Any February mummies-to-be here? :D

I swear my boobs have doubled in weight although they don't seem to be much bigger thank goodness because they were pretty big to start with!! Do I need to be wearing a bra at night do you think??

Tesco do a hidden support vest for £4 that is so comfortable to sleep in. I tried a bra but felt restricted. My boobs were big to begin with but they're so incredibly heavy now!

No but I took some pics with my phone. I can't upload them for some reason though :-(

The boob thing! When I was pregnant with my son, I bought a sports bra. Just like a soft one that is supported by elastic. I wore it to bed every night and also lived and died in it while I was breast feeding since it was so nice and soft on my sore, swollen boobies. It's comfy for bed too and not at all retstrictive :)

XxX

hey ladies, haven't been on here for a while as one of my best mates has been diagnosed with breast cancer and i've been really busy taking her to docs appointments... which has been really difficult as i haven't told her my news! didn't think it was the right time with everything she's got going on.

how did your booking appointment go pumpkin? mine was great, except for the fact that my morning sickness started 15 mins before i was meant to go to the appointment! i've only been sick a few times since but have been fealing queasy most mornings. i've also had my scan date through, 29th july. can't wait!

hows everyone else? xx

I've got a no wire bra from toys r us in the baby section. It was more than £4 but I can't remember how much now as I got it last year. It's really comfy to sleep in but is still supportive!

Jobym- booking appointment went great. Lots of useful
Info, took my blood so just waiting to see if they contact me for anaemia or anything, wouldn't be surprised as I've been anaemic before but I am taking iron. Your dating scan is on the same day as mine! Had to go out and by two maternity bras on Thursday my boobs are killing me now and I've gone up a back size so I don't feel as crushed! Hope everything goes well with your friend and that she gets the right treatment and beats it.

Well the snacking continues! Think I've put 4lbs on it about 2 1/2 weeks which is not ideal!! Starting to get a right podge on. Bit worried as my stomach pre-pregnancy was as flat as a pancake whereas now it's noticeably fuller.

Think I need to try and control myself abit better and avoid fatty snacks!

I woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep so ended up having a 4am bowl of cornflakes while the oh slept. Very random!!

Haha I'm the same, can't stop eating and tummy definitely looks and feels big!

We saw the midwife this morning for the first time and it's started to feel real now! The scan is in 2 weeks and I'm really nervous about the tests for Down Syndrome.
Does anyone know what percentage of people opt for the second, more invasive test if the results come back as 'high risk'? Its such a difficult decision! We weren't going to discuss until we had to but the midwife has advised it's better to know our decision beforehand so that it's a non-emotive discussion...makes sense I suppose.

I'm a February mummy to be! Should be due on 21st February. Glad I've got loads of you alongside!

I haven't been on here for a while as I was off work last week with a terrible migraine. Really down at the moment too and just wanna shut myself away and cry. It's so hard to be positive when you feel like this!

Hope you're all healthy and well :)

Sophie xx

Hi all. Found out day after my 41st birthday I was preg. Came as a complete shock as we have been trying for last 5 years had one mmc at 11 weeks 3 years ago and then found that we had a less than 3% chance of conceiving naturally. But here I am with no help lol!! I'm overweight, over age, pcos and turned down for ivf so this is last chance saloon etc. I'm so worried that I will have another mmc as I have virtually no symptoms. Had scan at 7 weeks and saw little bean with heartbeat, but was backdated. Was due feb 14, now it's the 23rd. Have my midwife visit tomorrow, so I think I'll ask her to do some bloods to see if things are going ok as I'm panicking:wall2: hope to stay with u all here and look forward to everyone's progress updates x

I'm feeling exactly the same about it. I've got my scan at end if July but its really weighing on my mind. From what my mw has told me they offer two follow up tests in my area if they find you to be high risk. You can pick between the two. The first one is Chorionic villus sampling and uses a needle to take a sample of the placenta which can be completed pretty much straight away although I'll need an appointment at a hospital in Cambridge for that. She said 1 to 2% chance of miscarriage with that. The other test is amniocentesis which uses a needle to sample the amniotic fluid, there is a 1% chance of miscarriage for that but it can't be completed until about 16 weeks.

I've read it's a good idea to get individual hospital stats for these procedures as hospitals/dr's can vary from the national average.

I don't know how many people opt for it but I've decided that I will have the first one if needed so I can have it early on and be aware of the situation. It sounds selfish but I'm not sure I could cope with a downs baby.

Hi I've been looking into the Harmony test (only available in London I think) but they take your blood and send it to America for testing as they can find your babies cells in that and test for downs etc. it's 99% accurate. They also give you a detailed scan and u then get your risk calculated. I will speak to midwife about it tomorrow. If I get to 12 months I'm not gonna risk a big needle in belly, not now its taken me this long to get bfp!! I think it's about £600 so may not be an option for some. Look it up and see what u think xx

I read about that but didn't realise it cost so much... I suppose the first thing will be to get the first test done.

I'm a little torn to be honest because, whereas I would probably opt to keep the baby if he/she had DS, I don't think my husband would cope well at all. I don't want to guilt him into agreeing to go ahead with the pregnancy, but also don't want to resent him later on... My husband is wonderful and extremely loving, but he's only just about coping with the knowledge that he's going to be a dad, let alone to a child with special needs.

I can't stand the idea of aborting a child that could have a good life though...

I think I'm the other way around. Think my hubby would cope much better than I would. Think we are both agreed on not having amino or cvs, so hopefully this Harmony Test is going to be feasible. I did read that others had it done cheaper, however, I think they had to fall into a certain criteria I.e set of weeks and it was still in early stages and they wanted volunteers. Its such a worrying time Hun. When we finally get to the 12 weeks we are then faced with this next hurdle :wall2:

The other problem I have is that the second test poses a threat to healthy babies. If we were carrying a healthy child and lost it because of an optional test I'm not sure I'd ever forgive myself...
I think I'm going to look into the Harmony option. It's a ridiculous choice to have to make!

My point exactly, why risk it if there's an alternative, I know it's a considered amount, but gotta be worth it. Let me know what u go for. Good luck deciding x
