me and little legs: I am still pregnant :( getting very sick now! After losing my plug on saturday night i have continued to lose it all week in smaller amounts until last night when there was a large amount again. I have been having back aches and period cramps all week and keeps getting worse to then completely stops again! I had another sweep on Wednesday gone and the midwife said i was 1.5cm dilated so I had dilated 0.5cm since the Saturday. Ive just been out for a long walk in hope it will start labour off but I dont feel positive about it starting.

Ah Rach that sounds rubbish, long time for stuff to be sort of happening but not really :( maybe you should try getting someone to drive you up and down some roads with bumps in them - I hear that's very effective and when I was in a bumpy car the other saying started getting braxton hicks. My friend's mum swears she went into labour after taking a bus journey and sitting at the back over the wheels as she had been told that works! Although it will feel rubbish to be so slow 1.5cm is still something! When I was induced with my son I was still tightly closed up! Have you been bouncing on a gym ball too? I've been doing it for at least an hour a day since they turned baby the right way round and now I feel like I'm doing too good a job because I feel very uncomfortable down there like I've got a head down there now! X

I think I might find the bumpiest roads and get my OH to drive over them in his mams classic mini! You feel every bump going in that thing lol! Ive been sitting on my ball all the time just trying to keep comfy. Thats fab news Rose :D fingers crossed things start soon for you!

Haha well I went over loads of speed bumps the night before Mr was born, so who knows maybe it works  I hope baby gets a shifty on soon!

Well I've had a curry tonight but seeing as I only like mild things I don't think that will make any difference. The night before I had my first baby I was suffering from constipation so took lactulose and that seemed to send things in the other direction and then my waters broke so I've always wondered if I actually caused it by taking that but the midwife had said it was fine to do so!

I think they really just come whenever they want to. Quite sure mine will stubbornly stay put until his due date, both of my two were born at 40+1 just after midnight so he probably just wants to wait and join the club. Alternatively they were born on the 19th and 20th of the month so maybe this one is aiming for the 18th or 21st to be neat and tidy lol X

I've also had a curry tonight lol after my walk this afternoon. All pains have stopped though so I think he won't come lol. You never know your little boy may come to make it neat and tidy lol! Atleast that would make him early for you also lol!

Congrats CoachQueenie, what a tough time you've had but so amazing he is now a new baby and he must have now made it home! How incredibly well you've done with feeding him, you should be so proud of yourself, super mamma xx

Sending love to all of you girls, PB, Rose, Elspeth, Rach and everyone else, I keep reading your updates and rooting for all of you and for all our babies to keep arriving safe and sound. Sending love to you too Prrrfect and MissCharli, I hope the visitors leave you alone now as time flies and you three need to cherish and enjoy the time you have together before OH goes back to work. Mine goes back on Monday and I am not looking forward to it :(

We are ok, almost caught up now, only 20gr left to reach his birth weight! Getting weighed again on Monday. But cannot be discharged yet as, despite his bloods having thankfully come back as normal, he still has a little bit of jaundice; his eye whites still have a tinge of yellow in the corners. So we are now a "prolonged jaundice" case that needs to be checked again on day28.

Hoping that on Monday he reaches/goes above his birth weight so that I can start dropping the top ups and work with him on my supply fingers crossed i'd love to be able to EBF. Feels like we haven't even been given a chance as was made to top up from day2, before even milk had come in. So I just know this must have seriously messed with my supply xx

H4R sounds like you are doing really well despite the jaundice! Hopefully he'll be fine soon X

So ladies that have lost their plug, was the first you were aware of it a big load of gloop or did you get any stringy bits of clear mucus beforehand? I might just be being hopefully here but had a few bits of clear snotty mucus just there and as I've never lost my plug before don't know if this is how it starts x

Good luck H4R, hope you can start EBF soon :) Sounds like he is doing well though now x

Well mine came out all in one go Rose as far as I remember, but I felt really damp and horrible down there beforehand (I even thought it might be my waters starting - it wasn't). But I think it's normal to lose bits of it as it regenerates anyway x

Think it must have been wishful thinking as it was only a tiny little string of stuff and had nothing else. Am still feeling quite period pain type feeling and I did a few jobs this evening that you might class as nesting and (tmi) but my body seems to keep wanting to go to the toilet like it is trying to clear out. But still got another 24 hours before it is convenient for him to arrive so better not do too much wishful thinking!

Hope everyone and their little ones are doing well xx

Rose mine was with period like pains and the first bit was quite large and like mucus then all of this week it has been smaller amounts until Friday where there was a really big amount like jelly. But it has been different colours sorry for tmi.

Nothing happening at all, think I will just be pregnant forever. I do have some period type aching still and Lowe back aching but my back is always aching now so nothing really new there. Have just realised that I think baby has been a bit quieter today but haven't been paying much attention so better watch that this afternoon x

My plug went gradually for at least a week but I think everyone is different, my waters then went very suddenly with a gush but I had no pains at that point, fingers crossed it's quite soon for everyone still waiting!

Little bit more clear jelly stuff just now so I'm thinking that it's maybe when I've done a fair bit of bouncing on my ball that some is maybe coming away. Feeling the urge to pee more often so I've maybe worked the head down a little bit more over the last couple of days. I have the midwife tomorrow so she'll be able to tell me if I've got anywhere with my bouncing! X

Congratulations Coachqueenie.
Wow, these August babies really like arriving early.

Trying my best to deal with being overdue. Am I the only one so far???
I was so happy and positive last week and now I feel so demoralised. I feel like I'll be pregnant forever.
What's more I've tried sooooo hard with fetal positioning this pregnancy. I haven't slouched or crossed my legs for 20weeks. I've done daily exercises etc etc. Baby has mostly been in LOA or LOT for the last 6 weeks or so. Now has switched to ROT and nothing I can do will shift him/her.
Feel so angry about it. My daughter was the same and preferred to lie on the right side. Must be something about me.
If anyone has any advice gladly received.... I'll be spending all evening on all fours.
Grrrrrr.

Aww Elspeth I know how you feel, I know I've still got two weeks to go but I feel like I'll be pregnant forever too. I'm in so much pain and so fed up being housebound with two bored toddlers. Both of them were born at 40+1 so I don't really think he'll come early as my body seems to like to hang on to them. Do you have a sweep booked or anything? X
