_•~•*XoXoX*•~•_ JULY 2015 Mummies-To-Be _•~•*XoXoX*•~•_

Welcome to Lola and Kaylip. Congratulations :)

I had my first midwife appointment this afternoon. She was half an hour late, which according to some of the ladies waiting....that's nothing lol! Brief 10 minute appointment to say hello, weight, height and blood pressures she's going to arrange a home visit probably next week for the proper booking appointment!

Still no symptoms to speak off.....if I could just have some nausea for reassurance I promise I wouldn't complain! Shortly after my appointment this afternoon I also noticed some very light brown discharge. Along with my lack of symptoms this has got me really worried. Anyone else have any brown discharge at about 6 weeks? Tri 1 is so stressful :(

Birthing centres sound good, thanks for all the info. That all seems like another world away at the moment but I bet towards the end we'll all be saying how quickly it's gone!

That's exciting that you've had your first appointment Bridger, must make it seem more real :-) I haven't had any discharge yet but I'm sure I've read elsewhere that it is really common and totally normal at this stage, especially if you don't have any other symptoms. You could maybe give your midwife a call if you're worried though?

I can't sleep as woke up with the bad cramps again. So strange for me because we always joke that I literally never have issues sleeping- I can usually sleep anytime anywhere! Got a hot water bottle now though which is helpful, think its going to be my new best friend :-) xx

Arghhhh!! Can't sleep. Driving me mad. Millie a friend of mine had a home birth for her first baby and really enjoyed the experience. She would recommend it to anyone,so just because it's your first doesn't mean that it can't be an option!! I definitely want a water birth,I think I'd be so much more comfortable. OH and I talked about the actual birth last night he said he's gonna be worried about me being in pain, but I really haven't thought about it that way. Mainly because I know at that point that we'll then get to meet our baby!!! I can't wait! Not wanting to wish my life away, but July can't come soon enough. Ordinarily I wouldn't be saying that as I'll also be turning 30,but I can't wait!! We've talked about getting married and we've decided we're either gonna do it really small or we'll wait until 2016! We want to buy a house first and would rather spend our money on the long investment then save up again for our wedding!! Just need to find a suitable family home!! Love house hunting!!x

If you're in a position to buy a home, I'd do that.

Gonna get on a soapbox for a sec...

If you're together, you're together, y'know? Getting married doesn't need to be a rush if you're both comfortable in the knowledge that it's in your future.
A house is not an everyday-available opportunity.
Just my opinion.

Like I said, I'm a huge pain-wuss, but I knew I REALLY didn't want an epidural unless I HAD too.
For those worried about the pain, I strongly recommend googling Pethadine. You'll get stories of it making the baby drowsy, which is the downside (my son seemed fine and didn't appear "drowsy" at all), but it's a LOAD better than an epi.

Bridger... My birth story is on the first/second maybe third page of this thread.
The short version is: I had zero symptoms the entire way through.
Believe me, count yourself lucky.
I've had very few symptoms again this time round. Certainly nothing compared to what some of these guys have experienced. I did have a bleed a couple weeks back, and ended up with an early scan. Even with a fairly "period-y" bleed and some cramping... Baby's sticking in just fine.
Try not to worry hon xx

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all feeling well this morning.

Lola, try not to worry too much about your cramps. I had daily period-type cramps until recently and some were quite intense but baby is absolutely fine. If you're worried speak to your GP about it but it's completely normal :)

Bridger, I've not had any bleeding myself (I had the panic of suspected ectopic and irregular gestational sac at 6 weeks!) but I know plently of women on here have had bleeding/spotting/brown discharge so I think it's quite common. My sister had heavy bleeding and went on to have a healthy baby. As long as the bleeding isn't too heavy and there's no associated pain then everything should be fine.

I'm feeling so tired again today. I keep falling asleep every single night at about 9pm. I used to be such a night owl! Got my midwife appointment today which is exciting, I'm looking forward to it.

My birth plan - Hospital, as natural as possible. That's it really. I'm not making any plans for pain relief as I know every single plan can go out the window. I've heard midwives say they dread seeing a really detailed birth plan as more often than not it apparently goes completely differently.

xx

Your not alone Claire2602 :) I feel like crap today too! Hope you are feeling better soon. Question for you all, did any of you get morning sickness as early as 5 weeks, as im not sure if im just ill as im full of cold too? Xx

My worst sickness so far was between 5-6 weeks. I was physically sick a few times and felt so ill. Weirdly my nausea has lessened quite a lot now I'm 7 weeks. Scared me but scan told us baby was fine! xx

My sickness has got worse if anything lol was okay around 5 weeks but now 9 weeks today and feel shoking!
Hope everyones okay :) xxx

Sorry you're not feeling well Claire, Kaylip & Millie. Hope you get some relief from it soon.

How did your midwife appointment go KWarbee? Xx

So i just went to pharmacist for gel for BVand they domt have it in so got to wait till tomorrow morn. Also cant take anything for my suspected water imfection apparently..Sooooo annoyed! im so itchy and burny down there! x

Lola, it went well, thank you for asking! The midwife was lovely but she was so ditzy, bless her. She messed up my bloods (had to be prodded twice and she couldn't seem to do it properly!), she kept losing leaflets, couldn't work out my EDD date without my help and almost chucked away my urine sample! She kept talking loads about her own cervix and how it is like that of a virgins. My poor OH!! We were there ages, over an hour! I'm potentially 'high risk' because one of my sisters has had a DVT and one has had high blood pressure and pre-eclampsia. So, I might have to see a consultant and take aspirin. I'm not too worried though, the midwife didn't seem concerned about that. She said my 12 week scan could be between 11-14 weeks and my date should come through soon. Fingers crossed it's closer to 11 weeks than 14!

Hope those of you who are feeling poorly feel much better soon.

Millie, make sure to drink plenty of water. If they confirm it's a UTI will they prescribe you antibiotics?? xx

Aw bless her haha sounds like me haha I can be ditzy :L
glad it all went well for you. So excited for mine!
fingers crossed your scan is closer to 11 weeks :D xxx

Haha, as if she was chattering about her cervix!

Glad everything went we for you.x

Thanks girls.

 I know!! My OH was like 'I don't mind hearing about your cervix but did she really have to talk about hers?'. Poor guy knows too much!

Hope both your appointments go well too, when are they booked for? xx

Haha thats so funny!
My OH cant make it as he has to work as so busy before christmas . I told him be okay though as we filled in the form together already so he womt miss much :)
mines next thursday xxx

Ooh I think I remember you saying it was next week. Not too long at all, hope the time flies for you!

My OH said he did get a bit sleepy sat there, it wasn't the most exciting and I don't think any OH would miss anything critical/sentimental. It's nice for them to be there but I don't think it matters too much at that appointment. It's the scans they always need to try and be there for :) xx

Yeah :) he wanted to come but I said Id rather he kept in works good books as is probably the least important appt for him to be there lol? would want him there for all the ones where we listen to HB amd then scans obviously :) xxx

Glad all went okay kwarbee! My booking appt is on tues day - cant wait. Have had really really bad pains today :( xxxx

My appointment is Wednesday, just been to pick up my maternity record and need to go through filling in alll the bits I can, exciting Friday night :)

Claire, have you spoken to anyone about your pains? Hope they ease off.x
