*** October 2015 Mummies ***

Is anybody else slightly worried that our babies will be born in October, in the middle of Autumn and with little chance of warm weather? I am getting a bit concerned about what temperature will I have to maintain in the house and what clothes will be suitable for the baby during day and then at night... Why did I not plan for a Spring baby?! x

Im glad im not heavily pregnant when its too hot lol

I think snow suits are adorable
I'd have heating on generally anyway
Full sleepsuits with cardigans and blankets are required x

I had a February baby last time - had no problems keeping him warm, so that's definitely not on my list of things to worry about ;)

Sure, Facebook group sounds cool - I'm in!

I don't use facebook too much so quite happy to stick to the forum ;)

Hi Charlotte. Congrats on your twins.

Don't worry about a winter baby. There are tons of lovely warm clothes to wrap them up in and you just need to set the thermastat for the heating to a sensible temperature. Invest in a snuggly dressing gown to wear breath feeding and it's all fine!

I'm getting heartburn too but the aspirin is not helping me. Gaviscon is my best friend before bed.

Scan went well today, both babies appear to be healthy and similar size...very relieved. I'd had a dream last week that one baby had six ears and six fingers on one hand!

I would be up for Facebook group xx

Im still convinced my baby is gonna have no nose! !

My first is an October baby he was actually born during a bizarrely random 3 day heatwave, I gave birth to him in a summer cotton dress lol. Literally a day later it was proper October weather brrr, but we had no problems with the cold and the baby as the house was always warm so he just had his babygrows and a nice thick sleep bag and he was fine, going out just needed a warm snow suit and blankets it wasn't an issue. It's easier to warm them up than try cool down in the height of summer!

Only downside to a autumn/winter baby is shorter days so less opportunity to get out of the house, I went a bit cabin fever stir crazy. Also future birthday parties always have to be planned for indoors, no nice day at the beach or family picnic or bouncy castle in the garden. On the plus side you get an extra year with them before school as will be oldest in class :)

I had a jan baby last time. I had heating on during day & baby wore sleep suits, & snow suits for outside. I would be up for Facebook group too. Only bad thing is weather can prevent you going out for walk etc.

I have thought about this too and I'm looking forward to an autumn/winter new born, I quite like being hermit-y during those first few months, also those cuddly snow suits are sooooo cute. My only mild concern is that Cora my 2 year old toddler won't be able to play outside as much but I'm sure we will be fine.

I'd be up for a fbook group too :D more photo's to coo at. I know people moan about internet social networks, but I think they can be a lifeline for new housebound mums.

It's probably too early but I'm starting to get twinges of nesting....seriously I am off to e-bay in a mo to purchase a couple of filing cabinets and sort out all my old paperwork sat in the garage. No inclination what-so-ever to tackle it up until now and I'm actually looking forward to it! ha! V unlike me, gotta be nesting.

Just a thought....It might be worth PM'ing us privately with link to facebook group...that way our precious pics won't be available to all and sundry to nose at x

Haha! Staceymo, we have also started the nesting process  Bought loads of soft storage boxes in different colors to go on the bookcase in our spare room to serve as storage for nappies, clothes and toys. We decided to use as much of our current furniture as possible atm x

I'm waiting for the 4d scan to confirm the gender so I can start clothes shopping!!!!! Exciting :)

OK, I'll join the facebook group too :) Who's opening it? x

i dont mind doing it but will have to do tonight. I will make it private etc so no one can access it without permission

Great, thanks for volunteering x :)

I know i've posted this before, but it's pretty common for babies to nap outside in their prams all year round over here in Norway. -10 degrees no probs! A common sight:
