Ttc shit boat - long term ttcers

Emily hope you are nearing ov now, fingers crossed for you.

Ragdoll congratulations on your new job, is it something similar from your last job or have you gone for a change?

PrincessP sorry to hear about af. No harm in making an appointment, hopefully you will be able to cancel it with a bfp this cycle.

So I have news, I've been accepted onto the TABLET trial, for people who either struggle to conceive or have had recurrent mc, I fall into both of those categories. I've got an appointment in a couple of weeks to go through all the details and if I decide to take part I also get my prescription of either the trial drug or the placebo. I have mixed feelings about this, obviously it is bad news that I fulfil the criteria as it means my mc risk is now even higher than I previously thought as now I have these antibodies to contend with as well as pcos. It would be nice if I got the trial drug and it worked though! In other news I'm still waiting for af, I'm unsure if I ovd, if I did I think I could be 10dpo ish. If af doesn't arrive by the weekend I've got to get a bleed induced so I can start on the clomid.

CD11 and I got my positive opk this afternoon so it's all systems go. We dtd CD9, failed attempt last night and don't know how successful we'll be tonight as hubby was up at 5 to go to work and I'm out until gone 10, so he's likely to be knackered by the time I get home. Fingers crossed though.

Ooh the trial sounds interesting. Really hope it's successful for you.

Hello long termers, how is everyone at the moment?

I've been browsing baby clothes today, I really don't know why as I can't decide if it makes me feel good or bad. Anyone else browse baby stuff? We also have a list of names, although it isn't very long as we really don't seem to like many and those we like individually we can't seem to agree on ha. At least ttc this long has given us plenty of time to see if we really do like a name or if it is just a bit of a fad!

I have always browsed baby clothes, I just find it all so cute! I used to enter competitions and entered everything and anything. I got rid of most of the baby stuff I won but I won a voucher for this baby clothes shop I fell in love with. I had to buy the stuff soon after. It is gender-neutral and I could have given it to any number of babies I know... But I have been determined to save it for ours. It is still in my wardrobe, hoping...

Snowbee - it's fantastic you've got on the trial! I really hope you get the new drug and it works.

Princess - so sorry the witch got you. You will get your take-home baby though.

I also have news. I have started IVF now and I had my first scan and they told me my ovaries looked 'normal' and NOT polycystic! Amazing stuff! This AF has been much lighter, shorter and with no cramps. Guess this is what it's like to be a normal woman!

I also went to see my acupuncturist yesterday. It was soooo relaxing. She gave me dietary advice too. I had to wait for DH afterwards and she showed me a catalogue that one place do for embryo donors, with pictures of them as children as well as details of their personality, education etc. I shouldn't need that but it was interesting!

Phonix great news about your ivf and ovaries being normal - woo! My afs are always light and short, pcos acting in yet another different way!

Princesspeanut- definitely make an appointment, better to have one and then not need it .

Snowbee- Thank you ! It's the same field of work but whereas in my current company I work 10 hour shifts and finish between 8pm-11pm my new job will finish at 5.30pm , I moved because as you can imagine the late nights and long hours take a physical toll and when I start IVF I need to be as relaxed as possible ! So pleased you've got the trial and hope it goes well ! Fingers crossed !

Phonixgirl- glad things are moving forward , is that the first step then being invited for a scan? Or did you have to have a chat first then go back for a scan? I'm interested to know as then I can prepare myself for timescales etc ! The not knowing is the worst thing !

I had an info session where I was told all about what would happen then told to call up on the first day of my period to book a scan. So I arranged a scan for CD2 and that was the start (although I had chosen to have an endometrial scratch before this). X

Hello long termers. How is everyone getting on?

We have another appointment for our mc trial this week, sort of looking forward to it and hoping we get the actual drug and not the placebo.

I'm a bit disappointed that I've had no signs I did actually ov after all the ov pains I got last week, usually I get quite sore breasts if I do actually manage to kick that egg out. I've now got to decide how long to wait before getting a bleed induced so we can start again.

Hi Snowbee. I really hope you did ovulate. The pains are a good sign though.

I am having egg collection on Weds xx

I'm back in the shitboat after a bit of hope. Heard today that none of our embryos were normal so nothing to transfer. That was probably the issue all along.

so, being nosey, I have taken a look through the whole of this thread and had a nosey at everyone's profile! What is nice is how many people who posted at the beginning are now pregnant or have babies, which gives me hope x Baby dust to all those still posting!

So I started my trial medication today. Hoping I have the real thing and not the placebo but I won't get to find out for a couple of years when the study is over which I have! The lady said the trial is closing in December, so if any of you are interested then get yourselves signed up asap. You need to be between 16-40 and either have had one or more mc or infertility and then a blood test will tell you if you are eligible or not.

Sorry BLueflower I missed this when I posted before. You can only keep trying and moving forward. Hope hubby's is looking after you. X

Yes he is thank you, so is my new cat! Still feeling numb about it but we will make a plan when its less raw.
What sort of medication is it Snowbee?

Blueflower, I thought I may have to go down an alternative route. My acupuncturist show me a booklet from a clinic that showcased all the egg donors for you to choose from. They had photos of the donors as children as well as listing their interests, hobbies, education, job, any children etc. I found it intriguing and would happily donate (if they let me) as well as using a donor if need be.

You will get your little one somehow. X

Where is that? At my clinic you have to wait for someone having ivf willing to share their eggs who looks a bit like you! And it can't be anyone with fertility issues so that narrows it down a lot! We have been on the waiting list since April!

What a pain! I think it was somewhere in Cambridge (she had just been to the Fertility Show in London).

Women aren't generally going to be having IVF if they don't have fertility issues - you could be waiting years! Obviously there are some couples with male issues but I would've thought female issues are far more common.

Blueflower at the clinic I went to if doing egg sharing there is no waiting list. Quite a few people do the egg sharing programme to share and recieve. Apparently usually lesbian couples go for the egg sharing as works out similar to iui costs but higher chance and as they have sperm donated they pay for that and then get the cheaper ivf for then sharing their eggs. If that makes sense! And they have no fertility issues or anything Xx
