*** November 2014 Mummies! ***

I want to wash them now, but I know if I do I'll end up wanting to wash them again once I go on maternity. If you pack them away all nicely im sure they'll be fine, but I reckon you'll want to wash them all again closer to the time!

That's what I keep thinking! Just wanna wash them and get them put in the drawers ready for his arrival.. The suitcase will only fit under the stairs so not really ideal and clean :-/

Kaa, of course you can, haha! I never do much work in the summer holidays, I tend to leave it all to September and have an awful time of it then, so no different for me, just none of that pit of the stomach feeling in the last week of August.

My pile is getting bigger, mostly clothes bought for me by other people. I wish I knew people to give me secondhand stuff but I don't really mix with anyone who's recently had a baby. I also have nowhere to put stuff, really need the nursery decorated so I can at least put things in plastic boxes in there. Currently I have bags down the side of the sofa and some stuff just piled on the dining room table.

I wouldn't bother washing yet - you'll want to do it again in Sept/Oct.

Oh, there's a 20% off sale on baby stuff at George, online only, today only. Sorry for not giving you a heads up earlier, only just realised myself and been looking to see if there's anything big I need from there. Unfortunately moses baskets aren't in it, which is what I wanted.

I might go and see if sleeping bags are included, want a few more of them.

I have washed all my baby stuff and put it the vac pack bags so it is all protected and under the bed out of the way until nursery is done.

Toffee girl do you not find clothes smell of plastic when they have been in vac storage bags...i hate the smell..use them alot and always have to wash stuff again!

I will probably end up washing in september once furniture has been installed...

Pheonix...i too have a really idiclic image of hanging all my pink stuff up on a line...it seems really mummsy thing to do :-)

Wow toffeegirl thats organised!!

We sorted the nursery out just because i could no longer stand there being piles of stuff around the house and needed to clean and tidy so we just got it ready. Now all we need to do is set up the wardrobe and pretty much finished. :)

I got a moses basket from asda online only £27 (my nan got it for us) stand was £20. Its all set up ready in nursery now although moses basket still in packaging. Think in some ways we are very prepared and in others not at all haha.

I also cant wait to have lots of tiny baby clothes lying around on radiators washing lines etc. :) xxx

Yes kaa...I am probably a years wardrobe worth of clothes purchased in sales or given...ive sorted life insurance and will stuff out...but all the rest of the baby stuff done i haven't done yet! Still plenty of time though

Think when nursery is sorted ill put clothes into drawers and stuff then once I go on maternity I'll wash them.
Nursery is currently a dumping ground for everything baby related so can't wait until its all organised and nice :)

You have done life insurance and will!? Oh my!! How depressing yet necessary. Any good advice or recommendations? Xx

We went to post office and spent £3.99 on wills although im sure you get them free....
And my only advise for life insurance is...do what you can afford, and be weary of a joint mortgage as they only pay out once. We have two seperate insurances so if we both died there would be a pay out for each of us. (Seemed to be the same price as a joint policy). Couldnt afford critical illness or mortgage protection, but as we have savings (thats what we will use in that situation)... Hopefully will never use any of it....mobid i know!

Dont understand life insurance??

I'm on compare the market and keep upping the cover amount and it's currently at 500k and only £11 a month? Can't be right surely?!

Never even thought about wills and who would have baby if we died. Think I'm going to have to talk to my grandpa about it all as he knows everything about that sort of thing. Think baby would go to either my brother or one of other halves sisters......strange thought really.

I haven't really thought about insurance or who will look after the baby, but I think we'll need a will now, as I'd want to make sure my child and stepchildren have even shares of things. As it stands, this child will be legally both of ours but my stepchildren are only legally my partner's so I don't want them to get a short shrift in any way.

Pheonix...i bet thats because of your age...im 35 and for 100k coverage its £7 a month. (I do not smoke). I bet its your age which makes it so cheap.

My OH was £33 for 400k cover!

I just assumed it would stay the same lol, does it go up every year like if you take it out now?

You have to watch the small print but no typically its a fixed price that will stay the same....although you have to account for the fact that you will end up paying life insurance for a longer period of time than me for example as you are younger and will be paying insurance for a longer period.

What you could do is take out a policy for like £5 for 200k and then when you have more money later in life increase the policy or get another life insurance.

It's just like a £500k policy for like £20 a month or something for 50 years!

That only comes to like £12,000. How do they make money? lol

Hahaha true. In 50 years I'll only be 72, I could so still be alive then lol!

I have a will but never thought about insurance, would cost a bomb for me as I am 39,diabetic and have a stoma. Think I will give that a miss.
