_•~•*XoXoX*•~•_ JULY 2015 Mummies-To-Be _•~•*XoXoX*•~•_

I was hoping for a scan before xmas but I'm 12 weeks on 23rd so knew it would be unlikely. It's looking like week between xmas and new year. Still just over 3 weeks away, not too long, eeek!

That's awful about the ivf, it must be heartbreaking going through so much to try and conceive.
After my mc the doc said at least we knew we could conceive as a couple which is often the biggest hurdle people face. I'm definitely thankful that we got pregnant so quickly both times.x

Oh I also had to do a urine sample and next appointment with her I also have to take one its to check for protein.

Hi everyone,

I was at the fertility centre yesterday for work as I'll be taking on an infertility study soon and I got to see the ICSI/IVF process, it was incredible. Saw the woman in theatre, the embryologists looking throught the fluid for eggs, sperm moving around under the microscope and then I saw the ICSI procedure firsthand. The embryologist injected the sperm straight into the egg (they only managed to collect one from the lady so they literally had one chance) and it was just devastating, the egg just died almost instantly. That poor couple will have a phone call today explaining that their one and only ICSI attempt on the NHS has failed already. Both of them have fertility issues so it's highly unlikely they will have a biological child together, it's just so sad.

I'm already so thankful and appreciative that my OH and I were lucky enough to conceive naturally and quickly but it definitely made me realise just how fortunate we've been xx

Both my babies have been surprises, both with contraception.

They're very VERY much wanted and loved, but I do feel guilty sometimes seeing the effort people put in to have one little baby of their own... That's just you ladies that have been actively TTC with charts and temperatures and all that hard work. Something like the story above just breaks my heart for those poor poor desperately-trying-to-be parents.

That's really sad KWarbee. Wish people didn't have to go through such heartache. My twin cousins were born via IVF and my auntie always talks about how difficult the process was. Makes me feel very lucky.

I'm having similar issues to you firsttimemum! Went for my first appointment with the GP today which was all fine. He gave me a flu jab and my maternity pack and told me to contact the community midwives to arrange a booking in appointment. But when I rang the receptionist said there aren't any available appointments until January. By which point I'll be over 12 weeks. The GP said that the midwife will organise my scan date after the booking appointment so I'd be late for the scan which doesn't seem right?! Have asked for a midwife to call me so we'll see how that goes.

Hope you're all feeling OK today. Thinking of you today Bridger xxxx

In my booking in forms there was a box to fill out if you were being booked in late and it classed late as either 14/16 weeks, I forgot which. So maybe 12 isn't seen as especially late? I can imagine it must be really frustrating though.

Positive thoughts to Bridger today.x

Ahh, I've just gone to my freezer and the door was slightly ajar. Must have been like that all night.
Am I safe to eat stuff still?

Check any meat is still frozen solid. I'd bin any fish, not even worth risking fish for anyone, never mind being pregnant.

Veg/ice cream/ milk should be fine.

Afternoon Ladies,

I had my booking in appointment this morning and the midwife couldn't have been nicer she totally put OH & I at ease - she went through all our medical history, did weight, height, blood pressure, took a urine sample went through the green book and gave me some more folic acid with vit d & c in, gave me my exemption form to get stamped and loads of info on the hospital and stuff. She also said when I go see her again at 16 weeks she will listen for the babies heartbeat and said if OH can't come with me she'll make sure I record it on my phone which I thought was sweet. She struggled to get blood from me so I have to go back tomorrow to get it done but that didn't bother me I've had that problem before.

All in all I had a lovely booking in appointment - sorry that some of you haven't had the same. She did say I may struggle to get a scan before xmas with me being 12 weeks xmas week but she said it'll probably be before new year which I am happy with.

We have our private scan on Sunday anyway so hopefully that will help ease our minds before the 12 one.

xx

Boosh, your appointment sounds exactly like mine. My midwife said about recording heartbeat on phone if OH couldn't make it too. He'll be there but I'm going to record it anyway now I know about doing it.

Jealous of your early scan. Hope it goes well.x

Fingers crossed shell do everything next week then. She messaged me earlier and said shed call tomorrow about booking me in for a home appt. But shes unlikely to do bloods at home isnt she? Im just worried lots are going to be missed out and we might overlook something :(
Panic mode again.
Anyway today i had alot nausea this morning but by lunch that had gone. I dont feel.very pg this afternoon. Apart from bloating that i cant suck in my cramps have died down.
I am off to tgi fridays tonight - so excited love that place!!!! And had a little.melt down earlier thinking that i couldnt eat mozzarella sticks but after trawlling the internet all day its safe :) so excited again! Hahahah

Will the scan picture be your way of announcing the pregnancy or do the recipients already know?

No noone.knows so our parents and babys godparents will get one. Have a lush poem to go with it too xxxxx

That's so lovely.
I was hoping to maybe be able to do that for OH's parents as they don't know yet. May still just do it a couple of days late.
