Some people seem to have scan dates already and are only 4-6 weeks pregnant.

My doctors won't even see me until I've missed my second period and my sister says they don't do 12 week scans anymore and that they're called 'dating' scans and can be anything from 12-16 weeks

I'm guessing it's all dependant on your NHS area.

I think we will definitely be booking a private one at this rate

Really? They do 12week scan which is the dating scan at my local hospital but I can't wait that long so if the doctors won't give me an early scan then I'll book for a private scan!

All areas are different. I changed doctors from my last pregnancy and they do everything different and they're only 5 miles apart!

Just all depends, in my area the doctor won't see you at all unless you request them for "other options" in regards to your pregnancy.

I wrote the other day but didn't get a reply from anyone ..had a one bit of extremely light spotting on Monday and I'm having brown spotting today, 6+1 ..is this ok? Or should I be worried and contact my GP?

If your worried see your gp, i had a bleed the other day but nothing after touch wood.
I went to the gp and they did bloodsand i self ref to my pau for a scan xx

Is that your early scan? I hate when that happens the two weeks will fly over!

Jaiden just pulls everything out and eventually cries when he gets too bored. He's a nightmare on a bus if he's not occupied with anything, he tried to push all the bell buttons and wants to run up and down the bus but that's toddlers for you!

Yeah Ill be 8 weeks then, I don't know why I didn't do the math now that if Im 6+ then its 2 weeks until Im 8+. Feel like a spud. Plus its my birthday and payday, so Im wanting a nice fab day. Just getting ahead of myself.

Toddlers sure do keep you on your toes. Im quite lucky J just tends to sit and point out EVERYTHING we pass. "tree, house, house, house, tree, car, car, car, car" Im like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah so it is, yeah!

I didn't go through our GP. The first time I went to my GP when I was pregnant he basically just says "is it happy news? ok Ill refer you to MW, take FA and Vit D" So I learned that was a complete waste.

This time however we have a central booking office in Glasgow that you phone and are given your appointment for booking in and scan over the phone. Every board is different.

We decided to book a private scan before we got the 12 week date through as we had a loss in September so it was a given, but just as well because Ill be 13+ at my dating scan. I could not have waited that long!

She does have a scan this morning I hope it goes well. I'll be stalking for updates.

I wish my sniffles would go away, I've had them for about 4 weeks and it's starting to annoy me now!

I caved and booked an early scan privately for next week on 20/02 (which will be 7 weeks and 1 day!). I don't think I could take the suspense, even if I did have blood tests done around week 8 - 10. Just want reassurance everything looks ok!

I don't blame you! Where have you booked?

I've looked at the mothercare ones that were recommended earlier on this thread and they do them 7-11 weeks for £99 but there's a private clinic called Luxe also near me that do them for £59 but 8-12 weeks

Not sure What to think now.. Had an internal scan, Yolk sac was there and measuring more like 5 1/2 weeks than 6+2, however no embryo and she called it a threatened miscarriage. She has said I have either miscarried when I reached about 5 1/2 weeks and the baby is no longer growing or I am just a couple of days behind what I first thought. There was a white dot on the edge of the yolk sac but she has said she cannot tell if it is an embryo cause it's too early. I have signed myself off work for the rest of the week as she advised to take it easy and am back in 2 weeks for another scan. Any of you already mummies had this and it came out ok? OH says it's good news but im not sure

Oh I'm sorry you're going through this I hope it's a good outcome for you in the end. I have no experience about this sorry. Maybe your just a little behind on your dates, it's difficult for scans to be accurate when you're early in pregnancy.

I hope your scan in two weeks time shows a growing baby and a heartbeat.

Mrsbee I think went thinking she was over 6 weeks and there had been nothing there and went back a few weeks later to everything fine.

Have they offered to do 48h bloods to see if your bloods are developing.

My early bleed was called a threatened MC aswell, only because any bleeding in early pregnancy is known as that.

I wasn't offered to do any bloods Claire, but she didn't seem very worried so maybe that's why? There was a lot of info to take in so I can't 100% remember everything she said. Just to not worry and return in 2 weeks, there will either be a heartbeat or not. I think I will just remain positive. Thanks for the support xx

Yeah, of course its easier said than done, but you could worry yourself rotten for 2 weeks and all be well. Try only worry if you need to. How is the bleeding now?

As I say I bled from 7-12w it wasnt pleasant, but after a few days and knowing all was fine I kinda got used to it.

I have booked at a local private place near to me in Birmingham for £80! Nervewracking now but I would rather know either way! They say they can scan from 6 weeks xx

As much as Id like to know everything is ok NOW, I decided to opt for the ones from 8w because if I go and end up being put back, Ill no way be 2w behind, so Id still see a HB. If I went at 6w and ended up being earlier than I thought, I may only see sac and fetal pole and end up sending myself into a tizzy that all isnt measuring as it should..

Ill be 8+ I hope it means Ill get a good shot of baby. My last early scan was like a baby blob

Back from my midwife appt.

I've got to be consultant led because of the complications in my last pregnancy I was hoping for a water birth but that isn't going to happen now. A bit gutted but at least I know I'll be well looked after during my pregnancy and labour. My midwife was lovely! She's very nice and was reassuring.

Does any1 else feel something moving about in thier belly? I didn't notice it with my other 2 pregnancies however with this one I feel like stuff is moving around near enough all the time. Any1 else noticing this??

I Only had that 1 very small bit of blood yesterday and that was it! So happy with that xxx
