* OCTOBER 2019 - Testing Thread *

Congratulations again. My FRER with my DD was that dark at 10dpo xx

Morning ladies.
how are we all?
Happy bloody Friday :)
11dpo today, af due latest Monday.

Are any of you lovely ladies a veggie? My oh watched a documentary on Netflix last night about going Vegan/ veggie now he’s apparently joined the club! He’s trying to get me to jump on board but I said I’ll ease into it as I love my fish, but does anyone have any tasty, quick veggie recipes by any chance? Xx

Morning Char, I'm not a veggie or a vegan but I'm very interested in it. I love lentils, chickpeas etc and you can do some much with them and so filling. What was the program called? Sounds quite interesting to watch.

Fingers cross af won't be making an appearance xx

It was called ‘the game changers’. He said it was really fascinating and if I watched it I would be on board with it all. So I’m going to try, mostly because I don’t want to be making 2 different dinners every night :rotfl:
I am going to have a little look on google today for some recipes.
How are you feeling today hun? Did you start with the pineapple? What did your temp do this morning? Xx

Might give that a watch this evening. Might make my oh watch it he doesn't agree with the whole veggie/vegan thing haha I would miss having cheese tho so I could easily be a veggie.

I'm feeling good, back hurts tho which is normal after ov. How are you? My temp did go up but only by 0.10c so we will see what it does tomorrow. I'm confident I've ovulated just not sure on the day haha yeah started the pineapple yesterday xx

@chattychar1990 im not veggie but we always try to have one veggie meal a week, just to try to boost our veg intake, I found the bbcgoodfood website has loads of great recipes and Pinterest too.
Jamie Oliver has also just released a book called the happy vegan.

my oh wanted to go veggie but I said no, not till after we finished ttc as I was concerned the lack of protein might affect things, he’s since forgotten lol

I'm in shock... I guess I have to believe it now. I just keep repeating "oh my gosh".

This seems so dark for 10DPO, I thought I'd need to squint if there was a line. Holy crap, I'm scared but so happy to see this after so many negatives
Wow congrats that’s amazing!!!

Did another test this morning and it’s negative so far! But isn’t a frer like yesterday, just a cheapie! So wasn’t really expecting a positive on it! Just couldn’t help myself lol!
Temp has risen again today and I’m now 36.9!

I think my partner is the least likely person in the world to ever want to go veggie or vegan lol! And don’t know if I could do it either although I do understand how ethically and environmentally I should! Xx

@CrazyChic - i am the same as your husband, i don't really like the idea of it tbh as i am scared about not getting the protein i need for this TTC journey but he said there is a part in the documentary about fertility. I think i might have to watch it myself to see.
I told him i am able to TRY veggie but not vegan, that is too far. I wouldn't be able to eat eggs or anything. Said i wont give up fish completely maybe to 3 meals in the week veggie and then 2 meals fish so its the best of both words. Surely i will be helping the environment more than i already am?!

@SugaryIris - thanks hun, i will have a little look on the websites that you mentioned. xx

If you want to go veggie, make sure you get your protein from elsewhere and add B12 supplements as they as very important for brain function and certainly when you are pregnant, b12 is only present in meat.
A friend of mine had decided to become vegeterian but did it the wrong way, left out a lot of foodgroups and didn't have the proper information, she now has to take 30 minutes every morning just to get out of bed because she has extreme cramps in her muscles, she was forced to go back to eating meat because her magnesium reserves were almost depleted. She has been taking loads of magnesium tablets together with calcium and still has been suffering for a few months now.
I don't have anything against vegetarians or vegans but if you do decide to do it, get informed.x

Well this has scared me now lol.

B12 is in cheese, eggs, low fat milk, fortified cereals as well as meat. It is all about making sure getting all the requirements in your diet. Very easily can be vegetarian of eat a wide variety of things. Vegan is very strict and can be done but most vegans I know are on supplements. My sister is vegetarian and had a healthy pregnancy and baby, B12 is very important though. I have a b12 deficiency and got very ill and have issues with my nerves in legs and arms due to damage caused by lack of b12. I can’t absorb b12 from food though so slightly different. Xx

Thats not true. B12 is in animal products so if you're still having dairy/eggs you'll be getting enough B12. Vegans can have issues with B12 but most pregnancy vitamins have it anyway so even going vegan I doubt Char would be lacking.

@chattychar1990 I've been veggie for 5 years and have a nutrition degree. You can easily get enough protein, iron and B12 as a vegetarian. Don't worry about protein. People think we will be lacking protein if we don't have meat but it's simply not true for most of us, especially women. If you plan on having fish too that's another really good protein source. Red meat can pretty bad for male fertility and gut health so I hope the lifestyle change helps your hubby. If you're both serious about going veggie I'd recommend you go pescatarian first (white meat and fish only) as it's a big shock to the system to go full veggie at once. Much easier to slowly ween yourself off the meat! If you want any advice or food tips feel free to PM me x

I’m a veggie too, I think as long as you’re taking a multi/preconception vitamin it’s fine? You just have to check what they include.

xx

Thanks for all your comments ladies.
I definitely am not going vegan but told the OH i will try veggie but still want to have fish atleast twice a week. I take omega-3 capsule every day anyway and i often snack on eggs (even though im not a big fan) so will be making sure i get my protein intake. I basically only live on chicken and fish anyway so its not like i have a bad diet and now me and OH are on this massive health kick i am eating leafy greens every day!! x

I am having such a BAD day today!
I am handing over a project today and i normally arrange a catering company to deliver really nice platters. Well guess what i didn't press the 'confirm order' button at the beginning of the week when making the order so NO food turned up for the clients. There i was running down the M&S local to get sandwiches etc.... the layout of it all looked like it was a kids party ffs! I am so annoyed at myself for making this mistake but everyone makes mistakes right?
THEN...... when i was pouring prosecco for each client i knocked all the glasses over, luckily they didn't smash but WHAT THE HELL???
They say things come in 3 so here i am waiting for something else bad to happen to top off my Friday. Pffftttttt.
I often become clumsy when AF is due so this is probably why this has happened but not this bloody bad!!

Sorry guys, rant over, wish i could say pass me a pink gin but im not drinking so someone pass me a green tea :rotfl:

I'm so sorry I had to laugh about this! Hope your bad luck streak ends soon!

I do apologise, I meant my friend went VEGAN istead of vegetarian but didn't get the proper info before starting, and like you mentioned @WinterWolf, b12 is in animal derived products which makes vegans sensitive to b12 deficiency.x
