Any February mummies-to-be here? :D

I had the Nuchal Translucency test done with Harri, it came back very borderline (like only 50 odd points away from being not ok), but he's perfect! Even if it had come back high risk, I think I would have left the second test. I think the first test is kind of like a heads up for things that could possibly be wrong so you can prepare, but I'd rather not know for definite because I wouldn't want that knowledge to affect my decision. Not that I think I would have done anything about it if he HAD been DS, but it's a stressful situation. Also, I couldn't risk putting him at risk of losing him. I'd never be able to live with myself.

I'm having the NT test again with this baby, but again I wouldn't opt for the second tst even if needed.

I've spent a lot of time thinking about it - fingers crossed the nuchal test and bloods will Come back low risk but if they don't I will be having the cvs test. If the worst happened I know I could live with myself because the other option would not be feasible for me (ds baby) I am mentally not able to deal with that. I know it's difficult to say until your in that situation but I've always been very clear in my own mind that I know it's just not an option for either of us.

On a lighter note I've just had to buy bigger knickers!! Oh is loving this non sexy lingerie now! Mat bra and big pants is always a winner

On the subject of DS. Me and t o/h have decided not to get the tests into it. I work with d/s and know many people with d/s children who admit its no walk in the park, but say that it's not as hard as it used to be. Their quality of life can be very good and Personally we wouldn't chose not to have it just because it had a learning disability. After all, a birth detect could cause that anyway (rare, but it does happen) and then you couldn't make the call.

I'm hoping I never get to the 2nd test tbh. Don't know why I'm thinking about it so much. There's a very good chance that our baby with have diabetes as my oh has type 1 and it runs through his family. His dad and grandmother both have type 2 and one of his cousins had type 1 from birth.

Hi!

Hope you don't mind me popping in!

I'm Laura, I'm 29 (30 this year eek) and I'm due baby #5 on the 8th Feb according to my last LMP!

This will be my last baby so trying to enjoy it as much as possible seeing I'll never get to do it again. Hard atm though as I am absolutely exhausted 24/7!!!

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to getting to know you all :)

Hi Laura, welcome to tri 1

I'm definitely going to be asking you for your knowledge!! Know how you feel about being exhausted. I got home last night, fell asleep on the sofa at 9pm, work up at 1am, went to bed and woke up again at 10am!

Hey Pumpkin! Thank you :)

Could sleep all day and night and STILL be tired I think lol. I'm lucky to be getting about 6 hours a night atm as my 8 month old dislikes sleep - definitely doesn't take after his mummy ;)

Wow LauraClare = you're superwoman! Haha.

I'm pregnant with baby #1 and I'm exhausted 24/7, but all I have to do is work full time and look after my husband and 2 dogs. How do you do it??!!

I will also be asking you for knowledge haha. :D

Hope you're doing well.

Haha, ty Country.

TBH I'm on auto-pilot atm, and I have an amazing OH - except when he is nagging me to not eat this and eat plenty of that ;)
Working FT is hard when pregnant too! This is the 1st pregnancy I haven't had to as I gave up work after my LO was born 8months ago as it was just too stressful (worked FT from home - with no maternity leave) Not being able to leave your comp for longer than 5mins with a screaming newborn was not fun :D

So what's everyone thinking of this heat!! I'm loving it - though not when I'm walking the school run, it's not a pretty sight - I go bright red! haha.

Hi superwoman (lauraclare) lol

This heat is a killer, mustn't complain tho as we have not had it this good for years! But it has brought me out in a nice prickly heat rash. Very itchy:mad: just glad I won't be like the back end of a house in the middle of summer, due Feb thankfully lol x

To change the subject entirely, is anyone else suffering from piles? I've never had them before but atm I'm bleeding every time I go to the toilet and it's pretty painful. I know it's a common side-effect of pregnancy but eeeuww!!!

Yep, I have them again. I got them towards the end of my pregnancy with my son, but they e come back early this time >.<

No piles here!

I need to get some constipation meds though! 3rd day with no poo!

Can't believe your leaving aus! Can we do a swop please

Help yourself Mummbexee, it's beautiful here but there are a lot of downsides too. It's certainly not the perfect paradise it's portrayed to be - real life gets in the way! Anyway it's winter and I feel like I've been cold to my bones for about the last 3 weeks solid so I'm looking forward to this heatwave you guys have been experiencing!!

Thanks LauraClare - it is hard working FT as I'm just so shattered and sick. I've had to tell quite a few people here as I was off all last week and have been feeling rough, but I'm not that bothered.

No piles here Sara, but I have got loads of big yellow spots under my armpits :( think this is due to hormones plus the heat (sweat etc). Horrid.

Hope everything going well with your moving plans!

Sophie xx
