Ttc shit boat - long term ttcers

Sugar, the pressure is awful isn't it when you feel like it is all down to you. Hopefully we can get our bfps very soon.

stace long time no see, fingers crossed for you this cycle. It is about time we had a mass exit from this shitty place.

phonix it really doesn't surprise me they didn't tell you, I've found that while some people are really good at keeping you informed others are horrendous. Good luck with the weight gain, I'll send you some of mine if you like (if only that were possible haha).

Emily best of luck with month 17.

I'm 14dpo. No bleeding yet but I had cramps last night and today my temp has dropped right down so I'm certainly out. I think I may be giving here a miss for a few days. I'm struggling so much at the moment and I don't know what to do.

How is everyone on the shit boat?

I'm now on cycle 4 of clomid. Not ovd yet but should be soon.

I've found a new way of coping with the endless disappointment and sadness a negative cycle brings. It isn't to everyone's taste but is working for me at the moment. I decided a few cycles back that every time AF arrived I would buy a small baby item, like a baby grow. I gave myself conditions, it has to be super cool and funky (and obviously unisex), in any random size I choose, so not the same size each time and preferably in the sales! I don't believe in jinxing things (it's been 4 years and two mcs, I think I must be already jinxed if you want to think that way). This way I can get a cute selection of things and spread the cost. I'm quite enjoying browsing for crap, making a short list then choosing the item.

If I never have a take home baby I will eventually have to make the decision to donate it all to a charity and I think that may help with closure, if that is how it ends.

That's a nice idea Snowbee. You have to do whatever works for you at the end of the day and think how good it will feel when you finally have a little one to put in all those clothes!

Good idea Snowbee! I did a FRER yesterday and I think there was a line. Slight and faint but I think it's there. Did one this morning and still faint but still think it's there.

omg sugar I hope it is that bfp you have been waiting for! So excited for you :)

I thought it was but then had a bit of brown CM so think it isn't going to end well x

Ah no, I'm sorry Snowbee :-(

I was also told to put on weight. She said forget the diet and get fat. I'm conscious about my PCOS though and don't want to aggrevate it. I guess I will relax more and try to put on weight but still avoid refined sugars.

That's interesting that you were told to put on weight, is that because you are underweight? I'm trying to eat more healthily which might result in weight loss (I'm not overweight) but wondering if this matters? X

DH & I had an argument last night about where to go for a drink/food! There aren't many places in walking distance but we assumed I'd be pregnant when we moved here 4 years ago so would drive places and then when we had kids going out would be a treat! But no here we still are and DH is bored with the choices! He wanted us to walk to somewhere an hour away and I refused as I wanted to wear nice shoes rather than flat comfy ones for a night out and he got upset! All very silly!

Awww Blueflower :-( we thought we'd have a child by now too and be taking them out places... but no!

Snowbee, I like your idea of buying things :-) that's such a lovely idea.

Sugarpop - I hope you haven't had any more spotting and that I can say congratulations?! It did happen!

Miss Juliet - yes, I was underweight. Happy to report that after eating anything and everything (healthy eating kind of went out the window) I am now within the 'healthy' BMI range. Would still like to put on a little more if I could. DH is adamant this is the reason my hormones are messed up. X

Sugar I hope you aren't out. Let us know how you are.

Blueflower I know what you mean. It is our 5th wedding ani this year and I remember on our honeymoon discussing how we planned to return for the 5th ani and if we could do it with a child or two! Wishful thinking. Now we aren't even going as we decided to save the money in case we have to go down the ivf route this year instead. Gosh it sucks doesn't it.

Phonix hope you are doing ok, are you on a frozen cycle at the moment?

I'm CD19, going to guess at oving on late CD17/early CD18 as I had a bit of pain and it had all vanished by yesterday afternoon. This is cycle 4 of clomid.

Oh I do hope you don't have to use the money on IVF. We keep thinking every holiday will be our last for a while but then we get another one!.

Yes I am doing a frozen cycle at the moment. I down-regulated at the end of last cycle and have a scan on Wednesday to see what my lining is like. Then we can probably book a transfer date. Seems to take forever but I'm really not over-thinking things or expecting anything (although I am hopeful).

With regards to the weight, apparently if you don't have enough body fat then it can affect ovulation and also reduces your chances of ivf being successful - even in donor cycles. The theory behind this is that your embryo thinks your uterus is not at its healthiest to implant (going back years, when it was good to be fat as it was a sign of nutrition - if you don't have enough fat then you might not have enough nutrients). I guess it kind of makes sense and maybe DH is right in a way (I think there's more to it). They say aim for your ideal weight, but for me that's 9 stone which is virtually impossible.

Best keep piling on the pounds and be as heavy as I can.

Aw poopers sugar I'm sorry :(

Phonix I wish I could send you some of my weight haha, wouldn't that make like easy. I'm back on the diet as I've put weight on with the clomid.

Oh no Sugarpop. :hugs:

When I want my mum to put on weight I secretly put butter on her pasta and rice! I used to have a boyfriend who said he wanted to put on weight but would leave the pastry from the quiche I gave him which seemed really silly!

Oh I'm sorry Sugarpop :-(

I have been buying Kerrygold butter and having loads of it on whatever I can (apparently that's better for you than marg anyway). I've been eating pretty much all day and anything and everything! I guess it's worked... just hope I get pregnant from it now. X

Just thought I would say hello fellow long-termers. My story is a bit strange but basically when we got married in May 2011 I came off the pill.....since then I didn't have any periods for the first 3 years.....had tests and doc said weight related (balls as I've been heavier than this and had regular 28 day cycle since being 9yrs old!)....anyway after much arguing they decided I had developed PCOS (again didn't realise this could happen but am told so). Having done a lot of research a number of women had fertility issues after being in the pill I was on long-term. I wasn't eligible for medicated help as you have to have the potential to go for IVF and until I'm at my BMI (which is never going to happen....I've never been at my BMI in my whole life!) I can't have NHS Meds. Almost 5 years since stopping pill and I'm pleased to say that my cycle is returning to normal.....since January I have had regular af....yay! We can now seriously start ttc'ing. We are going to try for next 18months and I'm frantically still trying to get to BMI.....failing that we are going to consider private Treatment or adoption. Had a bit of roller coaster this last month as I felt so different symptoms were horrendous and very much reflective
of bfp not af and was convinced I was pg but af showed up 9 days early! Had a short one of 3 days this time too. So I'm gutted but thanking my lucky stars that things are getting back to normal. Thanks for reading my ramblings and I'm sending you all baby dust x

Hi Jazz! Sounds so stressful. Which pill were you on? Hope the cycles continue to regulate and you don't have to wait too long for that elusive BFP. :)

Hi Jazz, welcome to the thread, I hope your stay is a short one and that you get your bfp very soon. I totally agree with you about the bmi, I had more regular cycles when I was more overweight than now when I'm lighter, strange isn't it and very frustrating that noone is willing to believe it is anything other than weight related. I'm currently on clomid and it has made me put on a bit of weight, which is annoying as I'm now over the IVF limit so back on the diet.

Hi sorry not had much time to be online the last few days. Yeah has been and in other ways not because we've not really actually been able to ttc 😥 I was on czerazette. I read a lot of things about it since coming off it and I'll never go back on it again! Thanks for your good wishes! FX for your donor eggs 😃

Thanks for the welcome and good wishes re the stay. Have you finished your Clomid try's now then? If you've got to your goal ivf weight before I'm sure you will do it again 😃 FX you might not need to as something might happen in the baby space before then? Baby dust x
