November Mummies! <3

My appointment went fine, blood pressure creeping up but they didn't seem concerned. Baby's head was fully engaged last time but this time only 2/5.

I asked about tightenings being painful she said as long as they're not coming 5 mins apart not to worry...

I'm back at 38 week.

Baby's estimated 7lb 6oz/7lb 8oz x

Just noticed today my belly feels a little squishy. Almost like before I was pregnant rather than tight like it has been. Also my belly button which was totally flat from being stretched has gone back in a little.

Just read it could mean baby is back to back... I sure hope not after what I just read. :|

Glad your appt went well. Maybe baby is all on one side and its making it feel less firm?
My bubba was all on the left today when the midwife was over. I lay down and it was all wonky! The right side felt more squishy than the other side. Which way can you feel baby kick?

Don't know what the pain was this morning, but it REALLY hurt. Midwife said I needn't be too worried unless it becomes more regular and to contact if I get any blood.

My walking has turned into a proper waddle now haha!

Baby's bum is usually on the right side & his feet stick out the left side. But my whole belly feels squishier. Worrying it could be something like my waters leaking or something as my belly did this when my waters went with my first. And midwife says "it's all baby" hmm x

If you're not 100% happy, tell them and they should have to reassure you. Someone who saw me on the assessment unit a few weeks ago told me that even though he wasn't concerned for me or baby, the fact that I was concerned made him have to be concerned as only I know baby properly. So he sent me for extra monitoring and a scan so I was reassured to know everything was deffo fine.

My bubba is usually kicking to the right, but sometimes for a few minutes he twists to kicking to the left. It feels super odd, it's like having your parting on the opposite side you're used to haha!

Just called my doctors to get my blood results, my midwife didn't want my hameoglobin levels to be below 110, but they were 108 so I'm on iron tablets twice a day. They've now gone down to 94. I've been trying to sneak spinach into meals, drink less etc but what else can i do?!

Baby's switched to left side kicking right. I keep getting period type aches coupled with wetness & a feeling like I'm on my period. It's so strange & uncomfortable. Bending over the bath washing LOs hair has caused my stomach to go real hard & I'm desperate for a wee every 5 minutes but when I go a dribble comes out. This is no fun.

I'm not sure what you could do for iron. Are you feeling the effects of low iron levels? X

Maybe you could make smoothies and just chuck in spinach and other irony things?

That doesn't sound fun at all Starchild :( I hope it eases off soon so you can enjoy the last few weeks!

I'm vegan and only just started taking iron tablets, even though my Hb is 120.

Foods I eat for iron are; kale, brocolli, bok choi, spinach, anything green really lol and I make quinoa salads with pumpkin seeds

How do they estimate baby's weight without a scan?

X

Smoothie idea is a good one. I might start doing that myself actually!

They go from your bump measurement. They measure your bump, and plot it on the chart against how far along you are & then follow the estimated curve to due date & there's your baby's birth weight. Not at all accurate. although, I had growth scans with my daughter & they weren't accurate either she was estimated 8lb + and was born 7lb 2oz. X

Wow the baby has just kicked so hard I was literally left feeling winded. I feel like he's gonna be a big bruiser  never had his with my first x

The idea of making smoothies is so cool, but I make like three and thats my smoothie phase over for another few months! Haha!

I love those kicks, it's like baby's trying to get some attention! Not that the attention has been on anything else this whole time!

This is going to sound really petulant and spoilt of me, but 4 of my friends are due between now and November, they're all on second babies, and they've all had baby showers in the last two weeks. I feel a bit sad that I'm not having one. I asked my sister if we should have one back in June, and she ignored me.

Maybe mention it to your sister again to give her a little prod?

I think I'm going to go out for a meal instead of a shower. It's only just become a thing around where I'm from

Aww I would feel the same Mayflower. I was shocked my friends organised one as I was sure I wasn't getting one & was feeling kind of disappointed 'cause my Facebook was full of other people's.

Nothing stopping you organising a little tea party type baby shower for yourself that's what I did with my first, I made some food and invited a few friends over for a last big meet up before the baby.

My pram is ready to go! It's beautiful yellow & I'm really pleased with it.

Also finished packing my bag, I've got

4 pair big knickers
2 pair socks
1 pair PJs
1 long shirt
Bra
2 packs maternity pads
Travel shampoo/toothpaste/moisturiser
Toothbrush
Face wipes
Little hair brush/bobbles/clips
Towel
Going home pants & top

I'm gonna stick my notes, phone charger, drinks & snacks, a book (in case) & some foundation in an over the shoulder handbag type thing as it's stuff I won't have just sitting in the car for the next (possibly) month...

Anyone taking anything I've missed?

It's my last day at work tomorrow! Yippee! X

It kinda feels like no-one thinks this baby is worth celebrating?

I've finished baby's bag, just need to remember to buy some travel shampoo and conditioner for mine, plus I need to get nursing bras, then I'm done! I think you've got everything starchild!

I haven't had a baby shower either mayflower. I'm very isolated out here and don't have any Swedish friends and my in laws haven't bought a single thing for the baby, they tried giving me a 27 year old crib and mobile... so I'm not expecting one from them either.

I'm probably a bit mad but I've just put all the baby's bottles through the dish washer (re-using my daughters with new teats) and scrubbed the steriliser down. They'll be all clean and ready to be sterilised when baby comes home! I've also bought a couple of cartons of formula to keep in the cupboard.

Mayflower it could be that your friends feel it would be too much for you, I know one of my friends was worried as she knew how uncomfortable & tired I'd been. She panicked and wanted to tell me (it was a surprise) in case I didn't fancy one. I haven't got any nursing bras this time as I'm not planning on breastfeeding, but I do need some more comfy bras as mine aren't comfy at all! Lol

Ah breast pads! Forgot those. Will pick some up. Also some dry shampoo. Does anyone know if they do a travel size?

Plastic bag for clothes is a good one especially as a lot of mine were blood stained. :|

A 27 year old crib? Wow.. I imagine that being incredibly beautiful or seriously unsafe.... lol

I don't have bottles yet, we've been struggling to decide on a brand & now we have, they're out of stock everywhere. We've decided on MAM bottles. We used tommee tippee with our daughter - no problem at all, but I like the idea of these MAM bottles being able to self sterilise in the microwave. As I got rid of our electric steriliser after I melted a dummy in it. You sound super prepared Mayflower. I finished work today so I hope in the next few days for everything to be ready. Still need a mattress for the Moses basket! Lol

What formula are you using? X

I bought some nursing bras on Amazon I have nothing to compare to but they were cheap and are comfy lol.
Batiste do travel size x
